Do NOT let them near your face!

This is a nice place to get your hair done, but whatever you do, do not get a facial. Friends and I have all had break outs after a facila there. It was dirty. There as hair all over the sheets and blankets, the towel was dirty, the room was dirty....ewwwww!!!

• Cons: dirty, terrible facial staff

Do yourself a favor by going to Bishop's Salon

Bishop's is the best salon in Nashville!!! When you enter the salon you are greeted by a group of wonderful young women at the front desk who can help you with the wide variety of services offered by the salon.

Mitzi has a great group of stylists working with her. If you want a real treat have Mitzi herself do your hair. She is fabulous and will make you feel like a million bucks. I have people compliment me on my haircut and color all the time thanks to Mitzi.

Favorite Salon

I have been going to Bishop's salon the past 8 months. I enjoy the environment and it is the first time I have gone solely to one place for service. I specifically go there to have Matt as my stylist. I met him when I went into the Beauty Institute for a hair cut and new style change. He was the one that did the cut and I've gone to him since...following him from school to salon. As long as he and I both live in the Nashville area I will never go to anyone else. I have very frustrating hair and it's usually really difficult for me to find a style that makes me feel good. However, he was able to find something that suits my personality and makes me feel more confident.

Bishops is very clean and the other stylists are friendly, often complimenting one another on the job that they are doing.

• Cons: Can be a little expensive, but they have a variety of price ranges.

Alicia Powell former customers

After some research I found Alicia, her cell phone is 615-228-6880. Will not be going back to Bishops I don't want to do business with place that is dishonest to customers.

wrong way to handle stylist leaving

As seen in an earlier review regarding Alicia Powell no longer being at Bishop's, I also found out when I called to schedule an appointment for my daughter. I was also asked to use another stylist but was not offered a free haircut. Three people I spoke with about Alicia leaving were offered the free haircut. Everything regarding her leaving seems to be a big secret. I use whoever is available most times, but others in my family always used Alicia. Due to the secretive nature of Alicia leaving and not allowing her clients to choose to stay with her at another salon or stay with Bishops, I will now find a new salon. I wish whoever "Magpie12" is would send another review with the correct cell #. (the one posted has too many numbers)

Stylist Alicia powell is great, but no longer at Bishops. BAD business practices!

I have gone to Bishops for a year for cut, color, and waxing. Kiby is great at waxing!!! I have been going to Alicia Powell for cut and color, she is young but amazing. She really listens to make sure she understands what you want. I recently made an appointment with her and a couple of days later i recieved a call telling me she had left but they would offer me a free haircut to try someone else. They suggested Matt, i asked if he was new and if they were just trying to build his client list. I specifically told the person I do not want a new stylist.

They told me he has worked at the shop for 3 years. So I said okay I'll give him a try. I went in for cut and color. The color looked good when I left the shop but within a couple of days it has already faded. The cut was not at all what I asked for. I didn't feel like he was someone that had 3 years of experience,soooooooo

Iooked up his license on the State website found out he recieved his license in April of 2008!!! matt has worked at the shop but at the front desk.

So it was more important for Bishops to try to build a new sylist client list than to be truthful. They have just lost a customer, one that spends a lot of money on products and appointments. BTW, I found out where Alicia went her cell phone number is 615-2228-6880. I found her and she gladly fixed what new stylist didnt' do.

Great Salon

Do yourself a favor , go to Bishops and ask for Melissa Edwards. From the moment I met her I knew I was in good hands. She has a great personality and you can tell she loves her job....but more importantly she knows how to cut hair. I made my appt. on a whim and took the suggestion of the receptionist to book with her. As I have done so many times I woke up and wanted an appt. that day. She completely transformed me! I absolutely love my hair now. This is the best haircut I have ever received. I can not close without mentioning Kibby as well. Before I got my hair cut I saw Kibby for an eyebrow wax. She is amazing. I'll never go anywhere else. The salon is very stylish but not stuffy. Everyone there was very nice and professional.

Pampering, caring, professionals

David, Sandy, Dyer, and Jennifer are wonderful people. I use their names for a reason...they use mine. From my first visit they took the time to personalize my service. It is not just me, I listen to the way they treat everyone that walks in. As for the experience, if you like to be pampered...I hope your ready for a scalp and neck massage that is out of this world, it comes with the shampoo. Next is the real job where the stylist has to listen to you...and they do. I have never walked away unhappy from David's. No pushy sales job on the product, usually just a little reminder, and it is good product. I haven't even mentioned the massage yet. Sandy is one of the best. She hears what you say and attacks those rough spots. I always walk away in a better mood. David also offers manicures and pedicures and a tanning bed. David is always running a special that is tempting and affordable on one or more of his services so it is worth just stopping by to look in. I am a man that is hard to please when it comes to my personal care and I give David's a 5 star. Why 5 stars from a perfectionist?...because even when they are not on top of their game the effort to do their best is always present. Thanks for 2 years of no worries and great hair.

The Best Salon in Nashville!

I came to Bishop's recently, and I had such a great experience! It was a little difficult to find if you don't know where the street is, but once I found it, I knew I could get there again. It is really nice inside with lots of warm wood tones and natural lighting, not a lot of that creepy industrial basement stuff you see at other places. The front desk was super friendly, and they even gave me free soda while I waited. My stylist, Sarah, was very friendly, and not too expensive. She listened to me explain my problems with styling, and she even consulted with me about color (even though I did not have any color booked that day). During the shampoo, she gave a great scalp massage and used a hot steam towel! The cut looked great! It was a completely new style for me, and she showed me how to style it so that I feel confident about doing it on my own. Even though I didn't end up buying all the products she recommended, I can still fix my hair so that it looks great with minimal fuss! I am really looking forward to my color appointment and to getting a facial there soon!

best salon around

I seen Bishops on Talk of the Town 2 years ago and called that day for an appoinment. The guy on the phone suggested a stylist named Davina. I went in and had her cut and color my hair. She did such a fabulous job, I have been coming to her ever since. Davina always greets me with a great smile and is raring to go! I've come to appreciate people who like there jobs, its not very fun when they don't, especially when your talking about my hair. I love her assistant Amy, she gives the BEST scalp massage EVER! This might sound crazy but, I like it when she is running late because then I get an EXTRA - LONG scalp massage!! Anyway, Bishops Salon is such a fabulous place. The people who work there are so friendly and always keep me happy. The thing I like the most about my stylist is not only does she do a great job on my cuts and colors, but she teaches me how to style my hair when I get home! I am so glad because it always seems that I can never make it look the same way they do, but not with Davina, She says she doesn't want me screaming her name along with a few choice words in the morning while trying to recreate what she did! So I highly recommend Bishops! Just be careful, you might have to open an expence account to support your addiction!!!!
