A cut above the average fast-food restaurant

Richie's is a unique combination of a fast-food joint and a Cajun restaurant. I have been hooked on the Cajun Catfish and Chicken ever since I discovered the place (several years ago when he used to operate out of a drive-thru only building down the street from his present location). Richie blackens his entrees to perfection using purified margarine and a delicious blend of Cajun spices (spicy but not too hot). Combine the entree with dirty rice, fries or slaw and you have a meal that is a cut above of the average fast-food lunch. Or you can skip the dirty rice and get the same entree as a sandwich. Richie also makes great wings and even burgers for the lunch traditionalists. At Richie's, everything is cooked to order and served fresh. It is slightly pricier than most fast-food establishments; but the food more than makes up for it.

I wish I could tell the world....

I have been a customer at Richies now for about 14 years. The reason I know that is because when I was about 6 moths pregnant, I craved Richies so much I was here nearly 2-3 times every week. My 13 year old now is a fan of wings but by far the best is Richies! We live across town and I frequent Richies as much as I can but this is definitely Nashville's Best Kept Secret! I read a review where one of the guys got Richies special "hot" sauce! Please believe this is no joke! Meaning- DON'T EVER EVER, EVER EVER TRY TO DO THE SPECIAL "HOT" SAUCE! Unless suicide is your intention. Great Place, Great Food

• Pros: The sauce is heavenly!!
• Cons: They aren't located in my back yard!!

BEST Wings in town - Best Kept Secret in Nashville - A MUST-TRY

Richie's is the best kept secret in Nashville - my buddies and I go regularly and it is some of the best food I've ever had. The chicken wings are amazing, very meaty and juicy and the spice isn't too bad (I can take just about any spice level so it's not bad for me), and the menu selection is very good. Richie's a 1-man show who is very friendly and makes sure everything is right for your order. Also the place is clean.

If you love spicy, ask for his special hot sauce. BUT TAKE IT SLOWLY. It's as hot as anything I've ever had.

The only suggestion I would add is to add a TV and put a ballgame on.

• Pros: Great food, friendly service, clean, usually seating is available, great selection
• Cons: no TV, food is prepared after being ordered so naturally it takes a few minutes, but it's WELL worth it!

BEST CHICKEN WINGS IN NASHVILLE!!!!

I've been living in Madison, TN for about 10 years now and have been a resident of the state for 27 yrs. I have never had better cajun style food than Richie's. It's always hot, always fresh, and Richie is always very nice and full of conversation with a friendly smile to go along with it. I also love the fact that his menu is diverse, he has everything from chicken wings to corn dogs...The prices have always been reasonable and you get a lot for your money...I love his cajun catfish platter and the sandwhich, as well as the cajun chicken platter or sandwhich, but my highlight is and always will be his chicken wings so if you get a chance stop by and indulge in some good eating whether your a spicy eating fan or a traditional eating fan Richie will satisfy your tastebuds!!!!!!!!

not a hot wing girl, but Richie's rocks!

Small but clean, Richie's place is great if you want real food. His are the only hot wings I can eat. The sauce is hot, but not so hot it kills your taste buds. (You can get it hotter if you want). Everything on the menu is great. Get extra sauce to dip your fries into. His wife and baby girl are up there sometimes too and they all are great people. Easy access traffic light makes this a stress free lunch hour spot. Located in Madison on OHB just past Gallatin Road. Shares a building with ReTool store.

• Pros: great food, super friendly customer service, good location
• Cons: no frills dining room (but nice music!)

Dingy takeout spot serves up mouth-singing but tasty Cajun fare.

The restaurant's lively namesake makes up for the mediocre decor. He's a one-man show, taking orders and cooking with more energy than three men put together. Richie makes everything to order, so be prepared for a wait. Chicken sandwiches and catfish are fire-breathing hot. But it's not just about heat: Menu items are well-seasoned, fresh and prepared with care. Hot wings produce a pleasant tingle rather than a burning napalm heat.

Richie is not known for his burger, but I want you to know that I consider it to be one of the best in town! It is so unique. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
