I used to work in Brentwood area for a long times ago, even though now i am not work there, but i still go back there for the cake, i love the strawberry cake, every time my family and i have party going on i always call to oder some cakes, I love the breaks and cake, drink, i think this is the best place in TN, I don't think they have a bad services, they do the jobs, and working hard everyday, you should tips them, not complaint. Because they are working really hard for your food. Gob Bless the own, with every single person work in Alpha bakery, My family and I would like to say Thank you Very much for your food . best wish!!!

I love the light, buttery pastries. The almond croissant is especially good-buttery and sweet at the same time. They have a great variety-everything from cakes, to french type breads and even a few Asian style breads. This place shines over chain store bakeries. After eating here, eating from the grocery store bakery is like eating cardboard. I highly recommend the fresh raisin breads, the croissants, and the strawberry cake.
Pros: Outstanding quality
Cons: Seating can be a bit tight

I took my daughter out to lunch here. The apricot danish was delicious!!! I had to by a loaf of cinnamon bread to take home, which was also wonderful.
Pros: great food, great ambience
Cons: small

This rating is limited to the bakery side of the business. The pastries are as good as any I've had in NY, Paris, or Hong Kong. The cake is what cake should be. A perfect crumb, a refreshing, balanced sweetness, and right on target with moisture. The cake is also a wonderful foil for delicate frostings and fresh fruit. The breads I've tasted are flavorful with great texture, crispy crusts, and extraordinary toastablility. Cookies were also superior. If I had one negative comment it would be their limited selection (compared to the NY bakeries of my youth) however I'd much rather see a few things done well than a slew of average offerings. On the lunch side, one outing with three family members offered mixed results including dry eggsalad and overly worked chicken salad.
Pros: world class baked offerings
Cons: the sandwiches are not in the same league as their baked goods

Very unique. outstanding quality and originality. Mrs Chen is truly a jewel of a person.. She and her staff, are constantly providing the best and tastiest products in Nashville. They offer the European flair of great hearth baked breads, croissants and danish, and the exotic cakes such as Taro roulade and the smooth and melt in your mouth, strawberry cakes. The German Rye, and 3 seed fruit-nut and grain breads are just two of my favorites -both excellent and healthy. There is no better Challah breads to be found in Tenn. The almond croissants and sliced apple danish go very fast. Alpha is definitely worth a daily visit for all bakery needs. A treasure of a destination!!!!!
Pros: freshest, highest quality, very personable, family owned

my daughter and grandchildren went with me to alpha bakery for lunch. when i got my sandwhich it took two bites before i realized i got egg salad instead of chicken salad. when my daughter took it back to the counter they said they would give me 20 per cent off a chicken salad sandwhich but i had to pay for the egg salad because i ate two bites. the manager refused to talk to me. two ladies sitting at the next table couldn't believe what just happened. they said they have been patrons there for a while but the customer service had been getting worse. they got up and left their food and said they would not return. i have never been treated so rudely before.
Pros: food and pastries good
Cons: worst customer service i have ever encountered

I didn't have time to read all the signs put EVERYWHERE! Rules about this, rules about that. Don't the owners know this is NOT the way to get comeback customers. It's cheap and presents a negative attitude. I got to the bakery 1 hour before closing and ordered 3 sweet rolls. Then I saw "the sign" that said it would be appreciated if I would order $5 worth if using credit card. Didn't want to spend that much, but felt I had to. Signs on the register, signs on the door, signs everywhere to correct your behavior unless you do something the owners have learned they don't like! Everybody takes up for them, but I say they have issues against somebody!
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Too many rules

I find Alpha Bakery's baked goods to be excellent, and although I've never tried the sandwiches they look great. The only complaint I have about this little bakery is the service-and I am hoping it was just a fluke. I stopped in this morning after running an emergency errand to get a snack--I ran out of the house so fast, I threw on a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt to keep the september morning at bay. SO perhaps I was a little "under-dressed" for the woman behind the counter at Alpha Bakery, who refused to look at me the entire time she dealt with my order, and after I took the time to count out the change she turned to her co-worker without a word to me (not even "Thanks" or "Have a nice day") and announced loudly "You have to check all the twenties, too, to make sure they aren't counterfeit. The banks sometimes hand them out and they don't know." So I forgot my Gucci portefeuille and my Versace sunshades. Does that mean I'm going to try to use a counterfeit $20? I didn't attempt to last month when I forked over $51 for a mediocre cheesecake and an excellent baklava tray for my mother's wedding. Could she not have waited to discuss the issue with the employee until AFTER I had left? A smile goes a long way... It's a great bakery, just BEWARE the fashion police beind the counter (and I don't think it was the owners!).
Pros: baked goods
Cons: the surly brunette behind the counter

When doing my list of pros & cons about whether or not to move from Bellevue, I actually had to consider distance from Alpha Bakery as a con... Mr. & Mrs. Chen's little bakery is a treasure. It's not your average collection of ho-hum cake covered in sweetened lard... this is art baking, European-style, by way of Asia. The pastries aren't as sweet as the cloying stuff you'll get at WalMart, and everything's real, fresh and delicious. The Asian delicacies are fantastic, especially the "curry pan" and "an pan." And as for the bread... oh lord... Do yourself a favor. Drive west and visit Alpha Bakery. Go now.
Pros: Quality of Food, Clean, Inventive menu
Cons: , They run out early, Just one location

Oh my God..!! The 'egg salad on dinner roll' is soooo yummy!! I tried it for the first time and I bought more after that.. The cake is sooo delicious.. I love 'Strawberry & whipped cream' the most.. I have tried different bakeries before but Alpha Bakery is really the best so far..! The cons are it's quite far from Downtown/West End area and it doesn't have delivery service.. Other than that, I seriously recommend this bakery.
Pros: Delicious Cakes, Desserts & Breads, Good service
Cons: No delivery, Far (location)
