Not the store it used to be

I went to the Children's Shop yesterday to buy a smocked Christmas outfit for my son. I was shocked when I entered the new store and discovered that it is a completely different store now. It was my first visit since it came under new ownership, and I am sad to report that what used to be my source for classic smocked clothing is no more. To put it mildly - there is nothing about it that resembles the old store and their fabulous merchandise. It looks like The Plaid Rabbit just closed shop and relocated to Green Hills. They should change the name to the Plaid Rabbit. Not only do I lament the fact that they no longer carry what I used to frequently purchase for myself and others, but the layout of the store is confusing and hard to navigate. After I walked out of the store, I headed straight over to Helen's and found just what I was looking for. For any of you out there looking for a great selection of smocked clothes - don't waste your time going to the Children's Shop. Instead go straight to Helen's or drive out the The Little Cottage in Franklin.
