Best Place in the World for breakfast
by heather_koch at Citysearch
You may be overwhelmed when you walk in to watch the employees at work, moving about like a bee hive. A great family atmosphere, and the employees remember you after you have been a few times. Both side of the menu are delicious. The best pancake one the menu are the Sweet Potato Pancakes, and they serve a warm cinnamon cream-like syrup with them. The waitresses are more than happy to serve. The manager is Anthony, and he will even pitch in and cook of things get really busy. The line may look long when you get there, but they move things fast.
- Pros: Inexpensive
- Cons: needs more parking
Pancake Heaven
by benzrwilder at Citysearch
My Dad first introduced me to The Pancake Pantry, I guess, 30 years ago... I haven't stopped going back... Every time my kids come to town, they want to go back.. Even reminding me to tell the story of Santa, and the placard on the wall dealing with unattended children... The staff is the greatest... So friendly... And the pancakes... just great... The only trick is picking which ones... I'll always go back...
- Pros: Ambience, Friendliness
- Cons: crowded
The best pancakes anywhere!

Pancake Pantry is a must visit. Expect to wait in line if arriving after 8 am. All of the pancakes are incredible, but one of the best things about the Pantry is the service. Long time wait staff are efficient, but never seem hurried. To the regulars, they are just like family.
More hype than taste
by VolBall at Citysearch
This restaurant has been around for many years with one owner. Sometimes I think he has forgotten why he is in the business and the need to provide customer service. At times the hype is stonger than the reality and the restaurant becomes more important than the paying customer.
There is no need to speak either way on the staff that "work" there as they are people like you and me just doing their job. The "food" how hard is it to throw out eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes.
I guess I truly believe the staff works hard in a place that forgot its past and believes its future is the publicity and those who speak highly of tradition without realizing the true product.
- Pros: In the neighborhood, I like breakfast, Someone else bought
- Cons: Take it for granted, I like service, Forgot who they are
Good breakfast spot
by PatrickRains at Citysearch
The Pantry is a Nashville institution, as witnessed by the line outside the door on the weekend. Good breakfast fare served by nice wait staff. Although the weekend line can move fairly quickly at times, try and catch it during the week when seating is much quicker.
- Pros: staff
- Cons: lines
