Overpriced, poor service, inept management!!

I recently attended bound'ry for a private event. The set up was great and we thought we were really in for a great time. It started going downhill almost immediately, however. The servers repeatedly ignored us, denying us the most simple requests like water, a black napkin, or steak knives for our fillets! It got to be so bad that I felt the need to say something to the manager, who was unapologetic and rude. We were astonished that a supposedly nice restaurant could provide such disrespectful and inattentive service. Furthermore, the creme brulee that I ordered for dessert was not even "brullee" and was more of a fruit custard and not good. I, needless to say, will not go back to Bound'ry and wish we had picked somewhere else to have our annual holiday dinner party.

Not the Bound'ry I fell in love with

We have been going to Bound'ry for many years, and have been loyal patrons, however, this steady decline in service is absolutely unforgivable. I used to love coming here with my wife and daughter, but now I do not think that I will ever return. We ALWAYS call and make reservations....ALWAYS. We do this because we request a particular table, and in the past, the Bound'ry staff has always accomodated us. However, we were treated VERY rudely by the hostess, who said that there was absolutely no way that she could give us the table that we requested (which was empty when we got there). Don't you think that if someone requests a table BY NUMBER they may have been to your establishment once or twice and you should try to abide their wishes? We were seated and ordered our usual. Our server completely ignored us after we placed our order. When the food arrived at the table, everything was wrong. After grabbing another server to get our server to correct the error, it took forever to get the food that we had initially ordered, and it was not up to par. Our server was unapologetic and condescending. What happened to this place? It used to be so wonderful for any occasion, but now you can't even go have a decent meal there without there being some sort of mishap.

Awful Service

I've never complained about a restaurant on here, but I felt I needed to this time. We went there on a Friday afternoon/evening for drinks and sat at the upstairs bar area. The waitress was terrible and she did not know the menu. We had to go to the bar to order because we rarely saw her. The drinks were overpriced and blah. We were to afraid to sit and wait for food that might resemble the drink and service. Very dissapointing.

Not good. Wished it was better.

We were excited to eat here, BUT...

Everything was over-smoked, dry and/or greasy.

- Bread was DRY and stale

- Tuna sashimi appetizer - bland and salad smelled bad.

- Crab cake was ok except for the MOUND of caviar and chunky random pieces of onion...that's how you know its cheap caviar.

- Calamari was average.

- Goat cheese pizza was good

- Pork Chop was over-smoked, under-seasoned. Tasted like a Cedar chip...however was perfectly cooked for a thick chop. The mac and cheese was overdone and dry yet greasy at the same time. The chop made me feel nauseous.

Don't worry Bound'ry, we're not mad at you, those are just the facts. We just want you to improve.

I beg you. Stay away from here. If I even help one person not go through, what I went through, my life will not be for naught. The service is soooooo bad, and when I say soooo, I mean it. Cold food, non-existent servers, over priced drinks. Yow. Marque de Sade eat you're heart out.

I don't understand how such a place can stay in business.

First, the service is horrible.

Second, the food is worse.

Third, the manager is not as good as the former or the latter.

Try the very old fish.

You will understand what I'm saying (if you can actually get you're food).

Proles on Parade

While there are a few cosmopolitan restaurant-bars in Nashville, this definitely is not one of them. Poorly trained wait-staff seems to be the norm as they are unfamiliar with out-of-state licenses, and are also unfamiliar with common bar liquor brands. Put that together with a self-entitled me-first waitress attitude adds up to a distinctly provincial environment.

Come here to dine and drink if you think you are worldly and sophisticated...yet the rest of the world knows you're not!

Not worth it

Very disappointing. The waiter was terrible, making our party yell across the table for anything instead of walking around and taking orders. We ordered appetizers, and for $10 you get 3 scallops. Yes that's 3 small scallops. Others were similar. The trout was supposed to be some sort of Italian sausage encrusted piece of fish, but was instead a tiny overcooked chunk of fish with bacon bits or something very similar on top. All in all I wouldn't give $5 bucks for this meal that just cost us over $200. If you want a decent meal and a nice evening, go somewhere else.

Awful Service

I have been to the Bound'ry on three different occassions. On all three occassions, I have felt that the food was ridiculously expensive for what it was AND that the service was horrible. After my last simply atrocious time there, I decided to never return. There are plenty of better restaurants in Nashville - especially in the midtown area. And you won't have to deal with super snooty people at many of the other nice restaurants.

Nightmare on 20th Ave. S.

Extremely overrated. The worst dining experience that I've ever had in my life (44 yrs). Perhaps the Bound'ry should put the word "Joke" in front of their name. My wife and I, and a couple of friends, had the misfortune of visiting the Bound'ry a few weeks ago. It was freezing inside the restaurant, unless you happen to get one of the few tables by the fireplace. We were seated at a table that was so cramped for room that we could hardly get in our chairs(all four of us are skinny people). The food was very marginal at best and was also served in surprisingly very small portions. I spent $94.00 and felt like I had just eaten at McDonald's. I tried F. Scott's in Green Hills the weekend before and it was fantastic. Don't waste your time and money on the "Joke" Bound'ry.
