I go for the smokin thighs and the southern onion dressing. awesome! Further, if Jesse is working, sit at his bar and prepare to be entertained with a witty personality, top-notch skills and great conversation. If manager David is on duty, he'll surely stop by to check on your well-being. These two cats make the place! I go every chance I get.
Pros: everything
Cons: parkings iffy, but so what. Keep looking 'till you find something

My wife and I were asking around for a seafood place while in Nashville and this came highly recommended. Boy was that guy wrong. We wanted a more intimate sit down place and this is the opposite. I looked at the menu and it seemed tasty, hoping the food would match the prices...NO WAY. Our server must have been having the worst day of her life because she was rude, unattentive, and came by only once after we were served. Not to mention they got my wife's order wrong. I found myself waiting for 10 minutes before getting another beer. The food was horrible and I would recommend not going to this place. You would get a better seafood meal at Long John Silver's. Save your money and treat yourself to better.
Pros: None
Cons: Poor food and service, noisy and overpriced

I've eaten here a lot as it's close to school. Their breakfast is awesome especially their hash browns. service is excellent and if they're really busy, they are very apologetic, so can't dock them on that. their beer always tastes cold and fresh.
Pros: food is just good
Cons: can't think of any except hungry drunken older women at the bar who steal your food!

Well I better explain. This is a great restaurant it really is. If you can get a table up in the treehouse its great. If you can go when the weather is nice its perfect here. We have been every season and Spring and Fall are best. When its summer this restaurant is hot...Winter very cold. It is very crowded and very very loud. You get shuffled in and out no room at some of the tables. BUT if you are looking for fun and good seafood in Nashville for the price this is it. Forget the rest of it the food is great.
Pros: Great Food good time
Cons: Parking! Service (I really think just about every server here is rude)

Large menu with tons of variety from New Orleans favorites, to seafood, to American fare. The place can be sort of grungy though. The prices are overpriced because of the "trendy" area.
Pros: Great atmosphere.
Cons: Overpriced, Grungy.

We had a great experience at South Street. Myself, husband and 1 year old came in for lunch and the manager talked to us like he had known us for years. The entire waitstaff catered to us when our server was overwhelmed. Everyone was kind and talkative. Besides that the food was awesome and hope to get a babysitter and come back for a Saturday night out!! Highly recommended!
Pros: The parking situation couldnt get better, the valet service was great!
Cons: not sure there are any

My favorite casual place in Nashville. The food is good but it is not cheap. This place is priced like everything else in the neibhorhood. The food is GREAT. I love the steamer bucket. If you want to split something and you both are hungry try the crab and slab(three kinds of crab and a big slab is ribs). You will pay a little more than a true "dive bar" but it is a lot better. The servers can be rude when they get rushed. This is a good place to go when you need an "ice breaker", people have fun here. When the weather is cooler but not cold, go upstairs to the "tree house"
Pros: Good food, fun times
Cons: The staff sometimes has an attitude.

This place is on my list of "I'll never eat there again." The tater tots were some kind of experimental fried mashed potatoes that resembled hush puppies with mushy innards. My girlfriend had a seafood "platter which consisted of three malnourished shrimp, five scraggly calamari, and fries. They had to distribute the food evenly on the oversized plate to make it look full. Thinking this a mistake I told our (rude and slow) waiter that we were missing some shrimp. He said, That is correct...half and half." Uhm...correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't halves equal? He added that for $6.95 we could add six shrimp. After paying, the waiter asked if my friend needed change. She said yes and our waiter said he had dropped some and it rolled down the street. If your looking for a place to make you feel like you've been mugged and verbally abused...enjoy.
Pros: BBQ, Atmosphere, Location
Cons: Portions, Wait Staff, Bad Seafood

my boyfriend and i used to visit southstreet at least twice a week because of the great food and even better atmosphere. southstreet was like our "CHEERS" for about a year. then something happened behind the scenes with the cooks and it all went downhill from there. you can only get by on atmosphere for so long, but if you continuously serve below average food even the regulars are going to disappear. i used to look forward to the daily specials because they were fresh and different all the time. but no more, i hate to be this harsh, but lately the food just sucks. come on guys, get back in the groove and focus on the food. i would love to make southstreet my spot again.
Pros: good prices, great staff, atmosphere
Cons: no parking, below average food

No two ways about it, South Street is a fun place to be and the food is mighty good. Sit upstairs in the tree house and whittle away time with friends sharing oysters, ckicken legs, and drinks. The service can be hit or miss depending on who's working but more often than not, it's good, sometimes excellent. The waitresses are attentive, fun, and sometimes even flirty. The bartenders are quick, make good drinks, and always treat you familiarly. The prices are probably a bit above average, but the food is ridiculously good, so not what I'd call overpriced. Fresh, tasty, and well prepared.
Pros: great food, fun atmosphere, good drinks
Cons: parking, noisy
