I really wanted to like Cafe Nonna. It's within walking distance and its atmosphere and surroundings are charming. My wife had the lamb special, I had the Hunter Chicken. Both dishes had very little taste. They weren't awful, but for the price I expect some flavor. The bread pudding we had for dessert was absolutely fantastic and was definitely the high point of the evening. Service was good also, so we'll probably give it another shot in case the kitchen was having an off-night. For now, though, my opinion is that Zola wipes the floor with this place.

Pros: Fresh ingredients, friendly service, great "tight" atmosphere

Cons: Food didn't match the price

My wife and I love this place. We eat here seven or eight times per year, and we always show it off when family or friends come into town. It's not inexpensive, but it is fairly reasonable. For two people ordering a bottle of wine, two entrees, and an appetizer, you can expect to spend 100 bucks. That being said, the food is always awesome. The menu has plenty of classic options, and the nightly specials are truly special. They put together some amazing seafood and pasta. The only drawback (why I rated this a 4 instead of a 5) is that some of the tables are way too close together. If your seats happen to fall along the wall with the long bench (I believe it is the east wall), you can expect to be listening to the conversations of the next table. It is very annoying. You can reach over and steal their bread and listen to every word of their conversation. The other tables are much more mangeable. Besides that one aspect, the atmosphere is really quaint. If you like Italian food, you should give it a shot.

Pros: food, atmosphere

Cons: tables are crowded

3 friends out to dinner. 2 glasses of house wine, 1 beer. 1 salad, 2 pasta dishes. 1 appetizer. almost $70.00. whaaaaaaaaaaaaat? portions are okay.. not gigantic. this place seriously charges waaaaaaaay too much for pasta and lettuce. it ain't rocket science. wish we had gone someplace else. oh, and this is not a private place either. be prepared to hear all about the lives of those sitting next to you.

Pros: food isn't bad

Cons: food is too expensive. not a private, cozy place.

Caffe Nonna serves great Italian and Mediterranean flavors in an intimate, romantic setting. The flavors are deep, definitely a place for foodies. The setting is dim and a little tight, but its works perfectly for 2-4 people.

My wife and I had dinner at Cafe Nona. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The first thing you notice is how small the dining area is...they could easily take out five tables and it would still feel cramped. So right off the bat, your playing bumper chairs with everyone around you. And you can also forget about having a quiet, romantic evening...sitting that close to other people, you overhear EVERY conversation and it's hard to speak over a room full of people to your date. After waitinig too long for a server, e ordered the bruschetta (which was just okay) and some wine. For the main course, I had a pasta dish wiith sausage. The pasta was okay, but we suffered bad service all night...water glasses sitting empty...asking two to three times for wine, etc. It was also pricey for the quality of food and service. Overall, I can't recommend it.

Pros: Location

Cons: Service, small dining area, price

a restaurant to avoid. hard to believe a restaurant with bad service & mediocre food can survive when good restaurants fail. our visit included being charged for items not received & even being asked to leave so that the unknowing could have our table. should be known as"cafe no no". what a shame that places like the cooker with a courteous staff & good food cannot survive & this place can.

Pros: none

Cons: everything

My Wife and I made reservation and arrived on time and was greeted at the door and seated very quick! The service was great and the food also was outstanding, I had the veal scallapine and my wife had the seafood medoly, Mine was great my wife was satified with hers. The plates were presented very nice. The prices a little steep but you get what you pay for. The deserts looked overwhelming but were to full to try them. We had the 2 entrees listed and I had tea and my wife had water we walk out with a $50.00 tab not includeing the tip. All in all I would recommend this dining expereience to anyone we will definetly treat ourselvles again there

Pros: great food, romantic

Cons: high prices, clutted seating no privacy

Wonderful ambience. Crowded but cozy. Feels like Italy. Food is terrific and desserts are even better!! Wonderful service, reasonably priced. We drive from Franklin and return regularly for lunch and dinner. Reservations are a must.

Although I had heard great things about this restaurant I did not witness them during my visit. Our waiter was horrible! It took him 10 minutes to acknowledge we were there, he forgot my drink order, and we did not see him from the time he brought our drinks until our food came--an hour later! Other waiters brought our salads and refilled our water. We had to ask another waiter when our food would be ready because our waiter would not come to our table! And we were seated right by the kitchen--he walked by us at least 20 times and never once stopped! Although the food was good it did not make up for the way we were treated.

Pros: good food

Cons: bad waitstaff, horrible service, not worth the wait

While most would agree that this place has a great amiance and a cozy location, I found the food just marginally above average and overpriced. One glass of wine, a cheaper entree & tip near $70.00 The setting is extremely important to my wife and I, but at this rate, I'll take less style, the same or better food, - and leave with $30 less spent. Overall, I'm glad I went to experience this Nashville bistro but that one time was probably enough for us. The wait staff was great and relatively easy to get a table during the week. Just not enough value.

Pros: Atmosphere, Location

Cons: Pricey, Average Food
