Bad customer service, dirty and $$$

by RayOD

Bro's Cajun Cuisine, huh. What a joke. First off, the wait staff was terrible, never seated us, never offered us menus, got the order wrong, and reminded us to leave a tip! The food was very expensive for what you got. $10 for a Po Boy with 5 shrimp is insane. The cajun was not very cajun, just overpriced and in a filthy environment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: very poor service, food was less than average, filthy, filthy filthy

Dirty and expensive

by acnvu

I went here with my mom and brother hoping for some yummy cajun food. It may have been the worst meal I've ever had in my six years of living in Nashville. The service was slow and unfriendly, the food wasn't particularly appetizing, and the prices were totally unreasonable. I agree with the other poster that this place would probably have trouble passing inspection. No ambiance, nothing to like about the place.

Great cajun food

by papie

I love the cajun catfish and the red beans and rice are a must. The ownere is always a hoot and I always stop by when I am in the area.

AVOID THIS PLACE - PERIOD.

by deebill

My wife, son, & I wanted to eat a good cajun lunch on 9-26-07 in Nashville. We did not want to pay a fortune and the "reviews" we read of Bro's sounded good. Those favorable reviews MUST have been written by the OWNER & FAMILY MEMBERS. The facility was HOT, SMELLY, and FILTHY: I am sorry my 1st impression did not make me leave immediately. We each ordered a different meal intending to share a bit among us. That never happened because each of us realized our meal was one of the VERY WORST we had ever tried to eat!!

The tomatoes were spoiled, shrimp was over-cooked, rice and vegetables must have been cooked the week prior. The waiter actually threw- not hard, but STILL- items like silver ware on our table: he was a real slob who probably does not know what personal hygiene is.

If anyone reading this has any local influence, PLEASE ask the Health Dept. to inspect this place and NOT give them a 1-week notice! I am a retired Army guy in Clarksville and will never again rely on reviews written by (???) but on word-of-mouth recommendations by people I trust.

AVOID THIS PLACE AS YOU WOULD IRAN OR IRAQ !!

Great food

by kaimandeaux

This place is great, it's not easy to find good New Orleans food.I'm from the West Bank in New Orleans and I'm so glad this place is around, they should tear down all the Mc Donalds and put up a BRO'S in place of them.

  • Pros: Great NewOrleans food
  • Cons: I have to drive from bellevue to get there,HA!

Best Cajun In Town

by em32ma

I've followed this place since I was a kid living in Sylvan Park. It's a bit of a dive but the food is great, the portions are very american and the service is good. It isn't open on the weekends which is the only bad thing.

  • Pros: food, price, portions
  • Cons: not open on weekends

The lunch crowd favorite serves cajun comfort food for the masses.

In Short
The dining room is small, given the size of the building, and shares its space with a staging kitchen and buffet. Small booths line the room, each topped with Cajun staples: File powder for the gumbo, and several varieties of Louisiana hot sauce for everything else. Heaping plates of crawfish etoufee and shrimp Creole stock the menu. There are also daily vegetables and weekly specials: Cajun fried catfish on Tuesdays and barbecue chicken on Thursdays.

Fantastic Cajun!!

I love this place. I have been frequenting it for close to 10 years. It has moved three times in that time period, and I have hunted it down each time.

A MUST!

by normalizer

I've been going to Bro's since they were on Murphy road, the location has changed but the food is still the greatest! The catfish is out of this world, and the gumbo is great. The veggies are always excellent, never a bad choice - my favorites are the field peas with onions and the turnip greens. This "secret" is on the verge of expoliding, so grab a plate and take a friend to knock their socks off.

  • Pros: Food, Pric, Quality
  • Cons: Location, Seating
