A wonderful surprise
by CSMobileUser
A coworker told me about this place. After reading the reviews I finally decided to make a reservation and go check it out. it was inlaws anniversary an they wanted to try something new. Arrived at the place and there was absolutely no place to park. The place was packed! (Arrive early). Parked on creepy little corner and walked from there. From the outside the place didn't look like much but as soon as we entered the charm and warthm became evident. It was such a cute little place that inmmediately understood why some other people thought it romantic. Our server Todd was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. I ordered the gnocchi and the paella and finished with the vanilla cremme brulee! It was all wonderful and fresh. My family had similar reactions to the food and service as well as the calm and welcoming environment. We will definitely visit again. Highly recomend this little piece of heaven!
amazing pork chop, questionable service
by gamergirl327
The first time we went here, it was amazing. The food anyway, and Shaun, our waiter was great. He was attentive and polite, kept our waters full, and seemed to enjoy his job. I believe a lot of their food is locally produced and the pork chop is the best I've ever had.
The most amazing food, however, can hardly make up for a crappy experience based on service. We ate at Yellow Porch again last night and felt like a burden to the hostess and our server. Maybe if I were starving, I wouldn't mind being treated poorly, but since I'm not and there are plenty of very good restaurants in Nashville, I don't think I'll be going back, and I doubt I'll recommend Yellow Porch as heartily as I recommended it before last night. This was the second time we were slighted by our server there. If you choose to go and have the chance to request a server, ask for Shaun or don't go.
- Pros: great entrees, nice ambiance, great bread
- Cons: service, unfriendly hostess
Great option in 100 Oaks

Yellow Porch is a restaurant I could visit at least once a week during spring, summer and fall, and never get tired of it.
Great patio space (even though it overlooks Thompson Lane), great food (the Blue Cheese Celery Soup is wonderful, as well as the bread), great service (this is what Wild Iris SHOULD be doing).
My only advice is to get there EARLY. Otherwise, you'll be circling the non-existent parking lot forever, trying to snag a space.
- Pros: food, patio, service
- Cons: PARKING IS THE WORST
Best Food, Best Service...Recommend for Personal or Business
by erkil68
I have been dining at the Yellow Porch for over two years. I have dined there for both business and pleasure. I must say they are one of the best places around town. The service is exceptional and the food is top notch. Whether it is only two of you or up to 20! The service is great. You will not be disappointed. I have customers/employee's talk about this place months later.
- Pros: Great service and food..
- Cons: Menu pricing is on the high side, reasonable when comparable to other places.
Best chef, server, and food anywhere around!!

I recently ate at The Yellow Porch for my 1st time. It most definitely won't be my last time to dine there. Food was some of the best I've ever had!, Chef Joey Lamb outdid himself! I hope they are paying him well! Wish I could afford him as my personal chef!! Appetizers were fantastic and so was the main course. Waiter/server Shaun did an excellent job also. Only downsides was that we almost drove right by the restaurant missing seeing the tiny sign outside. But main complaint is that the place was too dimly lit. Food that delicious , should be SEEN as well as tasted!! Needed a flashlight to see!!!!! Turn up the lights folks!! Those of you that haven't been to Yellow Porch should certainly try it out. You won't be disappointed!!
it's all already been said: great food and an excellent staff

The exterior may not look the best, but the food is. The staff is fantastic, too. 10 out of 10! Thanks for all the great meals.
- Pros: great food (I like the fish); fantastic service
- Cons: the outside of the building
Great food, great service what more would you want?

The fresh fish is always great and the menu changes daily, fresh seafood, and a solid wine selection makes this a great value restaurant. My friends and I dine there quite often and Yellow Porch is always an interesting mix of people and flavors. If you go for lunch you have to get their sour cream potato salad, yum the best.
- Pros: Food, Location, service
- Cons: parking and lack of outdoor quality space
Best Restaurant in Nashville, HANDS DOWN!
by linnyb
Yellow Porch has the best food in Nashville by a landslide. If you are looking to take out of towners to a restaurant around town, this is the place. The Crawfish cakes are amazing, try their mussels too! AND my favorite of course is the shrimp and grits. My fiance is a steak lover and says they have the best filet around as well. If you don't know what wine to order, ask the wait staff, they are happy to help and always have great suggestions. You can't go wrong here!
- Pros: the porch, the food, the service
- Cons: can be pricey if you order too much!
Great place, friendly service, and good food!

Wow! We had a dinner Wednesday evening at this place. It was recommended to me by my stylist. Wonderful ambiance, romantic and unlike ''traditional'' Nashville. Our server, Johnny, was friendly and upbeat;we were very satisfied with food (appetizers, drinks, entrees, dessert); it was quiet on this weekday evening and we enjoyed light breeze sitting on a porch. Restaurant's hostess, bartender, and other waiters were just as friendly but not overbearing. And best of all-after having a dinner our bill came was not out of this world. Way to go Yellow porch!
- Pros: food, service, ambience, romantic
Best Nashville Restaurant!
by kjzepp8
This restaurant has always been my favorite in Nashville! I have a new job as a Concierge in town and I send everyone who asks for a recommendation to the Yellow Porch! Guests at the hotel make it a point to come back and let me know how much they enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere of the restaurant! The food is outstanding, especially the nightly specials, the wine list is amazing, and I always have excellent service. I can't say enough, this place is great!
