Very Unique, Spiritually Enlightening Place
by hayscom at Citysearch
To my knowledge, there is no place like Alektor Cafe in middle Tennessee. What a wonderful place. You can enjoy tasty food (even with some vegan selections!) in a spiritually enlightening environment: smell incense, view ancient icons, read ancient manuscripts, and investigate spiritual deep thinkers. If you're looking for food for the soul as well as the body, this is the place to go.
- Pros: friendly, great books, good prices
- Cons: limited parking, limited seating
Quiet place, good food!

This is the kind of place I go when I want to have a nice quiet, low-key dinner with a friend. It's family owned and operated, you might see the kids taking your order and their mom cooking it in the back. The father is an ordained priest in the Orthodox Church. Before they started serving food, this was strictly a bookstore (you'll see all sorts of books on the walls). Seating is VERY limited, so bring two friends at most. Since they're small, no charge cards are accepted. But the food is GREAT. Try the spinach lasagna- mm, good. And whatever you do, don't go away without having some Russian Spice Tea (a secret family recipe!).
- Pros: homey atmosphere, good food
- Cons: limited seating, credit not accepted, limited hours
