well don't know why this restaurant has bad ratings but will definitely suggest to order from this place because I have them cater my conference meeting when I stayed in nashville the pizza was great real new york style as well as service. will order them again

Terrible NY DELI experiance

We have ordered the pizza before and it was decent. However tonight I ordered fish and chips. Mistake. 2 of the pieces of fish were not breaded and smelled so bad I couldnt eat them. Also ordered a french dip sandwich. The bread was burnt black and made the sandwich unedible. Also ordered potato skins that came with only melted chz on them. We called to say that the fish was bad and they laughed at us saying it was our "taste buds" that were bad. I work in the restaraunt industry here in Nashville and have NEVER fealt the need to complain, until tonight. Not to mention the food took almost 2 hours to get here after an estimate of 30 minutes. We will NEVER order from NY DELI again. I can still taste the spoiled fish....gross.

Ordered from them several times and and the food has been great every time. Whether its the pizza, wings, or calzones, they have been impressive every time!!. The takeout service has been great and the service!!

Not what we expected

My family and I stayed at a local hotel in downtown Nashville where NYC of Nashville was recommended by the hotel. In our opinion the pizza was a tasteless flat food that looked and tasted poor -it was THE worst pizza we have eaten! To make it worse, for some reason the order between the hotel and NYC was incorrect, and we paid almost $30 for 1 large pizza, 2 small house salads, and 2 pops. When I called the store to discuss, the Manager was uncooperative and unfriendly. When back in Nashville, we will make certain not to eat from this location again!

Horrible, always rude, always take waaaaay too long, usually don't even answer. the place is probably a front for another kind of business(guess). Someone open a 24 hour delivery to run these guys out of town.

Are You Kidding?

Tonight I was in the mood for some New York style thin crust so I called this company. My first question after being greeted was, "how long is the wait for delivery?" I was informed that it was going to be an hour to an hour and a half. I was not interested in waiting that long for pizza so I said, "Thank you, have a good night." At this the man on the other side of the phone said "F**k you too." and hung up on me. I would only recommend this place if you like your serving staff to treat you like dirt. I can not really express how shocked and stupefied I am by the level of disrespect this "place of business" showed me tonight. New York Cafe & Deli will not see another dime from me.

I am not typically motivated to spend my time writing online reviews, but I felt that this was an exceptional case. I moved to Nashville 3 years ago, and the late night delivery options are scarce-to-none. This place shut down a year ago for one reason or another, but they are open again. I have previously found their food to be borderline terrible, but if you want food delivered at 2am on a weeknight, they are the only option. I recently found out that they had re-opened, so when I found myself with a late night hunger, I called to place an order. I was put on "hold", while I listened to the employee discuss with someone how drunk they were and who owed who a shot. Mildly doubtful, (and entertained) I waited and eventually attempted to place my order when they guy came back on the line. Once he got my address, he informed me that they were too busy, and I was outside of their delivery area. I explained that I had heard his casual conversation, and did not believe that he was that busy, and had also received many deliveries from them previously. He insisted. I explained that I was very familiar with my location, and his, and that it was, especially at this time of night, approximately a 3 minute drive. He then hung up. I was never impolite. Bottom line: The food is terrible, the only time you would want to order it is if it is the last available option, and even then it may not be an option. Thank you new york cafe!

New York Cafe & Deli can eat my d^ck sandwich!

This place su**s my A$$! I hate them! I have had multiple experiences which I now understand will never get better. I am a fool for repeatedly trying their crappy service and hate them to no end. I hope someone sets their building on fire. I ordered a pizza one night and asked for extra sauce. It was bone dry. Then, stupidly, I ordered from them AGAIN and asked for EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA sauce and still. . . .bone dry. What mother fu**ers. I hate them. as I mentioned earlier. . . they s**K. They did not put extra sauce, it was BONE DRY . . .and I asked for two extra ranch dressings in addition to the ONE served with their hot wings. . and RECIEVED. . .count this with me. . . ZERO! What A$$holes. I hope they die. I hate their faces and I've never even seen them. They s^^k so much A$$ they could easily clean out the entire Nashville sewage system with one sucking. And that is just on one Saturday night. They can eat my a$$ because I will never eat their sh*t again. F^*k you and eat my a$$. Thank you.. . . for f^*king nothing. They are d^ck lickers.

• Cons: they are horrific. . .they are rude. . .I hate them.. . they do not have ranch dressing. . . I am sceptical about saliva or other fluids on my pizza.

The worst service and the Worst Food.

The food was cold, the cheese bread was not only cold but old. The chicken and fries were completely sub-standard. The sandwiches were soggy the fries were limp. The attitude of the order taker is one of complete arrogance and indifference. The old "You will take what we give you the way we give it to you and you will like it. The driver tried to get himself a 10 dollar tip by saying "I have no change". It will be a long time before we order from this restaurant again. I minus 2 stars would be a compliment for this so called meal. After receiving the meal it the only thing that could be done with it was to throw it in the trash because it was unfit for consumption.
