If you like chain garbage like O'Charlies, Ruby Tuesdays or TGI Fridays with a boring wine list (Ecco Domani, Beringer, etc.), you will love this. If you enjoy true regional Italian created with flair and a wine list that is unique (Villa Puccini Pinot Grigio, Terra Nostra Chianti et al) then STAY AWAY!!!

We made a big mistake when my wife asked to be moved to another table to avoid the draft whenever the front door was opened because we had to change servers. At first ours appeared quited hospitable and knowledgeable but got so busy preparing a large table for a large party that we were forgotten. I asked for hot sauce for my gumbo, which was merely average, and was almost finished before my wife hailed another server to bring it. Wanted wine with entree but server never checked back after someone else delivered food. Finally got a glass half way through the meal. Waited forever for check and was brought a drink order list for the server's large party by mistake. Tracked him down again and finally got out of there. If you can tollerate poor service, the food is great.

Pros: Great food, good selection, fast delivery of entree and appetizers.

Cons: Server never checked back after taking order, brought wrong check, totally distracted.

Before Eating here, everytime I drove by this restaurant on westend, I told myself, "I have to eat there". Well I finally did, and feel letdown. The staff was friendly, and the food was okay, but the value is awful. I think I paid like $28 for a filet mignon. I have no problem paying a premium for a steak, but I dont even think it was Prime meat. I had a much better steak at Stoney river for less! I know italian restaurants arent steakhouses, but my food did come with pasta which was okay, but nothing better than what I could get at carraba's. My girlfriend didnt really care for her spaghetti and meatballs either. She told me the meatball was good, but the sauce left alot to be desired.

Pros: Great ambience, nice staff, cool location.

Cons: Too much money for the quality of the food.

We are from Louisville and came into town for the Music City Bowl. We were lucky to find Amerigo. It was very busy because of all the people in town, but we sat in the bar and had a few drinks while we waited. When we got a table we had a great server and a great dining experience. The wine list was great. We had a really great Chardonnay from Italy. I didn't even know they had wines like this from Italy, but it was a great server recommendation. For an appetizer we had the Tennessee Cheese pizza, which was awesome. For dinner we had the Cedar Planked Sea Bass and the Pork Tenderloin. For a dessert, we tried the Creme Brule Cheesecake. All the food and service was great despite how busy it was. While we were there we discovered that Amerigo also has a location in our home town of Louisville. That was great news and we will be sure to visit. All in all a great experience.

Pros: Great food and great service

Cons: Very Busy

When we first moved to Nashville 10 years ago Amerigo's was one of our favorite places to dine. The last two experiences have been less than satisfactory, thus we will not return. The quality of the food had deteriorated to something less than mediocre and the service was sub-par.

I recently went to Amerigo's with my wife and a couple of friends of ours. We walked in and saw that it was still busy @8:45 on a friday night. We waited about 20 minutes and then we were placed at a cozy booth in the back away from the main dining room. There was a large party in what appeared to be a private dining room in the back. They were a little loud but the door was closed to the room for a good portion of the evening. On to the service. Our server was great. I think his name was Nick?? or Nathan? He was able to get out table a bottle of wine that was only about 60 bucks, but it was such a great wine. He said it was one of the best wines on the wine list. HE WAS RIGHT! Kudos!! I ordered a steak! I went in expecting to get pasta, but our server talked me into the Filet. My wife got the veal picatta and was more than impressed. We were looking for dessert after dinner. Our server told us his favorite dessert was their newest. The Creme Brule Cheesecake. I was surprised at how big it was. We ordered two of them and gorged ourselves to our hearts delight. Wonderful job, simply wonderful. If you are looking for a great night out, this is the spot. Great meal at a reasonable price. Thanks a lot Nick? or Nathan? We'll be back!

Pros: Good/friendly/knowledgeable staff, great food and wine

Cons: Parking was difficult to find, kinda busy but worth the wait

My roommate and I were looking for a place to have good lunch. She suggested Amerigos since we send some of our clients there. We went. I dont know if I should have chosen another day or what, but I was not really impressed. The waitor was nice, but my food came back less than warm. Spaghetti is not a huge chef's challenge, but geez.... Can't I atleast get warm meatballs??!! I just made my experience the best I could. I dont see how I couldnt have gotten everyone's best foot forward especially since we were the only two there at the time. Final verdict: I have no clue. What happened here?!

Pros: Convenient, Good Service

Cons: My food was cold

Obviously there is no excuse for us getting your Spaghetti wrong. We make our meatballs from scratch every day several times a day and we are very sorry for messing yours up. We certainly strive for perfection in both food and service every day no matter what time of day and how many people are in the building. If you would please email me I would love to take care of your meal and hopefully convince you to give us another try. My email address is pschramkowski@vividrc.com

I asked the hotel front desk for the best italian restaurant in town and she told me Amerigo. Glad I didn't pay attention to that earlier review. I didn't see any mozzarella cheese sticks or any of the other items described in that review on the memu. Maybe they ate at one of the chain italian places and got mixed up. Andy was our server and he was great. I found out they have a new menu so I tried some of the new menu items. With Andy's suggestion I started out with the Mozzarella and Tomato Basilico with vine-ripe red and yellow tomatoes, a tasty balsamic vinaigrette and walnut basil pesto. For an entree I had the Lobster Ravioli. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was incredible. My wife had the Filet, which she said was fantastic. For dessert I had Creme Brulee Cheesecake. This had to be the best cheesecake I have ever had!! Really creamy with crunchy carmelized sugar topping. This was a great experience and I will certainly come back the next time I am in town.

Pros: Food, Service and Wine List

Cons: None

Amerigo is my favorite restaurant- the food, service, and overall experience is excellent. Their private dining rooms are perfect for large groups. I go to both locations on a regular basis, and always enjoy myself. Their menu offers a wide variety of food, from seafood and filets to traditional Italian food like pasta and bruschetta. I would definetely reccommend this restaurant for any occassion.

Pros: Service, Food, Ambiance

Cons: None

While the sausage and duck pasta was great, service was mediocre, the noise level was a little too loud and prices were a little too high. It's better for a large group than a date.

Pros: interesting taste combinations

Cons: parking, value
