Wonderful Expierence
by WCDSD45
We found this place by accident. Touring the south we wanted to expierence the music scene and were driving aimlessly about and ran into a noon time traffic mess. After trying to make a left turn a few times we came to the Tin Angel. The sign "Valet Parking" grabbed my attention and we said "This must be the place"
We had never been in the south or Nashville and were looking for what we thought "The Southern Expierence" was. It was here. Attentive greeting at the door and quick seating even though it was 12:00PM. Wait staff was nice to a fault and made some suggestions for "Southern Food" I selected the Etuffe [ which is not always on the menu] it was outstanding. Not to wet, not to dry and with a good mix of seafood and vegetables. The only thing lacking was a good dry California Chardonnay or Viogior. If I ever get to Memphis with a few days we will go back.
- Pros: Etuffe was best ever
- Cons: Did not find any
More like Tin Demon

After hearing about Tin Angel for many years I finally decided to give it a try. It sucked! I really don't understand why the place was so full, unless it's just a typical Nashville networking spot.
The wait was ridiculous. It took forever to finally get out food, and when it came it wasn't all that. And, for the price, both the quantity and the quality of the food should have been better. Lookin at the portion size of my $14.95 entree, I began wondering if I had ordred an appetizer! Additionally, they don't have anything complimentary. Not even bread. We just sat there waiting thinking that surely a place like this would at least bring you some bread to eat before your meal, especially if you have to wait so long for your food, but no!
The service was lame too. Even after we were seated and were waiting for eons for our food to arrive, the waiter did not once stop by our table to check in on us or let us know what the status of our order was. We even had to ask for refills on our water.
Anyway, Tin Angel sucked! I don't recommend it. Save your money and go somewhere else; where you'll at least get some bread or chips while you wait on your food, and still not have to pay as much as Tin Angel. I know I'm NEVER going back to this miserable place.
- Pros: Devoid of any good qualities worth mentioning
- Cons: Sub standard menu and service at exorbitant prices
The Caddyshack Crew on Acid

The Tin Angel is what happens when people have more money than they have sense, but I guess even the hoi-polloi need a place to cackle about sprouts and balsamic vinaigrette. The menu at this dump is ridiculous and the only people who go there more than once go because they think they should. I went one Sunday for lunch and thought I?d stepped into a Fellini movie. It was the ?B? list from the Swine Ball. I didn?t even know dead people could eat. Except for people who wear tennis sweaters in June, no one in their right mind would go to this place.
Great date spot

Tin Angel is a great Nashville restaurant.
The food is fabulous and reasonably priced. Few other restaurants in town are as fun and delicious as this one. Everything on the menu is fresh, and I love that the menu is constantly evolving. I particularly love the bowl entrees.
The food is not Tin Angel's only highlight; the service is impeccable. All of the servers have been incredibly familiar with everything on the menu, and they have all been exceptionally accommodating.
Great date spot!
- Pros: Best service and fresh food
- Cons: They sometimes don't serve bread
Delicious Food

I took a group here on a business dinner and it was fantastic. I'm quite picky too. Being at out-of-towner, I relied on city search, as I ususally do. I was very pleased. My entire party enjoyed their food. (I highly recommend the goat cheese salad. Yum.) Other than being cold when the door was opened by a patron, I was very pleased and will go back again if I'm ever in Nashville.
USED to be great...

I've been to Tin Angel a handful of times and always had a great experience, until my last visit about a week ago. After waiting a pretty long time to receive our entrees, they brought my boyfriend the wrong entree. Our server didn't seem to fazed by the incident and only brought him a piece of bread while we waited. I ended up finishing my entree by the time his arrived. When we got our check, I figured that something would have been comped or we would have been given a discount, but nope, everything was charged. My boyfriend and I are both servers and when these kinds of things happen to our tables, we make sure the customer gets the benefit of OUR mistake. This was an expensive, disappointing experience, we will NOT be returning.
- Pros: innovative plates, drinks
- Cons: SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lovely regardless of the occasion

The ambiance is consistently warm and intimate, and I've never had bad service. The waitstaff is accommodating -- and they've even begun to recognize us when we come in. Their eggplant parmesan is some of the best I've had -- so good, in fact, that I care very little that they've become inconsistent in adding other vegetarian options. We'll keep going back as long as we live in Nashville! This restaurant is a testament to the quality you get when you avoid large, generic chains.
- Pros: good wine, good food, ambiance
- Cons: parking, small bar, no reservations
Good food, service, ambience, location

Pleasant meal in Nashville. The lamp chops were pretty darn good and the mashed potatoes were pleasing. I am purposefully overlooking the fact that the restaurant has no clue what seafood gumbo is, but the seafood soup with rice was decent. I really like the building decor. The wait staff was hip and friendly. I would recommend this place to people.
- Pros: food, service, location
- Cons: seafood soup
Great Food, Good Service

My friend and I went to The Tin Angel the other night it was a Wednesday night and they were very slow. We could not decide what wine to get so we asked for a sample of a Shraz, the waitress brought us ONE glass for both of us to sample the wine!! That might have been okay if we had been a couple but we were only co-workers. We both ordered the Mahi Mahi with a japanelo & pineapple chuney. The fish was served on a bed of coconut rice. Our meal was wonderful, one of the best pieces of fish I have had in months! The wine was good and we also ordered the house flat bread pizza which was alos wonderful. The food was a great value and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Will definitely go again soon!
- Pros: Mahi Mahi, interesting menu
- Cons: service was good but quirky personality, ZERO Parking
Amazing Food...AWFUL Customer Relations
by gypsyfood
If you are going out any day of the week for a quick bite, this elegant little restaurant is ideal. The food is always consistent and the fish special is almost always to die for. The pricing is completely reasonable from everything from the apps to the entrees. However, the service is absolutely atrocious. Where did these people come from? Upon entrance, my wife and I were snapped at by the hostess, after she had ignored our presence for approximately 5 minutes. I am terribly sorry to have inconvienced this girl to do her job. After giving her the benefit of the doubt and pleading our case, she snapped again quite rudely that they were on a wait. On a Friday or Saturday night, that is to be expected for a place that is quality, however, we were quite offended at this girl's manners. Talking to patrons like infants is NOT good customer service.
After waiting patiently, we were seated. Thank you very much rude little hostess. However, the food almost made up for her behavior, almost...if we had gotten a competent server! Her inadequacies on the wine list were absolutely unforgivable. After selecting our entrees we had asked the server what kind of wine she thought should be paired with our meals...seeing as how we had gotten the steak salad and the angel wing to start off with...and then a couple of things to split. She looked at us like a deer in the headlights! She had absolutely no knowledge of the wine list whatsoever.(PS- It's pronounced tem-prah-NEE-yoh...even though it's spelled Tempranillo. All I wanted was a wine that would go with all of the food that we ordered! I am sorry if that is asking too much, but I halfway expect a place like the Tin Angel to have servers on hand with that kind of knowledge. After the meal was delivered to our table promptly, we forgot everything else that had happened, it appeared to have all been a bad dream. The food is absolutely delicious. I have never had a bad meal there, just awful experiences
- Pros: Amazing food prepared correctly in little to no time... Many Options
- Cons: RUDE hostess, Wine list, Poor Server Knowledge
