BEST IN NASHVILLE
by cbzimmer
Honestly, having lived all over the world, this is the best most consistent japenese resteraunt in the city of Nashville. I do live downtown, so parking is not an issue for us, we walk every saturday to dine with Koto,
I have never had a bad roll or dinner there in the last year.....unlike the majority of places in this town (like "sushi" rolls at "grocery" stores) this place has the most fresh made to order sushi in town...my boyfriend loves eating the sushi here....i prefer rolls to fish....The staff is always friendly and provide stellar service...would recomend this place to anyone that likes good food, service and a friendly atmosphere!
- Pros: Ambience, service, food, decor...etc
Great Japanese Food!

Koto's new location is very beautiful and nice inside (no more fish tanks or clutter / very clean and simple). Their udon soups and squid salad is the best I've ever had. Pricing is very reasonable and quality is high.
not so fresh
by rachelk4
Do not eat here if you have a high standard for sushi. The rolls tasted soggy, and the fish was not fresh. I will say that some of the cooked food was good, the korean bbq, but as far as sushi goes, it tasted on par with the sushi you get at kroger.
- Pros: good service
- Cons: fish not fresh, soggy rolls, bad location pay for parking
Good Food & Good Price
by Janellee
I normally cannot stand any form of sushi even the rolls with cooked fish. A friend recommended the place because they have good prices and the food was good. Well I went and decided to be bold, and I tried an eel roll (cooked one) and it was good! I say try the place! The bathroom was even nice and the atmosphere was relaxing.
- Pros: Nice Amience and good price
- Cons: you have to park on the street, but great for city workers to walk to
Lots of food for the price
by JeniGail
I took my friend to Koto on Union for her birthday and it was great. Between the 2 of us we had: 2 glasses of wine, water, coke, 1 order of yellowtail tuna, 1 chicken teryiaki dinner box (chicken teryiaki, rice, mixed tempura and spicy tuna roll) and 1 scallop teryiaki (same as chicken with crunchy shrimp roll instead of tuna) and our bill came to less than $50. It was a lot of food and it was so very good. I can't wait to go back for lunch.
- Pros: Decor, Lot of food for price, Service
- Cons: Parking can be tough if you don't know where to look

Great food. Love the special rolls.
New address is 421 Union Street, but I have not been to the new location yet.
Great food, great service, and great prices!

I love this place! Very affordable, and the food served is incredibly fresh and won't burn a hole in your wallet. This is definately one of my favorite places to dine at in Nashville !
They recently started serving Korean food, which is okay. But their sushi is outstanding!
- Pros: Fresh food, great service, great food, nice atmosphere
- Cons: Parking, washrooms (though they are moving to a new place )
Dive in for a relaxing sushi getaway.

In Short
Gurgling fish tanks and indecipherable Japanese tunes contribute to the relaxing atmosphere: a true getaway, whether shoeless in the dining area or shoed at the sushi bar. The chefs magically work raw fish, rice and seaweed into mouthwatering sushi--a mix of usual California and crunchy shrimp rolls and special rolls including Alaskan smoked salmon, tomato and shallots. A diverse selection of noodle dishes and unpronounceable Japanese specialties present diners with a chance to experiment.
Koto to go
by misseyecandie
I work downtown and would highly suggest Koto lunch to go! I am faithful to Koto on my evening ventures as well, but the service at noon on a Tuesday is remarkable. I can call in my order on my drive from the West End and pick it up when I walk in the door. Note that the crunchy crab is even just as delicious to go.
- Pros: cost, efficiency, value
- Cons: parking, uninviting restrooms

The best sushi in Nashville. If you doubt it try the crunchy crab. THE best flavor you could put in your mouth. We live over 80 miles away and we still make sure we get here at least once a month. Other places may be prettier but when it comes to taste. Nothing better.
- Pros: crunchy crab
- Cons: none
