This store keeps the light on for the legends.

The Scene
The downtown location of the Ernest Tubb Record Shop can only benefit from its neighbor, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. But unlike the Museum, nothing about the legendary store is shiny or state-of-the-art. It's "old country." If it's in print, this store will have it in stock--but only if it's country or bluegrass. Before it moved to the Opryland location, the Midnight Jamboree radio show was held in the back of the store.

Ernest Tubb Record Shop is where you CAN FIND OLD COUNTRY music. COUNTRY BOX SETs from Bear. Those are the 100-300 song box set that cost $120-300 from Germany. These box set are the best value if you are a true fan of country music. This is where it all began with live shows at midnight and it looks like you are back in the 1940s with the pictures on the wall. CDs are priced a little high, watch out for those low budget CDs. of your favorite artist singing no songs you know. RECORD / ALBUMS can be found of great country aritst. A GREAT PLACE to see and hear how record shops are supose to be before Wal-Mart. (2006 July 18)
- Pros: REAL COUNTRY music can be found here. A REAL RECORD STORE. BEAR BOX SETS.
