Perfect Place to Cut Loose!!
by Susanlhw
The Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar (aka BSBBB to those of us who love it) is the perfect place to go and have a great time with a group, large or small. My husband and I go regularly and have discovered that the staff operates more as a family, than just the typical bar staff. We love the music, specifically the house band, Josh Garrett and the Bottom Line, who always delivers a show that almost literally takes you to New Orleans during each and every appearance. We have always had a good time, even on weeknights. My favorite aspect of BSBBB is the atmosphere which is real, not "created" and reminds me so much of a party instead of just a bar with a band on stage. Go often, but make sure you go Thursday - Saturday, have a good time, and tip the staff and band well, they work their tails off!! If you like the Blues, Soul, Zydeco or Rock, you'll be hooked and you'll want to go back!!
- Pros: Great Parking Garage right at Printers Alley
- Cons: None that I have found
Great house band
by gvilleclay
If you like good blues music and a cool atmosphere, this place is the place. The house band, Josh Garrett and The Bottom Line is made up of some super talented musicians who hail from Louisiana - and they flavor their blues show with a little of that Cajun spice. Josh is a showman, and knows how to work the bar into a party-like atmosphere. Matt on the sax is unbelievably good - scary good, and Mark on the trumpet has more energy than a 3 year old hyped up on sugar. The bar itself is intimate, not so full of tourists, and really reminds me of a place you'd see in the French Quarter in New Orleans. The staff is friendly and sometimes very busy - especially on a crowded Saturday. As far as the food goes, we've had the fries and the wings and both were good and we didn't wait long at all. Come for the show. I'd suggest a Thursday or Friday night. If you like good blues and a dash of zydeco, go see Josh Garrett & The Bottom Line at Bourbon Street Boogie & Blues Bar!! You will not be disappointed.
- Pros: Best blues house band in town
- Cons: A little drafty when it's cold outside.
One of the Worst place I have ever been to.

Earlier reviews must have been written by management or place has run down since. Went on 30 December 2008 about 7PM and was told they had "just opened" which means they opened an hour late. Was told the band would not be playing until 9PM apparantly they were showing up late as well. Looked at menu and found it to be different than website. Ordered Apps and after waiting 30 minutes cancelled order. Overheard management practically begging for help on the phone. Informed Management we were unhappy but she did not even attempt to compensate us for THEIR problems. I would NEVER go back to such a unprofessional, unappealing and unsatisfying establishment.
- Pros: Umm...quiet?
- Cons: Everything... you name it.
Great Blues Bands

Simply the best Blues bar in and around Nashville. Burning Las Vegas was superb! I took a friend here on my visit back to Nashville and he loved it. This visit made me extremely home sick as I consider Nashville my home. Excellent acoustics, the food is good, the stage and seating are a bit small but it adds a personal touch.
- Pros: Great Music and Service
- Cons: Small accomodations, does tend to get a bit crowded
a taste of New Orleans

This is a great spot! The food is awesome. Try the catfish and the gumbo. Yum! The music has always been good, and the crowd is friendly. It can get crowded. If you want a table you better reserve one in advance. Definitely the place in Nashville to let the good times roll...
- Pros: good music, spicy food
- Cons: not a lot of tables

Amazing Band!

We happened across the Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar and decided to stay for the show... Boy, were we glad we did! At first it appeared all the good seats were reserved, but after inquiring with the waitress, she found that two members of a reserved party had not shown, and moved us into some excellent seats directly above the band! Stacey Mitchhart and Blues U Can Use kept us bobbin' all night!! It's great to see a band that is so talented and enthusiastic!! Best show I've seen in years!!
Nashville's premier blues venue attracts tourists and locals alike.

In Short
Printer's Alley was once Nashville's most thriving nightclub scene, and this raucous blues club helps keep that legacy alive. The bar, which aims to transport visitors to New Orleans with its Crescent City decor, also serves up New Orleans style Cajun cuisine. The kitchen stays open until midnight. The house band, Stacey Mitchhart and Blues U Can Use, plays several times a week, and their smoking set has attracted a wide following.
