This place is very reasonable. They also bring as much bread as you want and the service was great. Their special was only $4.25!! Not a super large portion, but you also got a side salad. If your down on broadway check it out!

I think the comment below was written by a competitor. I'm from Alabama and many times my parents to Nashville they ask about going to Demos. The food is wonderful for the inexpensive price they charge. We've always been impressed with the servers too.
Pros: Food, service
Cons: n/a

i went to Demos on the recommendation of the tour guide, it apparently had quite a reputation So i expected much. I could not have been more disappointed. We waited two hours for the abysmal, overcooked, over-season "food" (thats being generous). The service was slow and the entire staff i found discourteous and disinterested. Post meal, my friend and I were actually physically ill and had to spend the rest of the evening in retching in agony in the hotel room. If it were possible to give negative stars, I would! Anyone giving this restaurant stars must be paid staff.
Pros: exit door
Cons: anything on a plate

I appreciate the attempt at uniqueness with steak and spaghetti. They do one (spaghetti) rather well here. But they should probably stick with that. The steak here is one of the worst I've ever had. Three bites and I couldn't continue. However, the spaghetti got finished. The cheese dip whatever was also one of the more peculiar things I've eaten, or started to eat rather. Chopped tomatoes and cheese concotion with tortilla chips. Now maybe this is just the Texan in me coming out, but how in god's name can you advertise this as queso? It's almost blasphemy. Nashville definitely has much better restaurants in the Vanderbilt area, but this one did not get the mark. Good location though.
Pros: spaghetti, location
Cons: steak, appetizers

Have eaten here many times and found the same good food and service each time. Perhaps the best value in town. Menu has sufficient variety and food quality as well as service quality are excellent and a very resonable price.
Pros: Value second to none, food quality excellent, service fast
Cons: Can be a bit noisey and overrun at times

We went to Demo's on a Monday night; after arriving in town. A friend had recommended this restaurant. We both ordered the sirloin steak and it did not disapoint. It was cooked to order, juicy and had a delicous marinade or seasoning on it. Our waiter was very attentive. We sat right away when we arrived. The bread was very good - either a parmesan or asiago cheese bread. The salad was average - but the homemade dressings were very good. Try the blue cheese. We were not impressed with the side dish of pasta - I ordered the browned butter and my friend had the meat sauce. We would go back here again - reasonable prices/reasonable food - and excellent steaks.
Pros: prices, steaks, homemade salad dressing, service
Cons: spaghetti

While the service was adequate, the nicest thing I can say about the food is that it was better than starving.....if only marginally. The spinach dip was a horrible assemblage of soured garlic, olive oil and spinach which had been run through the microwave. The chicken soup was a tiny (thankfully) bowl-filling nightmare composed of overcooked chicken combined with undercooked rice in an over-salted broth. However, the most frightening part of the meal arrived in the form of a flavorless, steak which was still wearing marks from where the jockey had been striking it only a day earlier. The only saving grace for the chicken was its preparer (I refuse to use the word chef in this review) who had, in a supposed fit of guilt, attempted to cover it in a tomato based abomination which I'm sure is illegal in reputable Italian restaurants. However, the employees in the kitchen *did* succeed in baking the potato sufficiently......and after sampling the rest of their fare, I can only assume the potato was a fortuitous bit of luck. I can't fault the servers as we were well cared for. Yet, I can find no redeeming attributes in any of the kitchen staff or their choice for food quality even *before* they began to violate the laws of culinary aesthetics. I would rate their abilities, on a scale, as being comparable to an understocked Shoney's which had chosen to staff their restaurant with ill-mannered employees from any one of the local temporary services. Demo's.....skip it. You'll only be missing heartburn, headaches and disappointment.

I don't get it. Went only once for lunch. Very little interesting on the menu, ended up getting spaghetti, which was so sweet it was inedible. Very ordinary and less than most casual family dining places. Not reason for me to return.
Pros: None I can think of
Cons: Sickly sweet spaghetti sauce

I have visited Demos' several times over the past few years, and they never fail to disappoint. Bland food, salads with iceberg lettuce...I still do not understand how this restaurant continues to get the ratings it does. There are far better options for Italian and steakhouses in Nashville.
Cons: food, ambience
