Expensive, but a novel idea

by brentwood_mama at Citysearch

I went to this restaurant a couple of nights ago. I thought the food was good, but it didn't wow me at all. I thought the cheese and chocolate fondues were good and the meat was just ok. It's such a novel idea to cook your own food in this way but, honestly, I'd rather spend the money at a restaurant where the food is better. Our bill came to just under $100 (2 people). The service was excellent- the manager came over a couple of times to see how we were doing and asked if everything was ok. Our waitress was also excellent. It was a fun experience but overpriced. I'd recommend buying your own fondue set at Target and trying to replicate this experience at home.

Great for Tourists

by paradoxzap at Citysearch

Yuck... overpriced and who the heck wants to pay this kind of money and have to do so much work in preparing your own food? As a local, won't be back... but I'm sure it would be of interest to people from small towns who are visiting Nashville

  • Pros: A unique experience for some
  • Cons: Pricey, too touristy and trendy

Please!!!!!!!

by setneilav at Citysearch

We have been to other Melting Pots, but the Nashville branch was nothing like the ones that we visited before. We were seated promptly and the food was adequate. They brought in a big party of people and seated them right beside us and they were very disruptive. The manager that we spoke with did not handle the situation well and skirted the issue. We figured if we spent $90.00 to eat that we should have had our issue at least addressed. Plus the fact that there were no windows and we felt very closed in.

  • Pros: seated on time
  • Cons: manager insenstive, waiter ambivalant, felt closed in

If you have 3 hours to kill

by wsmith99 at Citysearch

From the time we walked in the door until the time we left, it was 3 hours. Even though we had reservations, it took 45 minutes to seat us anyway and even then, it was at a table too small for our party. Needless to say, the service was not what I would expect for the price. The food however, was very good as was the atmosphere.
