I really like this store! It is convenient and has a variety of musical instruments. Sales could be better! Sales people are helpful. A little unorganized. This is not the place for high end guitars. Pros that the store exists not too many musical instrument stores!!

Complete Douchebags and Defective Gear

by Reapz at Citysearch

So, I went to this store wanting a new guitar and a pedal. I got there at about 8:45 and they were supposed to be open until 10 that day. Within 20 minutes of looking around for an expensive guitar the salesman starts bitching at my friend and I to hurry up because he wanted to leave early. For some reason or another, I still decided to buy a $700 guitar, even though he was too busy bitching for me to get a thorough look at it. I got home and gave it a good look and noticed a few scratches that I didn't before. No big deal, I did talk the guy down $50 and they weren't too noticeable.

Then I started playing it and really noticing issues. It buzzed like crazy. Upon further inspection, I noticed the frets were actually coming up and the strings kept getting caught underneath them, among other things.

I supposedly had 45 days to get it fixed, trade it in, or whatever due to their "100% satisfaction guarantee". What a crock that ended up being. I don't have a car and they are about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours from me so it took me a couple weeks to get a ride and get back to them.

I called and talk to the salesman and told him about the issues I was having with it and asked if I could exchange it or get it repaired. He, being the dick he was, argued with me about everything and told me that I was out of luck and I should have came back sooner. I pointed out that both he and the receipt said I had 45 days to do so and it was well before that ran out. So, of course, he changed his tune and started telling me not to try to get a refund or exchange because he worked on commission and I'd be screwing him. He also told me not to come back unless he was there so he'd be getting any other commission, as well. I told him I had to get a ride out there and I couldn't really convince my friends to work around HIS schedule. Of course, he was pissy as hell. Apparently, this guy thinks the world revolves around him and the customers are supposed to be doing him favors. It didn't matter one bit if I was satisfied.

So, I made it a point to go in when that guy wasn't there so I wouldn't get any more attitude. I talked to a woman at the front desk and she was actually very helpful. She, in turn, talked to the manager for me and assured me that everything would be fixed free of charge... I wish.

So, I get a call the next day and the guitar tech tells me I need to pay $40 to get it fixed. I was like, "Ummm, no. This is a brand new guitar, why should I have to pay to repair something that shouldn't have been wrong in the 1st place?" Of course, he didn't budge and blew me off saying he would call me back in about 30 minutes. That never happened.

After a few hours I got pretty pissed so my friend decided to talk to them for me because he had a guitar down there as well that was taking them forever to finish. He talked to the manager and he said everything was going to get fixed for free. Free? Yes. Fixed? No.

We finally got tired of waiting for them to call us back after a couple more weeks and my friend picked my guitar up for me. They decided to close early that day, even though we called them in advance and they said they'd be open. After calling over there while standing at the door, they did, at least, give him our guitars back without too much hassle. He had to drive an hour out there and didn't want to come back, yet again.

He gave me my guitar and it was in even worse shape after they did the "fret job" then before. I put a new set of strings on it before giving it to them and got it back with them black and rusted. The guy ignored everything I told him was wrong and opposed to fixing the coming up buzzing frets and Floyd Rose issues he just filed off the edge of the frets on the right side really rough and sloppy.Yay, now I have a $700 guitar that buzzes so bad I can't even stand to play it.

Seriously, go to Guitar Center or somewhere else and save yourself some trouble.
