My husband and I went to Nashville Shores for the first time last summer (2007) though we have been in the area our whole lives. We got season passes, which were well worth it for us because we went to the park regularly. Sometimes for a whole day and sometimes for just an hour or two. If you plan on going more than once I recommend getting the season pass, it does save money in the long run. Since there isn't really very many family fun outdoor activites in the area anymore (since our beloved Opryland USA was closed and demolished) Nashville Shores is a real gem. There is something to do for the whole family. They don't have a lot of slides but you won't get bored they always have activites going on. We enjoy going just to get away from the everyday routine and just have fun and relax. If you have kids, they will love it. Check it out if you are ever in the area, you won't be sorry!
Pros: Plenty to do, Great place to relax and have fun!
Cons: Being on the lake sometimes it gets to be too windy to do some of the activites, like the ferry ride or the banana boats and Kayaking. But that is very rare.

We went swimming and boating and had a picnic, I like the idea of having the choice of a pool and the beach to play and swim. The only bad thing about Nashville Shores is the weather won't permit them to stay open all year long. They need some winter activities like horseback riding and hiking. It was a lot of fun and we will visit again next summer.
Pros: Liked it a lot

Short and sweet: the rides are worthless, except for the Big Scream. This includes the Hippo. It's laughable how much they play it up when in real life it's not nearly as tall as they lead you to believe. Now, aside from the ~$20 admission cost, you will pay $5 for parking, $5 + a $5 deposit for a locker rental (!), and the snacks are exorbitant. When you finally figure out that the slides are boring and have long lines, you will get to pay $7 for a banana boat ride. It's a shame that a great city doesn't get the water park it's worthy of.
Pros: Big Scream is great, but be prepared for a long line
Cons: Water's cleanliness is questionable; more expensive then you think

I spent a day here on vacation while on a national conference, and the banana boat was definitely the highlight of the day. It may cost you $7 per person, but it's an awesome ride. The water slides are good too...especially the Big Scream (I think that's the one...it's yellow...trust me, you'll know it when you see it).
