Since opening in 1932, this fast-growing chain has earned cult status throughout the Southeast for its creative menu, low prices and consumer-friendly to-go packaging. The famous small, square Krystal burger sits atop a hot (square) bun and is typically ordered in "sackful" increments. Other unique menu items include breakfast "Scramblers"--combinations of eggs, grits, pancakes and more stacked in an easy-to-manage portable cup--Krystal Pups (hot dogs), Chik'n Bites and fries (served in a stand-up carton).
