I have been extremely disappointed with the care I have received from Brentwood Family Medical. Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry was recommended to me by a couple of friends, so I decided to visit her office. However, 4 out of the last 5 times I have visited, I have been seen by a nurse practitioner and not an actual doctor. The one time Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry did treat me, she was not very friendly and I feel that she did not do a very thorough examination. Her answers were very vague, and she seemed disinterested. I was obviously not very impressed. The nurse practitioner always recommends over-the-counter medicines that never really treat my symptoms instead of prescribing some helpful medicine. Besides the inadequate medical staff, I have also been disappointed with the long wait time at this clinic. The only positive side is that some of the nursing staff are friendly.
Pros: Some of the nurses are nice
Cons: Long wait time, the doctor is not thorough or helpful

I would have to agree completely with Nashville girl. After moving to the Nashville area, I was eager to find a doctor for continuous treatment of my severe migraines. A friend who is a pharmaceutical sales rep referred me to Dr. Wolfe. She stated that she is rude to the sales reps, but based on an article posted in the office, Dr. Wolfe had received great patient reviews - plus she was less than a block away from my office. I was extremely disappointed at my initial appointment. Dr. Wolfe was abrupt, invasive and extremely inappropriate in many of her comments about my condition and previous treatment. She indicated that I would just have to deal with my headaches and just muster through. I had to repeatedly ask for referrals and provide her with insight on alternative treatments such as visiting an Ear, Nose & Throat doctor. After further research, I located another doctor who has been instrumental in setting up a regimen that significantly decreased the severity and frequency of my headaches. The front desk staff was extremely unapproachable, however, most of the nurses/aids were very nice.
Pros: location and availabilty of appointment times
Cons: RUDE!

I've never written a review before but felt compelled to after seeing the bad review left by someone below. I've been going to Dr. Wolfe for about 6 years now and cannot imagine having another doctor. I'm not the easiest patient. I've had problems all over the board. Some easy to diagnose, some not. They always have gotten me in rather quickly and the staff is incredibly friendly. They are good at what they do. Dr. Wolfe is the type of doctor we need more of I think. She really isn't afraid to tell you what needs to be done and is looking out for your health. She treated me for a long time with bronchitis and then finally told me if she saw me again, I was getting my tonsils out. Sure enough, she made me get surgery. They recommended a fantastic surgeon and I've not had the issue since. She also caught it when I went to the emergency room for something else and the treatment I was given could have caused a serious ADE. (It was a holiday, office closed). The ER had only made it worse, instead of better. The point is, I trust this staff and this doctor. I'd advise anyone to go here.
Pros: Great healthcare practice devoted to patients
Cons: none I can think of.

My family and I have been patients for over 10 years, my sons who both played football had regular visits. My wife is demanding and is not afraid to express her opinion and we have all been very pleased with the diagnosis, the service, the timely referrals on matters out of their scope of expertise and the straight talk from Dr. Wolfe. The nursing staff calls in refills very timely and follows up when I have not made my quarterly trips to evaluate my diabetes control. I've dealt with the medical industry from a medical cost management consulting standpoint for over 30 years; and I trust this staff with my family without reservation. I'm a bit amazed by the poor write up; 10 years averaging 4 visits each per year and that type rating makes me highly suspect of it's accuracy.
Pros: talented and caring staff
Cons: straight talk, puts you in charge of your health habits

I was a bit shocked to read nashville gal's review. I have been going to Brentwood Family Care Clinic for some time, and I have enjoyed my care there. The physicians and PAs there seem to really be good at ruling out "bad stuff", and the rest of the staff is kind and curteous. The docs can be a bit gruff at times (I think Dr. Wolfe is a doll), but they just want to ensure that your healthcare needs are met. They do perform a lot of tests, but part of this, I believe, is to ensure there is nothing really bad going on with you. Plus, in my experience, they refer you to specialists when needed (or even requested). Their building is a bit on the old side of things, but the exam rooms are clean. Bottom line is that I appreciate them, and I would recommend them to anyone. Plus, most of the medical professionals are female - which is so nice when getting a pap or addressing other "woman concerns".
Pros: Professional Staff, Short Wait Time, Mostly Female Staff
Cons: Older Building

I was having abdominal pains and was also trying to get pregnant. At my first visit, Dr. Wolfe said "Most people suggest you go to a specialist, but I can get more from insurance, so you should have me treat you." That seemed odd, but I ignored it. She then said my pains suggested I had damaged ovaries that would likely never produce children. She said I would need a surgery or two to attempt to repair them and sent me for an ultrasound to check things out. The day after the ultrasound, no phone call. The next day, I kept calling and calling and no response. I finally went over there and a nurse said "Oh, you just have an ovarian cyst. You're fine." I am SOOOO glad the doctor scared me saying I would likely never have kids. Oh and the kicker ... I was already pregnant.
Pros: able to get an appointment quickly
Cons: scared me to death with misdiagnosis
