User Reviews for Sportsman's Grille and Lodge

Maybe Sportsman's should train some of their kitchen staff how to manage and serve. The food tasted great, but the waitress was rude. I was shocked by comments made by both her and her supervisor! There is enough GREAT food in Cool Springs with Great Service, so I plan to never go back to this restuarant again. Perhaps there is a reason there were only 3 other tables of patrons in the restuarant??

Pros: Nice setting for winter, big fireplace

Cons: AWEFUL SERVICE!

Relaxing atmosphere with outdoorsy decor. Absolutely have to try the catfish. It's the best in the world.

Pros: Outstanding food

Cons: A little pricey for the average american

What more could one want in a night out than fabulous food, attentive service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere? This restaurant has it all. When you go, ask for Dena--though I'm sure all of their staff is wonderful. Dena made our evening out a really great experience. She was engaging and knew the menu well. The food--wow!--we had fried pickles, the bbq platter, and the filet kabobs (medium rare for me--mmmm!). Even the beer was very good--and the prices were exceptional for the amount of food we received. It is modeled after the old national park hunting lodges and two of the antler chandelers in the main dining area are from the 1800s. Very cool. Next time you're in Cool Springs, try the Sportsman's Grill and Lodge...you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Great food, service, parking, atmosphere! Loved the fireplaces!

Both are incredible. And, try the cheese fries topped with chilli. Service is usually good, wine selection not so much - go for the beer.

Pros: food

Cons: wine selection

WENT IN APRIL 2006, HAD THE BEST FILET MIGNON EVER. BAKED POTATO AND SALAD WAS FINE. FRIED CHEESE AND NACHO APPETIZERS WERE GREAT. WE HAD A LARGE PARTY AND EVERYONE SEEMED VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR MEAL. GERMAN BEER IN THE FROSTED FISH BOWL MUGS WAS NICE, ALTHOUGH I WISH THEY HAD ALL THE GERMAN BEERS LIKE THE ORIGINAL GERST HOUSE IN NASHVILLE. THEY SEEMINGLY HAVE GOOD HAPPY HOUR PRICES. SERVICE IN THE BAR & DINING TABLES WAS EXCELLENT EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A LARGE DEMDANDING PARTY.

I went to eat at the Sportsman's Grille and Lodge before my prom. There were eight of us. We were promptly seated and our food was quickly served. The food was extremely delectable. I had the Texas Tips which is the tip of filet. The steak was magnifiscent it was the best steak I've ever had. It was cooked well done, but still very juicy and tasty. The bread and the baked potato were both very good. The salad only had 2 tomato's and a lot of lettuce, that I could have done without, other than that it was great. The service, although could have been a little better.

Pros: food

Cons: service

I go here quite often and they have the best food and in a great atmosphere. It is just like a real lodge in yellowstone or Canada. They also have the best beer selection and bar of any restaurants in the area maybe even nashville. But it is still a great place for kids to.

We just got back from our first visit, and I'm happy to say we had a great time. The atmosphere is wonderful, it reminds me of my visits to Colorado. It's a huge log cabin that still manages to feel very cozy. Fireplaces, chandeliers made of antlers, furniture made of logs, animal heads on the walls, and a magnificent bar. The kids absolutely loved it. The food was very good. There were many fish choices, I had Swordfish, the wife had Salmon, the kids ate chili dogs. It was all delicious. The service was fast and funny. The waiter had us laughing the whole time. If you haven't been, it's a must. Well worth the drive from Nashville.

First off...I don't know what they put in the Chicken Tortilla Soup... but it's SO good, it makes you wanna jump up and smack your mamma! TRUST ME on this one. It's a bowl of sin. Secondly, I see there were some so-so reviews posted and it makes me wonder if I visited the same restaurant! The service and food WE had when we visited last weekend were, well, head and shoulders above some of the nearby restaurants in the Cool Springs area. The catfish ALONE is worth the visit. I realize that the service industry is suffering these days from the Corporate mentality of a "cheaper and faster bottom line. It was a pleasant surprise to discover a place so cozy. Go.... enjoy... and try the tortilla soup! I'm not going to tell you again!

Pros: Unique, party seating
