Best Sushi I,ve had in Nashville
by MWolff67
Absolutely wonderful. My sister and I went tonight and had a ton of sushi, Yellowtail sashimi, No name special roll, Caterpillar roll, Crunch Munch, Fashion roll, Austin roll, and the squid salad, and i can't say enough about this place. The atmophere was quiet and but inviting. We sat at the bar and both the chefs were very polite and responsive, with a smile. Everything was spectacular, very fresh and made to perfection. We also did a sake bomber which the waitress helped us with, also the chefs were very helpful with suggestions when we were not sure what to get next. I will say no matter where you live it's worth the drive to bellevue
- Pros: Greta food, service, ambiance
- Cons: none at this time
Wonderful sushi, wonderful service. Tokyo Japanese Cuisine is our favorite Japanese restaurant in town!
by dsnelson
Tokyo Japanese Cuisine is our favorite place to eat. The service is always top of the line and everyone greets you and is happy to see you. Customer service is a lost art these days. Everyone here is so friendly and nice- it makes you want to keep going back. And the food is excellent. Coming from California where sushi and Japanese restaurants abound, this is a trained pallet's compliment. The selection is also impressive. The sushi is always freshly and beautifully prepared. The bento boxes are delicious and the tempura is perfect. You won't be disappointed here. Also, this place can seat two to 20 or more! Its great for a quiet night out with your husband or wife, date, whatever- or its perfect for larger parties and children. Five Stars for sure. Thanks, Tokyo!
- Pros: Delicious, Friendly, Convenient, Affordable
- Cons: none
Best sushi in Nashville!
by r2dgo
Trust me. It is the best sushi in Nashville! I went a lot of sushi places around my town and now I know where to go without hesitating which restaurant I should go for dinner. TOKYO!! During the Christmas season I had special rolls, which were Christmas roll and Santa roll. It was AMAZING!! I really loved it. I bet their fish is very fresh since it melted in my mouth when I had a bite. Hmm~ oh and now one of my favorites is crunch munch roll. You should definitely try one if you get a chance. I heard they are making more special rolls since everyone liked it. I'm so excited. Everything that I experienced there was really good like their food, services, atmosphere, and even music. The restaurant is very clean and nice. It looks like little bit of antic style but it was good enough to enjoy my food and be relax at the same time . I strongly recommend this restaurant to people who want to taste fresh sushi, awesome rolls, and want to enjoy their food in a good condition~
- Pros: Amazing Food and services
- Cons: None

I've eaten at Tokyo several times but unfortunately my most recent visit will be my last. When my wife, daughter, and friend visited for lunch we ended up getting charged double because our waitress made a mistake. I ordered the 5-sushi lunch special (five pieces of sushi and two rolls for $12.99) and our waitress said "Ok, just write down what you want on the ticket and I'll give it to the chef." I did, and out came my sushi along with my wife and friend's orders. I noticed that there were more than five pieces -- including two which none of us ordered -- but when I mentioned that to the waitress she said, "yes, this is what you ordered."
After receiving a bill for $54.00 when the correct amount should have been about $25.00, I went to the counter to see if they could explain what happened. The owner (presumably) said "Oh, you marked the sheet -- that's two pieces each." When I mentioned that the waitress told me to do so after I told her that I wanted the lunch special he said, "Oh you should have told her that you wanted the special."
If you go to this restaurant, I'd recommend the bento boxes or anything that's on the menu as-is. Steer clear of any "specials" because evidently those are just for show -- they don't really offer them. And make sure you bring plenty of cash in case you make the mistake of ordering something that's on the menu.
- Pros: Fantastic sushi
- Cons: Math
Some of the best sushi in Nashville
by gregclaeys
The sushi at Tokyo Japanese Cuisine steals the show. The chefs are fun and informative and prepare some of the most unique and decadent dishes I have ever had. I recommend the super crunch roll but everything I have tried is great. The regular Japanese and Korean dishes, however, are sub-par. They're served in trendy dishes and prepared very neatly, but the taste has something left to be desired. The service is great and I wish they had better entrees because it would add to the overall quality of the restaurant. The inside is clean but not very fancy. I wouldn't recommend going to Tokyo Japanese Cuisine for a date night or if your looking to go somewhere for a nice dinner, but if you are craving just sushi, you cannot beat it.
- Pros: Sushi is fantastic
- Cons: Regular Japanese and Korean dishes are not recommended at all

Best sushi in town!

I've been to every sushi place in Nashville, Brentwood, Cool Springs, etc. No other place has this wide of a variety of sushi as Tokyo in Bellevue. I go to this place as often as I can. Residents of Bellevue are too lucky to have this place close by!
I've read the other reviews on here, and with the possible exception of a few of the service comments - I do know that one young waitress in particular isn't entirely 'with it', but that's just one server - some of the other reviewers are just nuts! The water tastes fine, the place is always clean, and the place does NOT leave a smell on your clothes when you leave. This is a place I wouldn't hesitate to bring an important business date to.
Long story short, I've enjoyed everything I've tried from the menu, and I've tried most of it. My favorite is the sashimi, but the sushi rolls and Korean cuisine are not to be missed either! This place feels like home to me, and I always leave with a smile on my face. I can't recommend it enough!
- Pros: high-quality food and great service
- Cons: none
Not bad, but not the best sushi in nashville
by dianadarkness
After reading the reviews, we decided to visit this restaurant for my birthday at lunchtime. We were promptly seated at a dirty table and each ordered the lunch special. The miso soup was delicious, but we did not receive chopsticks or silverware for our salad and sat there for 5 minutes before we decided to grab them off of the nearest table. Our tea glasses were never refilled, even though the restaurant was empty and we had nearly finished our drinks before our sushi arrived. The spicy tuna and california rolls were good, but the crunchy shrimp roll had very little shrimp or flavor. My friend asked the server if there was something special they could do for my birthday and she replied "we don't do that." When we received our check, the server said "come back at dinner, it's better." Hopefully better than lunch! I certainly did not end up feeling special on my birthday at this restaurant.
It is not the best sushi in Nashville - try Fulin's, RuSan's, or Ichiban. Not the best service either, and my friend would have gladly paid for a birthday treat for me if the check hadn't been dropped on the table the second after she had asked.
- Pros: great miso soup, affordable
- Cons: bad service, sub par sushi
Amazing! I eat here at least twice a week!

This place is fantastic. I've eaten at several different sushi restaurants around the Nashville area and Tokyo, by far, is my favorite! I've had at least over half the rolls on their menu and love them all. Anyone who gives this place less than 4 stars apparently has no taste buds!
