The location and ambience is great here, the service is pretty good. I recently had my birthday party there for 20 + people. Depending on what you ordered depended on the value of your meal due to some of the food ordered had very small portions. $42.00 for a steak is alittle steep for Franklin, but the food is upscale and the drinks are great. Service was also very attentive
Pros: Location, Ambience, chic style
Cons: value on the portion sizes

My wife and I enjoyed the Red Pony Restaurant on Feb 13 to celebrate Valentines Day. Our first impression was very good as my wife pointed out a country singer who would end up sitting one table over. Once the stars left her eyes we were able to enjoy an atmosphere that does not need any help from that of a big time country singer. The place had a great vibe that could fit in well in any big city, but is perfectly fitting for, and is a great addition to, the quaintness of downtown Franklin. The waitstaff was professional, knowledgeable and yet very personable. The particular appetizer we choose was a rare move for us, but we were pleasantly surprised! The chicken my wife enjoyed was....in here words..."the best chicken I have ever had!" I must also point out my request for one of the only two window seats in the house was granted and added the perfect setting for our v-day celebration! The Red Pony is a GREAT find! Franklin has a definite jewel!
Pros: knowledge and patience of waitstaff, ambience, chicken

OK... If you want amazing food, a great atmosphere, amazing service, in a great town... you have come to the right place. The food is UNBELIEVABLE... I go here at least once a week. I have had 2 parties here with friends and family, business meetings and I also drop in after work for a cocktail & appetizers. I have lived all over the world and would put this as some of the best food I have ever had!
Pros: Food, service, menu, cocktails, oh... did i mention the FOOD!!!
Cons: NOTHING...

We checked out the Red Pony menu a few weeks ago and were impressed with the offerings, so we thought we'd check it out. It was a nice night - we sat outside on the upstairs deck, which was lovely. The service was great - our waitress was sweet and helpful, and didn't hover too much. However, the food wasn't as impressive. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. We started with a salad - st. andre cheese, greens, pistachios, blackberries, and cayenne and brown sugar dressing. Sounds innovative, right? Well, it was, but the flavors and textures just didn't mesh together - everything was competing. A bit of a let down. We also started with the chile relleno, which was delicious. Entrees, we had a veal new york strip - which we thought was both blander and tougher than expected - and a cumin-dusted pork tenderloin, which had a great texture, very tender, but was lacking in flavor. And the sides served with it were interesting and tasty alone, but didn't mesh well as a whole entree. The wine list was great and the martinis were well-made. And the service was superb. We're thinking that maybe it was an off-night in the kitchen. The menu changes frequently, so we hope to go back in a month or two and see if the dishes are a little bit better and more cohesive. Definitely worth another chance.
Pros: Great outdoor deck, good service
Cons: meals lack cohesion

My friends and I eat out every month trying new restaurants, the Red Pony has great food, reservations are a must. The service is great and the drinks are inovated. My only complaint is the restaurant is alittle pricy for what you get with regards to portions.
Pros: Great food, Great location, good service
Cons: Pricy for the portion size you get

The Red Pony was one of the first restaraunts I tried after I moved to Frankllin, and now I'm there at least once a month with my boyfriend. It is a little pricey but it's so worth it! The place just looks so cool inside and the servers are incredibly sweet! oh and the food! Its got to be some of the best food I've experienced! If you ever have a holiday or celebration you should definitely try The Red Pony!
Pros: great atmosphere, cool part of town, great service
Cons: a little pricey
