If you are sick of chain everything & harken for a down to earth, downright delicious icecream experience, head to Pied Piper in East Nashville. Housed in a historic home with a huge front porch & garden to relax in & enjoy your treat, Pied Piper is a true East Nashville original. The ice cream is made fresh on site by the proprietor & features one of a kind original flavors. The Professor - toasted mixed nuts and coconut is delicious as is the Banana Fo Fu Pudding - wafers, bananasa - oh my! Handmade waffle cones, sundaes and bon-bons are available. Pied PIper also boasts a used book exchange on site so you can treat yourself to some icecream & a great read. Wonderful place to walk to after a bite at any of the nearby places - Battered & Fried, Alley Cat, Margot or Beyond the Edge or take your family for a treat.
- Pros: Ice Cream
The best ice cream ANYwhere.

Don't miss The Movie Star (ginger lemon custard) or the Oatmeal Raisin or the Banana Pudding with fresh bananas and Nilla wafers. And if you like a bunch of stuff in your ice cream, then Trailer Trash is your dream come true. Jenny Piper is a genius!

Remember when you used to make ice cream at home in the back yard and it seemed to take forever but worth every second of the wait? some of you will even remember the hand crank. Well it has been recreated at Pied Piper and it will definately take you back. WOW!!!!!!!!
- Pros: flavor! flavor! flavor!
- Cons: I cant eat it every day
Hand-Made, Great-Tasting Ice Cream
by nashvillegypsy
After trying "The Professor" @ Pied Piper, I'm not sure I can ever eat store bought ice cream again. The ice-cream @ Pied Piper is rich, creamy and doesn't taste like a scoop of chemicals is entering your mouth. It's a family owned buisness with tons of charming, outdoor seating-- within walking distance to Bongo and Beyond the Edge.
- Pros: Service, Free Taste Samples, Cute Front Porch
- Cons: Parking
