Best overall restaurant experience I have ever had. Loved the Blue Marlin! Great service. Easy access. Bob H.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to write this review. My chef friend and I found Flyte about 7 months ago, and have been in love ever since. THIS IS WHAT DINNING IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE! We enjoyed five delicious and perfectly plated courses. The greatest thing about this was that we were able to taste so many things without feeling like we needed to be carried out of the building. Ingredients were fresh and never over seasoned. The vegetarian option was the best I've had in the city. Usually, in my experience, servers and chefs alike are annoyed when asked about a vegetarian option. Not Flyte! Every bite was a new taste experience, pairing creative sauces and purees with perfectly cut vegetables. I haven't eaten meat in 16 years and was convinced to at least taste the other options. The pork tenderloin and the short rib are to die for. Fall apart tender short rib with well matched flavors. Sigh. The servers are very knowledgeable and great with wine pairings from the unique wine list. The atmosphere is a compliment to the food and service alike. The plates are like works of art with so much attention to every detail. We take everyone we know to Flyte now, and because they are constantly updating the menu we are always pleasantly surprised. You pay for what you get and it's worth every dime. Bottom line, I cannot say enough good things about Flyte. Chic, well played atmosphere. Knowledgeable attentive service. Exciting wine list. Amazing food time and time again. Always an unparalleled experience. Thank you Flyte, finally someone gets it.
Pros: Cuisine, wine list, service

On the recommendations of many friends and after reading the positive reviews, my wife and I decided to finally visit Flyte and see what the entire buzz was about. We arrived on a Friday night and greeted by two smiling hostesses that were very friendly and that promptly sat us at our table, which was thankfully a comfortable booth. The building has an original decor and relaxed lighting with an inviting atmosphere. Our friendly server was very knowledgeable about the menu items and of the wine list, which is very eclectic and exciting. It’s nice to see a restaurant striving to break the monotonous mold of typical wines and offer unique wines from all over the world. Some of the wines we had never seen before, but our server had no problem explaining them in detail and offered us a taste of anything we wanted to try. A nice touch indeed! We started with the beet scallop appetizer, which were some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Next we shared the salad flyte, which was the perfect size and gave us a chance to taste all the salads. Very cool! My wife ordered the grouper and I opted to try the pork loin. Both entrees were beautifully and skillfully presented and had the pride and craftsmanship of a great chef and kitchen. The portion size of both was perfect as well. Who really needs to eat 24 ounces of meat? And the flavors? Exceptional!!! All the components blended and complimented each other perfectly. Everything had its place on the plate and you could taste every flavor of the entrée. Nothing was covered by a cheap sauce or by over seasoning. Fresh ingredients cooked properly and executed brilliantly! This is our new, much-loved place to eat and entertain family or friends. Highly recommended! This is a great restaurant for Nashville and we love it! Thanks Flyte!
Pros: Wine list, service, food
Cons: None

Flyte has quickly become our go-to restaurant. We went with friends this weekend and had a blast. The food is simply out of this world, the service is attentive (but not annoyingly over the top), the room is inviting, and the wine list is unusual - in a good way. As the last reviewer pointed out, the portions are not Cheesecake Factory big, but I personally don't care for walking out of a place in a food induced coma. Not cheap if you do all the courses, but well worth it!
Pros: service, food, wine list, atmosphere
Cons: can get loud when full

I was expecting a lot from Flyte. Lots of recommendations from friends so I figured I'd give it a try. The restaurant itself is very nice. And I appreciated the service there. But when it comes down to it, you go to a restaurant for the food - and unfortunately it was lacking. While the dishes are presented very well, the portions are entirely to small. I'm not expecting to take food home but this was ridiculous. I paid 38 dollars for a lamb dish and received at most 3 ounces of edible food. (no sides come with the entrees ) The cuts of meat were very sub par having way too much fat and no meat to be found. I ordered my plate medium it was completely 100% raw. I'm not the type of person who complains at restaurants but for the price I paid and not being able to eat what little meat on the bone there was, I had no choice but to tell the waiter that the meal was completely unsatisfactory. The waiter comped my plate which is why I'm giving them 2 stars and not one...

My friend and I sat at the bar. I had to ask the bartender for a menu. Didn't ask if we wanted any food. Loved the wine I selected. We left for the poor service.
Pros: Great Wine, parking is easy
Cons: Poor service, bad area of town

I think it’s safe to say that when you’re seeking an excellent dining experience you assume that built into the price you will find an interesting and piquant assortment of dishes, an atmosphere to heighten the senses, and service which underwrites the entire experience. While Flyte World Dining and Wine was a charming setting for a Valentine’s date, the service did not follow through and the meal suffered. I had my reservation for Flyte booked, with 2 weeks advance notice and a request to find out if there was a vegetarian option. I didn’t hear back from Flyte until the day before Valentine’s, and while I was told that there would be a vegetarian option and not to worry about it, I discovered what they meant was a mish-mash of which ever vegetables they were already serving, w/out much particular attention to detail or presentation. While my meal was beautifully made and presented, watching my date eat a subpar dinner with no sign of fore-thought kept the meal from being the dining experience I had hoped it would be. A $75 meal (per person) should accommodate the needs of each patron beyond simply “holding the meat.”

Great food and the servers are awesome and always entertaining! Corner booths are romantic, the bar is fun, and the chef really knows what he's doing. If you go through each course, it can get pretty spendy, but entrees only are very reasonable.

We had a birthday party for 20 people in the private dinning area over looking the kitchen, which was really cool. The food was great, and the wine selection was plentiful. The service was attentive and very helpful, food was served on time and exactly as we ordered. Here is the issue, dinner for (2) people with drinks was $325.00
Pros: Food Quality, Service, exciting menu
Cons: Portions were VERY small and expensive, not a great part of town

Hubby and I went to Flyte for our anniversary. When making our reservations, I told them it was our anniversary, so when we arrived, we were seated in a great, back-corner table with a view of the entire room. We were given complimentary champagne as well. Our waitress was very helpful and offered suggestions when we asked, which was basically for every course of the meal plus wine. We had the Short Rib appetizer. It was so good that I might get the Short Rib entree next time. We had the Salad Flyte, which was a tasting of their three salad choices. I would probably get the Pecan Pie salad (very interesting flavors) and hubby would probably get the Dagwood salad next time. I had the Halibut and hubby had the lamb. Both were very good, but I might get something different next time. For dessert, I had the Creme Brulee flyte and hubby had a dessert wine flyte. We also had another couple of wine flytes and for the opportunity to try different wines, it can't be beat. We found the experience to be very romantic, but we were celebrating our anniversary, so we were in a romantic mood anyway. As others have warned, it is pretty pricey, so for two people with wine, appetizers, entrees, dessert & tip, be prepared to spend $200. I would also caution that portions are more European in nature and not the overinflated, let's-eat-until-we-burst portions that Americans are accustomed to. I left satisfied, but not FULL. To me, that was a good thing, but it might not be to everyone. Overall, we would consider it to be the best dining experience we've had in Nashville so far.
Pros: Service, Wine List, Ambiance
