My husband and I usually visit Bricktop's twice a month. We commute from TN to SFO monthly and expect service from the restuarants we patronize. Up until our 3/22/08 visit, Bricktop's usually did not disappoint but on that Sat nite, our service and food was simply terrible. To make things worse, we were entertaining a guest from Scottdale and had raved how wonderful our favorite place would be! My friend and I were seated promptly and served our cocktails but our server was very rude when he found out my husband was running 10 min late. He kept pressing for us to order starters after I told him repeatedly we would enjoy our cocktails and wait for my husband. My husband did arrive and ordered his cocktail and we did order a starter which came immediately but before we could get the first bite the bisque and salad was served at which time we told the server and one of the managers to stop pushing us. We could not believe it when we looked up and there was a server with our entrees when we had not even has two bites of our bisque or salad!! We sent them back to the kitchen and again said not to push us.; we wanted to order wine with our dinner but the wine list was not offered. We wound up with two very ordinary choices of chardonnay by the glass. Once again our entrees were presented before we had finished our starters but we decided to give up and let them serve them. They were not fresh and had just been setting under the hot lite while we were eating our starters. Our very ORDINARY Chard was finally served halfway thru the entree service. We did get a good laugh when asked if we wanted dessert, all we wanted was to get our check and leave and apologize to our guest for such an embarassing evening. My husband was going to leave no tip but as a former waitress while in school I did manage to talk him in to leaving a small one that would leave msg of how displeased we were to spend over $200 for a very stressful evening.

Pros: Bar service in great, parking in great

Cons: Dining room servers very pushy, wine list not impressive
