Good food sorry service

by prosenblatt

Four of us went for a family dinner on a Sunday evening.

Two of the orders were mishandled and when asked for hot sauce the waitress got lost except when it was time for the check

Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant

by dw831

I had such a hard time connecting with the food at this restaurant tonight! This has always been a favorite for me, but everything was off this time. Our hostess was rude, the server acted like we were an inconvenience, the woman that delivered my oysters, dumped water from the plate in my lap, and the manager talked down to me for not informing him earlier that I was having a bad experience.

He was gracious enough to take the drinks of the tab, but I still had to pay 130.00 for a nightmare dinner.

THE BEST burger (or at least tied) in US

by thinker60

Every time I visit BrickTops the service and staff are the Best! Friendly and helpful. Enough of that.... The Burger is the best. I can't get past it for other items on the menu. I have had some other menu items which were very good but the Burger is Tops! For a great side go for the mac-n-cheese. It is also out of this world. Great job to the cooks and staff at Bricktops.

GREAT UNPRETENTIOUS FOOD!

by TeeCee1

I have been here twice with groups of 4 and 12 people. Both times everyone in the group loved the food, drinks and very helpful and courteous staff. If you want great prime rib, ribs, fresh fish, or even deviled eggs and blue cheese potato chips, this is a place that focused on food taste and quality. It may not be a fancy atmosphere but it is very nice and suitable for famiy or business dinners. Price is reasonable for location and the food quality/portion size.

  • Pros: Very tasty and well made food

Lousy Dinner Experience

by VanderbiltMD

We recently had dinner at BrickTop's and were thoroughly disappointed. The food was overpriced, the service average at best, the ambiance ordinary, and the culinary experience most disappointing. The food presentation was mediocre; fillet mignon came as a lump of meat with no garnish, rotisserie chicken came as a grilled bird with no flavor or color. If a salad were ordered, it would have cost extra. Bread was offered, not spontaneously at the beginning of the dinner but with some coaxing during dinner. Desserts were limited in choice. The server was apathetic, and the manager didn't care to inquire if we were satisfied. Overall, the bill of $30 per head, without wine or appetizer or dessert, was not worth the price for the dinner experience. So, that was our last visit to BrickTop's.

  • Pros: Good location

don't get the burger

by touringthetown

It was my first time to go to this location since Houston's closed. The decor was beautiful and the staff was very nice. However, the $11 bluecheese burger looked more like a Wendy burger. Small, dry meat, overcooked. Very disappointing. The menu options are slim. The cocktails are all $10 and come in a small glass. Not sure if I would go back there again.

Only good thing was the dip

by melogirl

A friend and I were in Nashville on business and wanted to try someplace new. I had previously passed Bricktops numerous times and suggested it. At 12pm on a Tuesday, we were told it would be a 25 minute wait. 25 minute wait turned into 45 minutes. I don't mind a wait, but Bricktop's space is so limited it felt like we were on the subway in NY. The food was not worth the wait. We had spinach and artichoke dip to start, which was very tasty. For entrees, I had the french dip, and my friend ordered the chicken tortilla soup. The soup looked like they had just poured baby food into a bowl and stuck a tortilla chip in it. She said there was not much chicken which made the soup unappetizing. The french dip was a good size and tasted overcooked. The server was absent and acted like waiting on us was a nuisance. Other servers were goofing off with the hostess next to our table which was very unprofessional. This was two trips in one: my first and my last.

Deserved six stars...

by quixoticartdotnet

...had it not been for the artwork.

Otherwise, fantastic restaurant! Really surprised at reviews that criticize the service, particularly the attitudes of the staff. I have always received a warm welcome, prompt service and great effort from the staff, especially the bartenders - on a Friday night they crank out the frosty libations from demanding patrons with style and a smile, and when it's a little slower during the day, they are quite conversational.

As a vegetarian, I cannot comment on the entire menu (though the meat dishes I see tend to tempt me). However, the wood oven roasted artichoke halves are a superb appetizer, and the vegetables of the day have never let me down. The - ok, let me cut to the chase - the restaurant is beautiful, the staff is friendly and very competent, the food is fantastic and quite reasonably priced, but as the name of the review would indicate, I have a hard time with the cartoonish chimpanzees with the tales of monkeys. They do not fit in the resaurant of this calibre, and having read many reviews, it would appear that several writers agree with me on this issue. The chimpkeys must go, and should be replaced by rich, textured abstract art. Art like the paintings you would find on QuixoticArt something or another. I visited that site, and have to give it five luminaries also.

Well, enough about the chimpkeys and the wonderful art that you would see on QuixoticArt something or another.

As Art Linkletter would say, "I heartily endorse this restaurant!" except for the...

Best All-Around Restaurant

by greenhillsgirl2008

Bricktops is one of my favorite sit-down restaurants in Nashville. They serve a good mix of upscale American cuisine, including wonderful grilled fish, steaks, and burgers as well as salads and flat-breads. The service is generally very good and I've never had issues with the quality of the food. It's perfect for any type of occasion, whether you're looking for a quick lunch/dinner, a night out with the kids, or a romantic date or special occasion. For dessert, the Chocolate Chip (a huge chocolate chip cookie, freshly baked in its own personal skillet, topped with vanilla ice cream) is a must-have. The restaurant is definitely on the pricey side but is worth every penny.
