the worst I've ever had

Spaces is, without a doubt, the worst salon experience I've ever had. I had an appointment for a simple highlight that took OVER SEVEN HOURS. During this time the woman coloring my hair saw three other clients, one of whose hair she started after my color was already washed--meaning I sat for 45 minutes with wet hair.

After she finally finished drying my hair, she gave no apologies but explained that she had been really busy and that if I wanted she would run through my thick hair with her thinning shears—which took two minutes, and left my hair choppy and unbalanced.

When I finally left to pay I was surprised to see I was charged for a haircut. I politely explained to the receptionist that there was a mistake—I had only had a highlight—so she went to confront my hairdresser. When my “stylist” was asked about the situation she boldly and flatly LIED saying she had given me a full cut. I asked to speak to the manager who simply ridiculed me, saying it would have been impossible for me to have been there since 11am for a simple highlight as it was well past 5pm. When she looked at the appointment time and saw that I had been there seven hours she simply shrugged and told me there would be no “discount” on my nonexistent “haircut.” I was truly, unbelievably shocked, and so knocked off my feet by the whole situation that I ended up paying and leaving, spending over $200 to go home and cry.

I have never written a bad review for anything online, I have never asked for my money back, I would not make this up—it was as absolutely unreal and horrifying as it sounds and I cannot believe this place is still in business.

I will never go back to Spaces—it was an absolute nightmare. There are too many great places in Nashville to waste another second on this WASTE of space.

Beware of skin burns

My skin was burned during a lip waxing over a year ago, and I have been seeking treatment at my own expense since that time. I have spoken with the owner on several occasions, and she has never apologized. I even requested my money to be refunded, and she has refused. Tammy, the owner, is very difficult to contact and claims that she receives 200 phone calls a day. I am unclear about why a spa owner would receive 200 phone calls a day. Nevertheless, this is why she is unable to return my calls in a timely manner.

• Cons: you will leave in worse condition than when you arrived and still be paying for it a year later

Wonderful place to be....

I have been going to Escape for a couple of years and I LOVE it! It is hands down the best spa in Nashville. I have been to most of the spas here and I have been to several out of state, and this place is really great!! Everyone is very professional and very attentive. I've gone with friends, with my mom and alone. I always leave refreshed and relaxed. I hesitate to leave names of who I've seen because each treatment has been wonderful. The only thing I haven't had done there is my hair - maybe I'll do that soon! Also, I love the skin care lines they carry.

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Need to Get Great Skin??? This is the Spot

I went in to find out more about facial products that will help me perfect my skin because I am so vain and the experience was excellent. I was greeted at least 5 seconds of coming in by Sasha , who is so knowledgable about the products.

She really broke it down and explained everything to me and didnt even try to upsell me ... The enviroment was very peepy yet relaxing with spa water , and the employees look like they take excellent care of their skin... so everything there really matches up with their image. .I ended up by 2 things and spending over my budget but I wasnt mad about it . I left excited , and I have enjoyed using the products that was recommended.... hey if your looking for a place to invest in your skin and you dont have the knowledge this is the place to go... by the way ask for sasha .. she is great!!!!!

Best Accupressure Massage by A.K.

A.K. gives the best massage I've ever had-Ever! The overall setting was unbelievably tranquil and serene. It was like a little slice of heaven! It was exactly what I needed, to get away from the stress of reality and unwind. I will recommend Escape to everyone.

It really is an escape, i want to be there right now!

I love escape spa so much. I have been three times. first for a pedicure and the other times for a pedicure and massage. I am in my 20's and I have never felt looked down upon or uneasy in this spa. The spa manager is always helpful. Even the first time I went when I was only getting a pedicure I was told I could put on a robe and relax in the waiting room. I am always offered a beverage and snack. Everyone is so friendly and just really wants you to relax. The only thing I am not crazy about is the mixed steam room. It was kinda weird when this older man came in and my friend had her top off! We had no idea it was mixed.

Great Bikini Wax!!

Escape was wonderful! I went there for a first time bikini wax and they were very professional and very helpful! They were very accommodating and flexible with scheduling. I highly recommend them!

worst massage I've ever had, cold atmosphere

I was given a gift certificate for a deep tissue massage and looked forward to experiencing this talked about day spa. My first impression was cold and hard atmosphere. The locker room was weird and uncomfortable.. very small area to change wheich is hard when there are 2-3 people trying to get dressed/undressed and lockers were difficult to use. I have had many massages over the years and this was the worst I've ever had. The therapist was very nice but she wasted time and put very little effort in her massage. It was very disappointed.

Best and most beautiful spa experience in town, bar none!

I'm a pamper/massage craver who's tried out most of the biggest and best spas in town, but I always end up coming back to Escape. It's THAT amazing---whoever actually wrote below that this place is 'pretentious' or loudly into promoting celeb clientele must be on some hardcore substances, because I can attest as a regular customer there that Escape has always treated myself and other patrons there with equal attention and respect, not to mention very friendly and courteous service to boot. Going to Escape is always a wonderful and relaxing event, and every person I've brought there with me agrees as well!

This place is as state of the art and efficient as some of LA and NYC's finest spas to boot---not only is the decor and design beautifully feng shui((best relaxation room in town; enjoy the starry ceiling and fountain while lying atop a mod couch as you sip away at sweet water and complimentary wine)), but the staff is always extremely friendly and knowledgable about products and procedures. They're obviously happy to be there, and it shows.

If there's one service there I especially recommend, it would be their duo massage...it bl0ws the one at Adagio spa out of the water! Literally, considering my boyfriend and I enjoyed this service there twice in its gorgeously lit main room with a tub bubbling in the middle that you both soak in after your massages...just a heavenly way to end what I assure anyone will be a heavenly spa visit...

If you're looking for simple spa treatments, go elsewhere---if you're looking for the ultimate spa experience, go to Escape. And then do yourself a favor and have some feel-good wine tastings at The Grape next door!
