Made reservations...

by JennTENN76

Made a reservation on December 30th for Friday Jan 2nd, my mom wanted to eat there for her birthday and it was one of her favoite places. We were shocked to find it closed less then 48 hours after we made the reservation. Kind of bad form on their part if you ask me. Oh well...

Where'd they go?!

by springville

What happened to Bistro 215?! It has been one of our favorites for years! It doesn't feel right for them not to give any notice or warning to their many loyal customers... It always seemed to do a good business and what a perfect location. Anybody know anything?

What happened????

by KFPPFK

This little gem was one of my favorite places to go for a variety of eclectic wine or a great martini! I was there on the 30th and heard nothing of the closing. GreenHills has lost a landmark and it will be truely missed.

  • Pros: Intimate, yet can be very social if one chooses.
  • Cons: Can't think of one.

My First Text Date

by RobThrust

An old friend was texting me from Bistro 215 before a movie, it wasn?t long before I found myself dining alone at the Bistro 215. It was dark lit and enchanting. I was seated in a comfortable cloth covered booth with a nice solid wood table, a dim lit lamp attached to the wall was illuminating my table. I selected the salmon from the menu, & requested a bold red wine and some bread. I couldn?t resist sending her a text to let her know I was dining in the Bistro that she had drinks in before the movie. That?s how my text date began. She was out with friends she hadn?t seen in awhile, but it was only seconds until I had a reply, ?Bistro 215?? She was shocked. She texted, ?I?m glad you are enjoying places I like to go?. I quickly replied with an ?It?s just working out that way?. Brian was back with the bread and wine in a flash. I dipped some bread into the virgin olive oil with spices, it was a delish. The salmon was on a bed of seasoned to perfection mashed potatoes and complimented with seared squash, zucchini, & a couple of thin sliced potatoes. The salmon was a meaty piece that was flaking to perfection. It was caramelized on the bottom but the caramelizing was tender. My omega-3 fatty acids were going to be a delight. Another text, ?So how?s the food?? ?Its amazing, the food will get an excellent review, I?m pretending to be a critic.? Brian was back and as we were chatting he suggested I have dessert on the house. I accepted, & allowed him to select the dessert after naming off at least 7 delish sounding desserts. He brought me a warmed pecan pie, that had to have been spooned onto the crust just seconds ago along with alamode, & caramel swirled all over the whole plate in a fancy design, yum, & a cup of coffee. My last text to her, after dessert, ?That was great, take me I?m yours.? I hope I see her soon, but to be honest, I?d take another text date too. It was fun. Having her there would have made the rating a 10.

Best Restaurant in Nashville!!!

by u2silverbutterfly

Bistro 215 is located next to Greenhills Regal Cinamas, and what caught my eye was how much fun and delicious the food looked on the patio (which not a table was empty). My husband and I went in and the valet opened the door, the host at the door greeted us with a smile and welcomed us and then asked if we wanted to sit inside or wait a few minutes for the patio, we decided to sit outside and only had to wait about 5 minutes. As soon as we sat down a lovely server came over to get our drinks started and told us about their wine list which on Tuesday nights bottles of wine are half price. My husband had alot of questions about the wine list and the server, I believe her name is Megan, answered every question with experience and confindence. Loving the atmosphere, we enjoyed our wine and decided it was time to order. Again, Megan suggested we have the special that the Chef had preparred. Can I say UNBELIEVABLE!!! The filet was so tender it melted in your mouth and the potato onion cakes was full of such flavor I didn't want to end. We enjoyed every bite and every sip. We also ordered the flourless chocolate torte which was a perfect way to end our dinner. Every server that passed our table, the host that was cleaning the table beside us, and who I believe was the manager gave us very warm and friendly smiles as they asked how our dinner was.

This was our first visit to Bistro 215. I can't wait to return.

worst restaurant in nashville!

by marleyhendrix

absolutely the worst experience i've ever had at a supposed "fine dining" restaurant. the servers have attitudes as well as the management. although reasonably priced, the food is not up to par. maybe the owners should look into new management...this place has so many problems! i will NEVER waste my money here again!

Great food, great service, and more!

by rileybscott

Bistro 215 consistently takes my dining experience to the next level. I've been many times, and have been waited on by a number of different servers. What I like most about 215 aside from the food, wine, and atmosphere is the staff that treats me like a long lost friend every time I walk through the door (which is getting more frequent, I must admit). Maybe I have a bit of an ego, but if a staff member remembers me and acknowledges me, I am 110% more likely to return to that establishment.

The food is always delicious and hot, and my glass is always full. The lunch Rib Rolls are FANTASTIC and one of my new weaknesses. Get an extra side of au jus and horseradish sauce for this amazing sandwich experience. I love the Salmon Oscar, too, for a more formal meal. It's a house special you can always get, served with flavorful asparagus and delicious rice (did I mention the asparagus was full of flavor?). The ribs are always mouth-watering, and the meat really does fall right off the bone. The mocha chip pie is addictive.

They have a wine social the first Friday of every month. I've been to a few and it's an event you don't want to miss. The crowd is hip, the wine is EXCELLENT, and when the weather is nice, I love to sit on the patio, sip wine & catch up with friends! It's from 10pm until 1am, and the cost is $15.

I might have seen "isoms" or "fab123456" dining at Bistro 215 before... if not, I know their type. They complain about everything, and usually so they can walk out the door with a free meal (and then complain even with that!). I always tip my waitress well over the accepted 20 percent to make up for the jerks some of them put up with. The good thing about bad waiters (they do exist, I'm not denying that!) is that they don't last long. I waited tables in college. You can't pay the bills when you don't make excellent tips, and you don't get good tips if you aren't a good server.

Try Bistro 215 for yourself. You won't be sorry!

  • Pros: fun waitstaff, attractive bar, complimentary valet
  • Cons: no live music, except a jazz band on Sundays

Great food, great service!

by sing4ever

My girlfriend and several others had an absolutely wonderful experience here this past weekend. We had reserved for 8 and were quickly and easily presented a table, even in the middle of what seemed to be a very busy night. Our server was very attentive and quick witted as well, getting us all into good spirits (literally) right away. On that note, the wine list is spectacular and we were easily coached through it in accordance with what we were ordering for dinner. Fantastic meal, including an encrusted Ahi tuna steak, roasted duck, prime rib and a blackberry tuna salad, some of our servers' (Michael) recommendations. We had a fabulous appetizer of oysters Rockefeller which was a special that evening, and some calamari, thank goodness not fried for once, but sauteed with marinara and served brushetta style over some toasty crostinis and with parmesan. The GM (Garth) is a sommelier and what a great idea for such a wine oriented restaurant. The staff seems to be well coached in wine as well, and service was better than we could ask for. Bread before the meal is crusty and delicious and from Provance, I believe Michael said. Drinks were refilled, more bread brought during our meal and wonderful desserts. One of the winners was the chocolate tort. Ask about the dessert list because it not only lists the desserts but it is an extensive list of cordials, single malts, etc. This is a great dinner spot and though I have yet to try lunch, I have been to brunch on Sunday and I only need to say that I highly recommend the food at this restaurant. Oh and the ambiance is just perfect. Everything feels mellow and low key. Good stuff!!!

  • Pros: Food, service, wine list, valet
  • Cons: None
