We truly enjoyed our visit to rumors wine bar. It's a great place to start the night (close to several other area bars), or a great place to spend an evening on the patio sipping wine with friends. the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! The food is fabulous! great great great local hang out.
Pros: food, atmosphere, patio, staff, etc.
Cons: not open late night. :)

My experiences at the Rumors Wine bar locations have been two of the best in Nashville. The owners make sure that each customer has a unique and exhilarating experience. They have hand picked each staff member with precision. They know their stuff!! My first visit was to the 12 south location. The food was wonderful, wine—exquisite, atmosphere—cozy, and pricing—moderate. I had great service and overall a wonderful time. Then, once I learned of the grand opening of the new east Nashville location, I decided I MUST check it out. I have to say, I was even more impressed. The location is larger and has a much more grandiose air about it. The color scheme is unbeatable and the tables—unique and impressive. Once again, the food was delicious, great wine selection and different from the 12 south location. My husband and I stayed for hours, enjoying each other's company and chatting with the staff. As I am a newcomer to the world of wine, I was able to try a variety of flavors at the recommendation of our waitress. The bartender was prompt, as well as the kitchen. I will be leaving Nashville soon and Rumors will be greatly missed!

This place is very hip and trendy, but still comfortable. The wine list is extensive and the 12th Ave location has some great beer choices as well. The food is always great, and there are always specials that give new choices! Art is everywhere, and the patio makes it a wonderful spot when the weather turns nice. I usually run into someone I know there, and generally meet interesting people there as well!

I have been on three dates to Rumours in the past month. My first experience was at the 12 South location. Although the server was a bit overzealous, the experience was excellent. The food was great, from flavor to presentation. The scallop special is especially noteworthy. We enjoyed our experience so much, we decided to repeat it the next week. Unfortunately, the 12 South location is not open on Sundays, but luckily (or so we thought), the East Nashville location is. The problem with the East Nashville location is that the servers, for some inexplicable reason, think it is OK to grab food from your ACTIVE plate with their bare hands. Like, for example, you might say, "This prosciutto tastes strange and is a weird color," and your server will say, "I'm so sorry," AND GRAB IT OFF YOUR PLATE WITH HER BARE HANDS. That happened. The following week a DIFFERENT SERVER was helping us and the entrees were delivered while a few crackers and some honey remained on the cheese plate. I said, "I want to eat those crackers." She politely said something like, "Of course," and GRABBED THE CRACKERS WITH HER BARE HAND AND PUT THEM ON MY SIDE PLATE. She took the honey. Get it together.

I visited Rumours East last Sunday for brunch. We were seated and waited over 2 hours for our food. Some of the other customers walked back to the kitchen to find out why they were so slow. We asked the waiter to bring us chips and queso while we were waiting. He brought us chips and an empty bowl of queso. He never apologized for the wait and seemed to disappear so he wouldn't have to deal with complaining customers. My friends and I will not be returning to Rumours East.
Pros: ?
Cons: slow staff, mediocre food

My boyfriend and I went to Rumours for the first time on Friday night. We arrived about 8, and were unable to sit outside as it was packed. We went inside and sat at the bar, and really enjoyed the whole scene, vibe of the place. Our bartender was really nice, and helpful when asked, but wasn't overly attentive. They were fairly busy, but she should have been able to see when our wine glasses were empty when we were sitting practically in front of her. As mentioned, she was very helpful about the wine and the food menu when we did ask for her help/recommendations. The place was great none the less. We had the cheese plate, which was to die for. How great can a cheese plate be? Well, at Rumours it's fantastic, including the smoked almonds and honey for dipping the triple cream cheese. We also ordered some red pepper tapendade which was great. The Caprese salad was nothing out of the ordinary, but was still very good. The scallops over polenta which were one of the catches of the day were FANTASTIC. The bartender recommended them, and boy was she right. They wine menu was extensive and broken down in a way that was easy to find what you wanted. There are a nice variety of every varietal. Overall, the place was worth going back to. If you are not able to sit outside, I would recommend sitting at the bar, as you can ask more questions that way, and see the bottles, etc. They food is pretty good, and the portions are adequate. We will definitely be going back.
Pros: Really nice wine list and a good choice of light plates to go with
Cons: Not super attentive on the service, but not bad either

I have been to rumors a few times in the past few weeks, but only for their great wine list and patio atmosphere. Last night, however, I ordered one of their dinner specials and it was amazing! Fresh scallops with a pesto baste, mushrooms, tomatoes, shoestring potatoes and beautifully cooked jasmine rice. The presentation was beautiful and the dish was rich with flavor. I had no idea rumors food was so good! And the entree was only $15! A bargain! They also had a caprese salad my friend had that looked amazing. Not only does rumors have great wine and a super friendly staff, but their food is high end quality for moderate prices. A definite must for wine and food lovers!!!!
Pros: Great prices, excellent food, friendly staff, outdoor patio, small and intimate setting
Cons: Wine list a little limited...but they have mollydooker!

This is a good resturant for a quite night with friends and in the summer you can sit outside. Wine and food are just great. Portions are not too big but the flavor is just fantastic. The only con is the price: a dinner with a glass of wine, starter, main, and dessert can go up to 50 dollars (tips included).
Pros: Quite and relaxing, very very very good food
Cons: expensive

I'm not very knowledgable about wines, but this place seemed to have an extensive list and I certainly enjoyed the wine I ordered. They also have great coffee that they bring out in a coffee press. The atmosphere is artsy, cozy and sophistocated, but unintimidating. You can eat inside or on the patio. The highlight for me was the food. I was there with three other people and we ordered appetizers, three of the specials and dessert. It was all scrumptious! The portions are just the right size - not too huge, but worth the money for sure. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly.
Pros: Ambience, Food, Service

I have been a couple of times, once during the week and another on the weekend. We were seated quickly, and servers were right there to spoil us. The food is absolutely great. I also love the extensive wine list. It is a place I know that I will recommend to friends, and enjoy myself many times to come.
Pros: Great food, service, and wine list.
