I hired Mr. Winsted to install and finish hardwood floors at my home in Alabama. I found him to be a very professional and trustworthy individual, very knowledgeable in his trade, pleasant to work with, and his prices were fair and reasonable. I am a very satisfied customer and would fully recommend him to others.

I had never heard of Ideal Hardwood Floors until 2004 when I was trying to decide what kind of hardwood flooring I should install in my residence. I typically rely on industry experts to help make my decision and lead me with the best product at the best price. After working with Ideal Hardwood Floors, I will never think of calling another vendor to install hardwood. These guys spent the time needed to discuss all possibilities, type of hardwood, best/worst case scenario with each option. I have never thought twice about the type of wood I chose, the color of stain, or type of finishing gloss. These guys have obviously been around for quite some time and their knowledge and expertise is indicative of such.
Pros: Knowledgeable, Efficient, Honest
Cons: Have to schedule weeks in advance due to their heavy workload

The owner was difficult to work with and argumentative. He tried to bully customers to do less work. The work is ok, but not great, mostly due to not being careful enough. For example they didn't really clean well after sanding, so small wood chips and debris are stuck in the polyurethane. This would have been prevented simply by spending a little more time cleaning after all the more time consuming work of sanding. After many disagreements I found I could no longer trust their expertise.
Pros: Price is OK
Cons: Argumentative, Unreliable Schedule
