I had never been to a spa much less had a facial until I visited Trace Retreat. After some gentle coaxing from a friend, I decided to try it. Trace Retreat was close to my house and able to accommodate a later afternoon appointment for a Gentleman's Grooming Facial. This was a great experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I was truly able to relax and enjoy the experience even thought I was initially nervous going to the spa for my first time. They also gave me a few tips to help with some dry areas I had. This is a nice place and a great addition to the Bellevue area. I will be back.
Pros: Location, Staff and Services

I would first like to say that I have never been to a spa before or had a massage and I was quite nervous about going and letting a stranger rub on me. That said I have to say that it was the most relaxing experience I have had all year. My fiance got me a gift card to go there for Valentine's Day because he had noticed that with work and planning our wedding I was beyond stressed out. So I took off a day from work and went to check it out not knowing what to expect. I was blown away. I had an hour massage and a facial. The whole atmosphere was relaxing. The music was great(very soft and with table water fountains) and the candle lighting was a great touch to making you feel more willing to unwind. Like I said I was really nervous about going but I have a whole new outlook on spas now. All the people that worked there were more than will to meet my needs. They would ask me if the temperature was ok and if the massage pressure was what I wanted. When I left there I felt like a whole new person. I was relaxed and I felt like I had just been on a week vacation when I had to return to work. I will definitley be returning to get another massage.

Royalty!!! That is exactly what I felt like after getting an aroma therapy massage & reflexology pedicure. The staff was absolutely professional, knowledgeable caring and most of all pleasant and courteous. I've had several body treatments and massages at other spas and the one I received at Trace Retreat was above and beyond services received elsewhere. I will most definitely come back. Very relaxing atmosphere. A definit plus for Nashville. Great spa.
Pros: Great service, staff, and atmosphere. Great parking.
Cons: Only one in Nashville. I drive 17 miles to go there. But it's worth every penny.

I come to City Search often trying to find new or unique places in Nashville and surrounding areas to visit...I often rely on the guest comments in making decisions as to what Nashville attractions and services I'd like to frequent. In particular, I relied on the guest comments in making my spa appointments (4 services in all) at the Trace. I thought I'd try something new and it was nearby. I feel compelled to write a review (my first) because not only was I terribly disappointed and actually offended by the services at the Trace but I also want other people like me who rely on the comments to have a balanced look at this entity. Of all the fabulous, quality day spas in Nashville WHY anyone would frequent this place (especially more than once) is beyond me. The spa was understaffed which caused part of my services to be cancelled (without prior notice to me), the owner was rude, the music in the "relaxation" room (which was actually the drivethrough of a laundry it appeared) was LOUD and uncomfortable, and as for the services themselves, I couldn't wait to leave. For example, I kept telling my masseuse that the room was too cold and that it didn't appear that the electric blanket was working, but she did nothing - probably because she couldn't hear over the sound of her gum smacking. In addition, I had bruises on my upper arms from where she thought poking one with a finger was the way to perform a swedish massage. My other services were unremarkable.
Pros: None
Cons: poor quality, poor ambience, rude staff, overpriced, not a relaxing experience

My first visit to this spa was for their European Facial. The aestestician that took very good care of me was Selena. She took the time to ask what my skin concerns were and to explain what my facial would consist of. It was the most relaxing experience and best facial I'd ever had. The environment was very calming, very private. I've had facials at Illusions Spa and this was a step above. I felt as if they did want to meet my skin concerns and not just sell me hundreds of dollars in products (though I do make frequent stops in). The products are fantastic and my skin is glowing. Any staff I can into contact with greeted me a was genuinely very warm. I look forward to my next spa experience very soon!
Pros: Great parking & right next to Starbucks for a jolt after all that relaxation
Cons: I just don't make enough money to go every single week

I just had my first massage at Trace Retreat. It was great! Lancer was my massage therapist and did a terrific job. The whole staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They went beyond the call of duty to make my experience great! The week before I went in to check it out and they gave me a tour. The decor is rich, beautiful and very relaxing. I love coming out of the massage and being in a nice dimly lit room, then easing down the darkened hall to the lobby. It is not a shock to the system after being so relaxed. All of their rooms are so soothing. I will definitely return form more services. Give this place a try. It is Bellevue's best kept secret!
Pros: parking, friendly staff, priced accordingly
