Good food but music a little loud sometimes.....

by NashB at Citysearch

Really good value for the price but having a conversation is a little hard sometimes. I don't mind the music, but the volume could me tailored to the time of day. Maybe a little quieter during lunch and louder during dinner?

Still a really cool place, but maybe not for a first date! :)

  • Pros: Sushi very good and reasonable price
  • Cons: Music always techno and sometimes kinda loud

Good cheap eats!

by phoenix95 at Citysearch

I was surprised to see the amount of food I got with my meal. They also had an excellent selection for vegetarians like myself. I found the music pretty cool, kind of like being at a club, but I was still able to hold a good, audible conversation. The waiter actually came by our table numerous times, and we were not ready to order due to the large selection of food and our jabbering. I would recommend it for some good cheap eats!

  • Pros: Excellent food, great prices
  • Cons: none

Yum!

by laceydoo at Citysearch

I was so happy to discover this place. The sushi is quite good and extremely reasonable. Also, the teriaky rice ball is amazing (sounds weird, but try it!). I enjoyed all of the sushi I tried--4 rolls and a beer for under $20. They play loud techno music, but aside from that it's truly enjoyable. If you love sushi then give Rusan's a try.

  • Pros: cheap but GOOD sushi
  • Cons: loud music

Huge selection, decent atmosphere

by jmbemail at Citysearch

First off, most complaints I've seen say they wanted their food for free because they obviously had no idea what they were ordering... so you guys think you can go to McDonalds order a bigmac and then hand it back saying "I really don't care for this, what else you got?"??? All your reviews should be tossed out and not counted honestly. The selection at this restaurant is absolutely huge. I used to go to Omikashi/Wasabi in my building but this place is 100 times better. Just about everything you could want is on the bar, sushi, rolls, a few hot items, etc. Great buffet for lunch! I would agree the service is a little lacking... but it's a BUFFET! Biggest gripe I would have is if you order a soda you get a canned drink, and refills are not free. I generally get water, or hot tea. You really should try this once, but don't order something you are not sure about... that's common sense! Unless you are willing to go with a group and swap out items if someone gets something they don't like.

  • Pros: Huge selection, no rush atmosphere
  • Cons: costs for soda refills, service a little lacking

Great Sushi Lunch Buffet

by gypsyfood at Citysearch

If you need a quick bite for lunch, this is the spot. The lunch buffet is fantastic! Who would have thought that a sushi buffet could be good. There are some rolls that are so-so, but for the most part, you are getting a great deal for lunch. Also, I would recommend ordering the seaweed salad with the buffet.

  • Pros: Cheap, Fast Lunch
  • Cons: Not the best sushi you're ever going to have, Very loud, slow service

Can't beat the dollar menu!

by vegabon at Citysearch

This restaurant turned me on to sushi! My boyfriend and I come here all the time. You can't beat the dollar menu! I love the spicy salmon maki, and teryaki tuna maki. They also have a good menu of vegatarian sushi. We always leave paying less than 20 dollars, sometimes less than 15! We eat at other sushi resteraunts as well, but haven't really found a replacement for this one. Yes the music is loud and annoying techno. Its been a lot quieter lately, and you kind of get used to it. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner. It is a fun atmosphere and the Sushi cooks yell hello to you as you walk to your seat. I have had problems with service, but its usually okay. One girl tried to memorize our order. She came back to ask me to repeat it twice! I've also had problems ordering sweet potato sushi. The server said it was sweet potato and I had to insist that sweet potato is orange! Anyways, I will continue coming back because of the awesome sushi and good prices.

  • Pros: Sushi and prices
  • Cons: Service and loud music

The Food is Great, but Don't Go for the Service!

by melissa3803 at Citysearch

We have been to Ru Sans many times and always enjoy the food. However, if you're sensitive about being treated well and want to be served in a timely manner, this is not the place for you. My husband and I even joke about how the sushi is so good, we'll take the mistreatment. Although in all seriousness, that's no way to run a restaurant and they really need to step up the service. I love the atmosphere and the sushi is truly the best around, but I have found myself seeking my sushi fix elsewhere because I like to give my hard earned money to businesses that value me as a customer.

  • Pros: Awesome, creative sushi!
  • Cons: Service is slow and waiters constantly have to be reminded to refill drinks, etc.

Interesting

by benwa at Citysearch

OK, I am not a sushi fan, but I have friends that are. When I had some come into town a few people recommended Rusan's. There was a very young and trendy crowd and it smelled like fish when I walked in. It was very noisy, but we were seated promptly and the waiter was very accommidating. As you can guess I was worried about what I was going to eat, I soon found that there was plenty on the menu for someone that does not eat raw fish. (I did try some, and I will not be doing that again very soon!) Ultimately we had a great time and my friends were very impressed. SO, it was a complete success and I will definately recommend Rusan's to anyone want to do the SUSHI SCENE.

  • Pros: Not Just Raw Stuff
  • Cons: Very Noisy

Sample it all!

by mweaver2k6 at Citysearch

Indecisive types will love the sheer number of choices available at Rusan's. While the quality is not quite on par with what sushi snobs may come to expect, there are enough choices to find more than enough to satisfy your pallet. Make sure you go early if you're planning on lunch...lines grow out the door quicky.

Nothing Fishy about it!

by lmc819 at Citysearch

I have been to Rusan's numerous times now, and have enjoyed each visit. The atmosphere is lively, posh, clean, exciting, and comfortable. Although space is limited, seating is usually prompt, and the service is "so so". They have a wonderful all you can eat lunch buffet, at very low cost, $10 at the most. When in there today, I noticed that they scored a 100 on their annual check. Another BONUS! The selection is great, and if you're a beginner, the lunch buffet is where you should start. It helps you learn what you like, and don't like, with a wide variety. The waitstaff is very friendly, but can be limited when busy. If you're looking for some of the best high quality sushi in town, at very low cost... Rusan's is your place. Enjoy!!

  • Pros: Great Sushi, Price, Variety
  • Cons: Small
