Greatest Salon In Nashville!!! Jason ROCKS!!

My 1st visit to Rodney's and let me just say this, I will NEVER go anywhere else to get my hair done. Jason has got to be the best stylist I have ever been to in all my 31 years. He listened to what I had to say, advised me on color, talked to me like he'd known me forever, he was extremely informative and was born to style! And he's just as cute as a button to boot. He was very courteous, offering me beverages and magazines while I waited. The vibe inside was very upbeat and friendly. All of the stylists were polite and I will be recommending them to ALL of my girlfriends!!!! If you want your hair done right, go to Rodney's!!

• Pros: Atmosphere and service is unbelievable!
• Cons: Finding a parking spot sucked!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

I am a California girl, and have been waiting until I go back home to get my haircut until recently. I have gone to Ashley for a while now, and have even stopped seeing my guy at home! I have gotten more complements on my hair than ever before, and always feel comfortable and happy. Having short hair and a rather edgy look makes me rather picky as to who I let cut my hair, and I have never been happier.

• Pros: Super nice, cocktails on the weekends
• Cons: Never had any, could be a little costly

Redken Color at a high end salon!---Not worth it!

Their haircuts are definitely better than their highlights or color, especially since they use REDKEN as their color! I was unaware until it was too late that they had recently made the switch from Goldwell to Redken..... a huge difference! It was even stated that they are saving money by using Redken, but then why are they still charging the same amount as they were for Goldwell!?! If they are going to make such a drastic change in the quality of hair color solution they use, then they should alter their prices to reflect that because over a hundred dollars for a bad color job is not worth it! I do not mind paying more for great quality color, but Redken will not offer that! I have no desire to get it redone there because if I am paying top dollar for highlights, then I want a top line color used and a colorist that will actually listen to what I am saying!

Cool, relaxed atmosphere, great haircut, very nice stylist!

I just recently moved to Nashville and Lauren Augustine did my hair at Rodney Mitchell Salon. She was such a fun and talented stylist and so friendly. I told her I was in the mood to "chop my hair off" and she took the challenge and did a great job. You CANNOT just walk in anywhere and say that and expect to walk out happy, so that's truly a testiment to Lauren. I love the cut, and I love the location of the salon...very "casually" located in Hillsboro Village, their doors wide open, and a relaxed vibe that suits me perfectly. I suggest dropping in and "mixing it up" at Rodney Mitchell...you won't be sorry! Thanks Lauren!

• Cons: add on the price of Fido coffee when you go...i can't resist....

Toni is By FAR the BEST

I have been going to Toni at Rodney's Hair Salon for about 2 years now. Previously I was a dyehard (no pun intended) Aveda gal, which is how I met Toni. I feel compelled to write this review because during my last visit, I came in wearing shorts and clearly not working nor planning to go anywhere but home afterwards and I was simply amazed at the detail and perfection Toni applied not only to making sure my hair color is perfect (and she knows I like to be BLONDE...) but also in the curls she was applying to finish up the style. As I sat in the chair watching her work it became quite clear that she REALLY loves what she does...and it shows! I appreciate the fact that she has such passion for her work. Everytime I see her she always works her magic on my hair like it was my first visit to her. I can't rave enough about her.

I am now a brunette for the fall and I have to say I LOVE it! My hair always gets compliments from color to cut so I say Toni is the one to see. Great job!

Jason...AMAZING!

I have been going to Jason for years and would recommend him to absolutely anyone, young or old, male, female or otherwise. he always knows exactly what i need. Not only does my color always look totally natural, but my hair is HEALTHY! He doesn't over-do it ya know? You will have a great experience, not to mention fun, if you go and see Jason. AND... it doesn't hurt that he is HOT!

Leah is AMAZING!!!!!!

I first came to the Rodney Mitchell Salon with a horrible mess of a color i did myself from a box. Leah immediately put me to ease with her caring & educated attitude. I have NEVER been so pleased with my hair. It has changed me as a person because i feel confident & beautiful. I highly recommend Leah to ANYONE!!!

Great atmosphere, even better stylists...

I must say, the review before mine is right on. Jason is my roommate's cousin, so I went to him on her advice. He is AMAZING. Not only was he fun to talk to and super nice, but he's got to be the best colorist there. As I am not an expert on color whatsoever, I let him choose where to go with it. He put all sorts of fun colors in, but it looked incredibly natural (no fake, streaky looking highlights and lowlights). The cut was exactly what I asked him for. Not to mention, if you go on the weekend they have free mimosas!!! The atmosphere is fun and layed back. I have no doubt you will love the end result should you choose Rodney Mitchell!

• Cons: Parking is never easy on 21st

they don't listen

I went here to get my eyebrows waxed and a haircut. I told them exactly what I wanted: thick eyebrows and a haircut that would accentuate my waves. What I got what were thin eyebrows and a perfectly straight haircut. I pretty much looked exactly like my hairdresser which isn't going to work for me. I told her many times that I didn't want to spend the 40 minutes every morning straightening my hair, but yet that's exactly what she did for me. Also, the area underneath my eyebrows started scabbing the next day - not a good look!!! I will not go back.

Absolute top notch hair salon in the Village. The only place I'll go- perfect and fun!

Rodney Mitchell Salon is AWESOME! Loren is the greatest! Not only does he have two locations - one in The Village and one in The Factory in Franklin- but he was featured in the book 'How Not To Look Old' on Oprah! You don't get that kind of recognition without earning it! He's awesome! The whole staff is awesome- you can't go wrong. I've been going to both locations now for years and send everyone I know there. The atmosphere is gorgeous, hip, artistic yet comfortable and in the two hippest places a hair salon could be- 21st Ave and Downtown Franklin. This salon is just what Nashville needed and I'm so excited every time I go because I know I'm going to feel great, look great and have a fun time while I'm there. do yourself a favor and visit one of his salons, you won't regret it and you'll be impressed beyond words!

• Pros: Most wonderful cut and highlights I've had in my 18 yrs. in Nashville!
