Nice Salon; But Stylist DId not listen

New to Nashville, which means I had to find a new hairdresser. Went entering into the salon the front desk not all that friendly or very welcoming. I was offered nothing to drink, no where to change (I had to go to work all day and itch). I saw Johnna and she told me right off the she more less felt like she had no sleep. Apparently she is in the count down for Top Hair Show (another words to be on the show itself). I explained to her what I wanted and in the middle of trying to speak I was consonantly intruppurted (as she had her mind on the show and not on my hair) Okay Sorry for the money I paid I should have the attention on me. So with that being said my hair (I even showed her a picture of how I wanted it) is to short and looks exactly the same as it always does. I don't know if I will return or not. As I used to be a hairdresser I KNOW THAT LISTEINING TO WHAT THE CLIENT WANTS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. During the cut she had said to me "There are so many clients that want what they can't have". Well my request was not out of the ordinary. She had no focus on my hair only on herself and her show she is not even on yet. She would stop cutting during the cut to tell someone all about something that hasn't happened, which happened more than once.

• Pros: To expensive for them not to listen, wasn't offered something to drink and most of all my hair is not what I asked for

New in town

This is more of a comment rather than a review.

I have read about 6 pages of reviews for this salon, I have noticed some negative feed back, but not one of those people mentioned the name of the stylist that did a poor job. Having had my share of bad hair cuts, I want to know who not to go to. Especially when I am new in town and the person on the other end of the phone is going randomly choose a stylist for me.

I appreciate the postive comments with first and last names, this is also very helpful.

I gave this a one star rating because the rating is required for this site. I have not yet gone to this salon.

After moving to Brentwood and "chair hopping" for a year, I read about Studio Gaven's new talent in the Tennessean. I tried Autumn Lambert for my color and highlights and have never been more pleased with my hair! She devoted every second to making me comfortable and matched my color perfectly. She also cut and styled my super long hair exactly the way I wanted! I am so happy I found such a great stylist at a great price! I will recommend her to everyone!

I finally found someone that I trust to do my hair!

I had stopped spending time and money on getting my hair cut, colored,and styled at a salon. It was never really what I wanted and I thought having my hair done was supposed to make me feel good. Well, now I have Micah and I feel and look great. He is honest with me and had alot of good ideas. He also gives me helpful and simple tips to maintain the style and color. I love the way he cuts it and the color is amazing. I always get lots of compliments on it. I feel like a new person inside and out. THANKS MICAH!

I love this Salon

I have very fine hair and have a hard time styling it and making it look good everyday. Kim Lear really helped me find a style for my hard to deal with hair. She makes it look full and shiney and I get compliments now every day! I just love it. I have searched for a stylist that really could work with my hard to manage hair and she really got the job done. I will never see anyone else!!! Thanks Kim for making me beautiful!!

Great Atmosphere

I love going to Studio Gavin to get my hair done. I see Kim Lear and she is amazing. I always leave excited about the way my style turned out. The atmosphere of the Salon is also great. It is a fun salon and everyone is so friendly and professional. I always look forward to my next appointment. Did I mention that Kim Lear is great!! You should check her out! You will be glad you did!!

I will never see another Stylist but Kim Lear at Studio Gavin..She listens and has great ideas and I have always been blown away by her work. I love my color and cut and can't wait to see what she will come up with next for my style! Kim Lear is FABULOUS!! Everyone must check her out! You will not be dissapointed!

Best hair cut ever

This salon has it all. It has a New York feel with a southern hospitality welcome. Now that I get my hair cut here all my friends ask me who cuts my hair? I tell them to see Micah. I love my cut ! Everyone is great there!

Okay but very mediocre for the $$$.

Had my hair done there a few times. The color always looked great but nothing exceptional. I am very bored there and the person doing my hair is a cold fish and she can't cut hair. I won't be back. Very overpriced for such a low level of service.

If you want the best hair of your life go see Jason Kennedy!

I felt so welcome the moment I walked into this salon! I didn't know anyone there so I had just told them to book me with someone good. They booked me with Jason Kennedy. He is the best hair stylist I have ever had! He really listened to me and he did not have a "diva" attitude. He was so kind and really took his time to give me perfect hair! I got hi-lights and lo-lights, which he suggested. It looked so perfect and so natural! Let me tell you his shampoo alone is worth the price of a cut and color! OMG, those hands!!! I could've sat there all day! Anyway, after that he cut a few layers in my hair and blow-dried it. When I walked out of that salon I looked like a Victoria's Secret model! I meet lots of people in my job (realtor) and I have literally gotten compliments on my hair every day since Jason did it! You have a client for life!

I'm a lifer for SG!!!

I went for a few years and because the person who I usually went to was always so booked in advance I decided to go somewhere new. I changed my hair color and went really short. I got to a point where I wanted to red out and they said it could not be done right away and I would have to change gradually over many different visits. I called SG and saw Julie who changed it back in one visit and is alway so fast and sure of what she is doing. I have pretty dark hair and she gets it to the perfect blond every time! I love how she does my hair and will never go anywhere else.
