My dog loves this place

by barbikn at Citysearch

I have used this both as a kennel and as a groomer. Everytime I drive up to the door, my dog gets excited and happily goes right in, so I know she has had a good experience there. I never worry about her when I leave her, and that means so much.

  • Pros: Friendly people, go the extra mile service.

A home away from home

by katbuad at Citysearch

I had never boarded my two dogs before. I just couldn't find any place that I felt comfortable leaving them. Every where else the cages looked so small. But at Pet Resorts of America the double cage with indoor and outdoor area looked big enough for my two (one medium sized and one large sized) dogs to be comfortable. I have boarded with Pet Resorts three times now.

The price is a little steep and the pick up charges for Sunday are a little extrem. Too bad it can't be a flat rate per hour charge or 24 hours is a day no matter what time or day the dogs are dropped off--that would make the place perfect!

  • Pros: Large cages with indoor/outdoor access
  • Cons: A little pricey

I don't feel guilty leaving Snowflake at Pet Resorts of America.

by lindas2298 at Citysearch

I just wanted to take a moment and Thank Heather for Helping me on my last visit with Snowflake in August. I was running late to the airport so I called Heather to ask if she could go on-line and print my boarding pass for me so I wouldn't miss my plane. Heather told me "no problem". It saved me so much time at the airport, I cannot tell you how much this helped me out! I really appreciate her being so kind and helpful.

I can tell a big difference when Snowflake stays at Pet Resorts of America. She comes home happy and I feel less guilty about leaving her while I am traveling on business. Heather treats snowflake as if she were her own Pet and that makes all the difference in the world to me. You have a great staff!

Thanks! Linda S

  • Pros: Very helpfull, great staff, clean, Snowflake loves it.

Great place, a bit pricey

by wendorfka at Citysearch

Pet Resorts of America is a great place to take our dog! She is always excited to go and my husband and I feel good about leaving her there. She gets "pool time" and receives a bath and nail trimming prior to being picked up. It is a little pricey, so be prepared when the bill comes. Overall, a great place to take your pet!

  • Pros: Cares about your pet, offers several pet services
  • Cons: pricey, charges you to pick up on Sundays

I don't worry about leaving Sandy at Pet Resorts of America

by sandysmom at Citysearch

I would like to say that I never worry about Sandy when she is there. They are very good to her and I can tell because there is no stress in her face. The bath that they gave her this time, they took extra care of her to get all the loose fur off of her that makes her hot. If you are thinking of leaving your pet with Pet Resorts please don't ever think twice about it.

They take care of them just as we would take care of company coming to our home. They are kind, loving and very thoughtful of our pets. I have left her 3 times now and I am sorry this is the only review I have left but, to make up for all the other times please understand this is our only child. If you trust anyone to keep your child while you are away this is the family to do so. Sandy is 11.5 years of age.

Again I would like to thank all who work at Pet Resorts for all they do for Sandy during her stay. She will stay many more times. Mrs. Pat L.

  • Pros: Freindly, caring staff. They treat Sandy like she is theirs. Sandy likes it there.

Superior dog trainers!!

by Bellegrl at Citysearch

I recently contacted Pet Resorts to get training for my dog. I signed up for the training package which is outsourced to Nashville K9. A very professional and qualified trainer contacted me quickly and answered all my questions and promised I'd return to an obedient dog. I made the mistake with past trainers of going with the less experienced ones with no success. When people at the dog park comment on how well behave he is, I wish I could take credit but all credit is due to Ali at Nashville K9. It's so rewarding to have a well behaved dog!

  • Pros: Qualified and Professional Trainers

Find a more loving caregiver/facility

by schockley at Citysearch

Although to all apperances the facility is clean and convenient, it is not a happy place. Have you ever noticed that the folks that work there never smile? And they are definitely not trained to handle elderly, special needs dogs. When we picked up our beloved border collie from their facility on a Sunday afternoon (after two days there) she was unable to walk at all and had obviously not eaten or had any water because she couldn't move. We had to have her put to sleep the next day. Absolutely heartbreaking! Why didn't they call me?

  • Pros: Not trained to handle elderly guests. No feeling of care or concern at this facility.
  • Cons: Easy to schedule, appears clean, convenient for travelers heading west, allow dogs' personal belongings.

Response from this business

On arrival, we had to carry the dog to her kennel because she couldn?t walk. She was fed, given water and walked at least 2 times per day (we had to carry her to the yard and help her stand so she could eliminate on the grass).

Our records show that she had been eating, drinking and eliminating daily. It was heart breaking for us to watch her as she couldn?t see or hear and it was hard for her just to stand-up.

There was no reason to call the owner. When the owner arrived we carried the dog out but she wouldn?t stand up on the tile, so we carried her out to the car.

The Vet?s office said they had been expecting this outcome for some time and that her final condition had nothing to do with boarding at Pet Resorts. I don?t blame the owners for putting off the inevitable for as long as possible, our pets are like children to us and it is a very terrible and difficult decision to have to make. Our deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to them.

Molly Loves Pet Resorts!

by KendallJ at Citysearch

After boarding our Border Collie ?Molly? with Pet Resorts many times, I think I need to add a review. We travel out of town 4-5 times a year and have left Molly with you all several times. Every time we do, we can tell she absolutely love staying with you. When we pull into the parking lot, she gets so excited. We can hardly hold her back as she breaks into a sprint for the door. Every time we picked her up, she's clean and happy. She is well adjusted when we get home and doesn't seem like her routine has been disrupted at all. We just got a new puppy, so next time we leave town, we'll need a room for two!

Many Thanks!! Kendall J.

  • Pros: I feel good about leaving her there because she enjoys her "mini-vacations"
  • Cons: None so far. We have been using Pet Resorts several years.
