My husband and I decided to give Buca di Beppo a try (we usually eat at Carraba's when we want Italian), since we were going to be in Cool Springs. The place looks a little divey when you walk in, and the hostess takes you through the kitchen to seat you, which was interesting, but the food was AMAZING. We tried the fried mozzarella, and the marinara was to die for. For dinner we ordered the chicken parmesean (and asked for them to make it spicy) and the finocchiona pizza. Both were fantastic, and it was quite possibly the best chicken parmesean in Nashville (and my husband should know, he has ordered it at about 15 different restaurants here!). As for the pizza, it was such a perfect blend of flavors (I substituted the peppers for mushrooms) with just the right balance of crust, toppings, cheese and sauce. We dined kind of late (almost 10 pm), and service can sometimes be poor at restaurants as it gets close to closing, but our server, Sam, was very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu, our glasses stayed full, and our food came out fast, hot, and just as we ordered it.
Pros: ambience, food, service, value
Cons: none

This location is a unique experience. They pride themselves in keeping the authenticate basement feel as the founding family created. With this basement look and feel they have been able to keep with a very nice and intriguing environment. I absolutely love the large portions and the friendliness of the staff. The will always be a location for suggestion with large family meals and corporate lunches.

Everytime that I have been here the food has been amazing. The portions are so big you will have enough for lunch the next day. I have always had great service. The new pork dish will melt in your mouth.

My mother and I had heard great things but were immediately unsure when we saw the array of wild pictures on the walls. Much to our surprise our server Eveiean knew anythign and everythign about the menu and answered all of our ridiculous questions. The food was nothing short if impressive and the dessert was to die for. Would have been better if there was more of us, but still not complaining. Would suggest this reasturaunt to anyone!! Thank you Buca!!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Portions too big!!!

My mom and I went to Buca di Beppo on Saturday after golf lessons. We were starving! We shared the small eggplant parm. and small spaghetti w/ marinara. We began our meal with the salad topped with proscuitto and gorgonazola--incredible! The salad's Italian dressing wasn't heavy and the proscuitto was fried; it was perfect. The eggplant was perfectly fried and thick enough to taste eggplant, and the marina tasted homemade and slow-cooked. We were ravenous, but we still had enough to take home to the guys. Our only regret? No room for dessert.
Pros: charming, fabulous service, mmmm food
Cons: none

Being a server for over 16 years, I think I know a bit about serving tables. Despite them not having the shrimp dish they sometimes have on special, Alicia went ahead and checked if the kitchen could make it anyway, they couldn't which didn't matter because she recommended a different dish which was just as good. Alicia was a shear delight. We never had to ask for refills, she was very attentive to our table, she truly made us feel as though we were the only one's she was waiting on. We had a great time despite the kids acting a bit wild. Thank you Alicia for the great service and we willl definitely request you everytime. Welcome to Nashville!
Pros: Alicia, Service, Food

We shared the salad with proscuito and gorgonzola - and it was great. The stuffed pasta dishes were all distinct, and the chicken marsala was exceptional. We all shared, and got to enjoy a lot of treats. The garlic bread with mozz was like a small pizza, and perfectly toasted. They took us 45 minutes after our reservations. We drove 45 minutes to get there, so I was upset at that. But the food made me forgive them. You enter through the kitchen, and next time I hope to eat in the kitchen.
Pros: good food, big portions, made to share
Cons: 45 min late on reserv

We went through the kitchen (first timers) while being told in a monotone voice, "The reason we take people through the kitchen is because it's the heart.". When we arrived at our table our table appeared like it had never been wiped, just the new placemats replaced the old. We ordered the calamari and spinach salad which were amazing! Our salad was served with tongs that had old, caked on food on them, but we didn't use them and had a great salad. We had the chicken marsala, and the special...YUM! The portions didn't seem like enough for two people, but we still took a lot home. Finally, we ordered tiramisu and almost died when we saw the size of it and tasted it! Staff was VERY loud talking to each other...don't care who's on line 4 for who!
Pros: Fresh, delicious food, Tiramisu, Good parking
Cons: LOUD staff, ROBOT host staff, Poor wine service

I recently visited this restaurant, and I loved the way the decor looked as I walked in. I was, however, very dissapointed with extremely slow service. I spent about 2 hours going back and forth with them as it took that long to 1. Get drinks 2. Figure out the recommended dish was out 3. Get my final selection. Finally, I found that my final selection was very bland and uninteresting. They should have been paying me to eat here.
Pros: Interesting Decor
Cons: Slow Service, Bland Food, Poor Management

Buca di Beppo has very high a Citysearch rating but failed, by far, to live up to it. There was no wait to be seated for the place was almost vacant. Still, however, nearly 20 minutes before our server was able to take drink orders. Once deciding on a meal, a special, we were treated to empty drink glasses and a 45 minute wait before being told our main course was out. I am not picking on our server, who seemed to be working alone, as fault lies in the kitchen manager for not informing anyone of the shortage. The only redeeming quality is it was free, not, we were told, having anything to do with us scouting for a group meeting place. Finally receiving our replacement order, after 2 hours inside, but it too failed to meet expectations. I suggest cooking at home.
Pros: Family Style, Convenient
Cons: Service, Quality, Value
