The service staff is wonderful, and very knowledgeable both in etiquette and the menu. The General manger Robin was fantastic. Most of the food on the menu may not sound too good, but it is in fact some of the best food my wife and I have ever eaten. The drinks were priced well and good selection. The atmosphere was very intimate and relaxing. The noise level was a bit loud but we had a wedding party going on at the time. Prices are very reasonable for the product and service you receive. Not only will we return, but if they had a membership, we would be first on the list!
- Pros: Food, Service, Drinks, Price, Atmosphere
- Cons: Noise
Had To Come to Nashville for THE BEST Halibut!!

We dined at The Acorn last night and we agreed it had to rank as one of the Top 10 meals we've ever had...and we're in our 60's! Since it wasn't crowded (a Tuesay night), we decided to first have a drink at their warm, intimate bar where Steve was more than accommodating...and makes an excellent Mohito. After just 15 minutes, we felt like we had known him for years...and he new the menu inside & out. The bluecheese w/ pepper & berry jam and toast points appetizer we had at the bar was simply incredible.
When we decided to sit down in the main dining room, we were pleased to discover that Steve was also going to be our waiter. We had pretty much decided on our entres and we were not disappointed. We split their delicious endive w/ Granny Smith apple salad with apple vinigrete...I should say they split it for us, serving it on two unique rectangular plates. Plenty for two! My companion had their scallops which were plump, perfectly cooked and in a light sauce to die for. I had their crusted halibut with marinated green beans and chopped, grilled sweet potatoes...and like I said above, it was the best piece of halibut I've ever had. It was a very ample size and tasted like it had been caught five minutes before it landed on the grill, also in a delicious, semi-sweet sauce.
If you live in Nashville or plan to visit, do yourself a BIG favor and make a reservation at The Acorn...you will not be disappointed!!
- Pros: Delicious & Creative Menu; Cozy Atmosphere; Excellent Servic
- Cons: Dining Room Could Use Some Decorative Green Plants

Our experience at the Acorn was superb - we were nervously planning a banquet for 75 college athletes and their parents after a championship meet in Nashville. The Acorn was recommended to us, but we live out of town and had never eaten there. But from the first phone call we made to inquire, the staff was delightful and attentive to every need. Julie Rahimi bent over backwards to assist us in planning a wonderful event. Robin and staff handled every detail the night of the banquet. The food was delicious (not the usual case at large sports banquets in our experience), tailored to our event, and portions so plentiful that even after feeding a ravenous men's swim team, Robin offered to allow visiting alums to eat as well. We highly recommend the Acorn and plan to return whenever we visit Nashville.
- Pros: Service with a personal touch
- Cons: We wished we live close enough to eat here regularly

I have visited Acorn several times in the past year. I have never been disappointed. Their staff always treat me like a special guest. If you go try the halibut and finish off the meal with the chocolate roulade...like eating a chocolate cloud!!!

I visit Nashville twice a month and eat out at every meal while I'm there. I went to Acorn recently (2/7/09) and it was absolutely terrible. The room was too loud, lights were at a strange level and the hostess walked by us about, 100-200 times during the short gross meal.
We asked the waitress for food and wine suggestions, which she gave quiet loudly but sweetly. The wine was fine. The food was horrible. The bread was stale and hard. The squash ravioli was bland and tasted like I could make it (I cannot cook). The waitress recommended the trout and veal as her favorites. They were horrible. The veal was fatty and deep fried.
Nashville has a great food scene, with inventive chefs making delicious food. Acorn is just not one of those places.
Stay away.

By the second time we came here, the hostess knew us -- not only did she recognize us when we arrived at the restaurant, but she recognized my name and voice over the phone when I called for the reservation. Such attention to detail is a highlight at the Acorn, where the staff goes out of its way to make your experience flawless.
What a beautiful dining experience! The bar is intimate enough for an apertif, and it leads in well to dinner in the main dining room. There, service is impeccable; the waitstaff is knowledgeable without being pretentious, and they're clearly familiar with the menu and potential wine accompaniments. The food is delectable -- and their vegetarian options, which feature seasonal vegetables and seasonings, are no less complex and decadent than their more traditional fare. Any dessert with dark chocolate is a must-have here.
- Pros: bar, wine list, menu offerings, vegetarian options, desserts, wait staff and hosts

In celebration of my husband's graduation from law school, we decided to make reservations for our whole family to have dinner at The Acorn -- a place we had heard was wonderful, but didn't know much about. The day of our dinner reservation, I received a call from Nathan, the manager at the restaurant, asking if we were celebrating any special occasion. I told him we were, in fact, celebrating, and he chatted with me for a good 15 minutes, just getting to know who would be attending dinner, where we might like to sit, what kind of atmosphere we were looking for, etc. I was extremely impressed by his friendliness, but still wasn't prepared for the fantastic experience we were soon to have. When we arrived with our large group, we were greeted by Nathan, who ushered us to a big table on the first floor and assured us that we would be treated like "VIP's" for the night -- he was right! We were given a champagne toast, a chef's tasting, and wine pairings -- all with congratulations from the wait staff and management. In addition, the food was cooked to perfection and the flavors were exquisite. We ended up staying and talking until everyone else in the restaurant had left! Our parents were greatly impressed, we all had a fabulous time, and our families STILL talk about what a great dinner we had at The Acorn! My husband and I have since gone back again for his birthday and had the same wonderful experience. So, if you haven't tried The Acorn yet, GO! Go now! :)
- Pros: Everything!
- Cons: Nothing -- everything was perfect!

My girlfriend prefers Yellow Porch, but my favorite Nashville restaurant is The Acorn. Their bartender makes fantastic, interesting cocktails while anything out of their kitchen is great. Plus, their outdoor seating can't be beat.
- Pros: cocktails, food, service, and outdoor dining
- Cons: can be a touch loud

Delicious food - try the filet. Great service - everyone there seems really happy to be there. Creative menu - not too short, not too long. Inviting atmosphere - love the lighting and exposed brick. Had a drink in the big booth in the upstairs bar before dinner on the patio - tons of space, great drinks, patio is unique being on the second level. Everything was great so I decided to let people know about this great spot in Nashville. Great Job Acorn. Keep up the good work.
- Pros: Food, food, food. And service and atmosphere.
- Cons: Closed on Sundays

I was recently in Nashville for my cousin's graduation from Vanderbilt and my family had a fantastic time at The Acorn. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the service was excellent. Our entire group loved the atmosphere (particularly the artwork throughout the building) and we enjoyed ourselves throughout our evening there. I had an Asian-style salmon dish which was simply delicious and the rest of my family left raving about their dishes. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant- you're in for a wonderful experience altogether!
- Pros: Service, ambience, food
