We have eaten here several times and the food is extremely good. Service is a little slow, but when everything is cooked from scratch, I do not mind waiting. I had the macadamian nut encrusted grouper, which was excellent. They even substituted the rice for asparagus for me. Since it is a hotel, they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill, but as long as you are aware of this it is no problem. Just look at the bill and it says it plainly that the gratuity has been added! We will be going back again. I can't recommend the Sunday brunch, it is just average, but all of the other meals we have eaten there were excellent.
Pros: The food! The view isn't bad either...
Cons: Sunday brunch

Total Ripoff-- They charged my card a double tip....yes for more than I signed for! The service was slow, food was bland. I'd rather eat at Mcdonalds where I will get better service. I should have taken notice with only two couples in the intire restaurant. Never again! One star--place stinks
Pros: Could'nt find any.
Cons: Service, food, integrity (charged my card after I left)

I ate at Latitude while staying at the Marriott. I made a reservation to ensure good service. When I got there, the restaurant was empty, it lacked ambience, and the service was slow. I will not be returning.

I was with a group of eight ladies who ate here on Sunday afternoon. We were in fact the only patrons in the restaurant at the time, and it still took close to 20-25 minutes for our salads. I ask for lots of lemon. The waitress brought 4 pieces for 4 people. Blue cheese dressing was pasty with very little blue cheese in it. Crackers were stale. Waitress brought out rolls at the end of the meal and they were cold and hard. She said she just got them out the bun warmer. Was it unplugged? They brag about the "adept" Vandy student waiters; inept more like. Others in our party had smoked salmon and commented it was not enough value for the price. I need to be rich and starving before I go back. I expect better trained waiters and better service in a high end restaurant!
Pros: quiet, good view
Cons: poor service, not enough value

Latitude Restaurant @ The Marriott Vanderbilt an unexpected find!!! Fresh seafood is hard to come-by here in middle America, the chef paired our meal with local Tennessee products like country ham, caviar (from Savannah TN.) and wine from Chateau Ross. Nothing says more about a restaurant when they choose to invest in local people, even the steak I had was Tennessean. But besides the food and service, the view of the Parthenon was cool also.
Pros: Free Valet, View of Parthenon, Service
Cons: no outside seating, it's at a hotel, uncrowded
