For what this restaurant offers in ambiance it sorely lacks in food quality and service. What a holy nightmare this place was, and during a lunch hour slow enough that we were two of only four guests in the entire restaurant, with a disheveled staff of about 15. The food took 45 minutes, while one dish (a salad, no less) had to be completely redone, and my husband's pork tenderloin was a charcoal briquette by the time it and my (second) soggy entree salad made it to the table. The server was polite but useless and stood around chatting aimlessly while we waited for two simplistic dishes, the lonely ice pooling at the bottom of our empty goblets. Perhaps the worst part is that you can see the kitchen from the main dining area, so I had the privilege of watching my salad (topped with fish) sit for 35 minutes, and then had to request a new dish when the waitress actually brought it to the table warm and stale. No apologies, no refills, NO THANK YOU. Taste-wise, they had what was purported to be ahi tuna atop my redone yet still mushy salad. It might as well have been Chicken of the Sea for all the flavor it had. The sauce on the rice noodles (with the pork dish) was tasty, we assume only because it was the one thing that wasn't overcooked. Alas, everything at Saffire leaves you feeling blue. D-
