Great Customer Service AND they beat Internet Pricing!. Loved the store and their cat! Thought for sure they would be extremely high because it looked so upscale! What a treat to find a cute store in an old shopping center! They also actually spoke with us, asked us questions to help with our remodel and gave us a quote that beat internet pricing.

Great People, Great Selection, Great Store!. Our builder insisted we shop downtown Nashville, We went on Citysearch and looked at feedback. The downtown retailer had such negative reviews and the follow up were so scripted! The positive feedback seemed to come from employees and look at the verbage, it is the same as the replies to the negative feedback! We decided to check out Essence Lighting.

I loved doing business at Essence.! They really cared and each of the sales people helped one another. The store had flowers, it was clean, the people were Great Great Great and the prices were so good. Highly recommend.

I love this store!. I wanted a ceiling fan for a room I've been redecorating, and stopped in to compare prices. Although they had a fantastic selection, I ended up buying an outdoor light for my porch, and a lamp! I ended up putting a fixture on layaway and haven't even gotten to the room I'm working on!

Customer Svc A +

Selections A+

Prices.....absolutely competitive. Free would've been better ;-)

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE BEST SELECTION GREATEST BUILDING PARTNER!. We drove everywhere looking for lighting for our remodel. Our contractor sent us to the local Home Expo since we wanted an upgraded look. They were cumbersome and the guy in the lighting department wanted to also be our decorator. We left. Went to a big lighting retailer downtown. RUDE rude rude people. Did I say arrogant too? Essence Lighting never once asked about how much we wanted to spend. They were so helpful, they asked lots of questions, they left us alone to look around but kept in contact. It is apparently locally owned and they actually cared about their service. They made difficult decisions very easy.

Greatest home accessory & lighting store EVER. We were having our dream home built and were completely overwhelmed. Our builder suggested Lowe's/Home Depot or go all the way to a down town area lighting showroom. We went to the the big box retailer and got no service and a really bad selection. We went down town and the showroom people were rude and when they found out our budget, seemed really disinterested. They gave us a clip board and then never came to find us! Our real estate agent told us about Essence Lighting. HUGE selection! GREAT people! They came to the house to get a lighting list together for us, we showed them the style of our furniture/cabinet/granite and they were spot on with designs we loved! They were simply the best. The pricing was even better than Lowe's or Home Depot! After we moved in they even came out to help me select mirrors and lamps.

GREAT Customer Service - Instore and At Project Site!!. We were relocating and needed help to pick out lighting, appliances, etc. Our builder sent us downtown to work with "his" lighting store. The first question was if we were building and what our budget was. Then the sales staff gave us a clip board! They were obviously too busy with the designers to work with us.

We drove back to the subdivision thru Hendersonville and saw Essence Lighting. We were greeted when we walked in! We were shown around! We were asked questions relative to our style, not our available dollars to spend. We made an appointment to have someone meet us at the house to help with selections. We felt engaged with the process without being patronized. Our experience from the selection to the delivery was informative, professional and actually stress free! The communication was great, the product was delivered on time and within the quote given. They even put light bulbs in each box and marked the boxes with the room it was to go in to so that the electricians and project manager would have no questions! You can not get that service at "box stores" and certainly not at the "old school" lighting store!

Stood Out Above Other Stores. I'm having a house built in Nashville, so I came to citysearch to read about local retailers of things I'd need. Due to not many having results, I chose to begin at this store and then go to ones in the phone book. I went to two stores similar to this one, as well as Home Depot.

Although this was not the most inexpensive (Home Depot and another retailer), for similar prices I had twice as much variety of several types of lighting, from outside to inside. I thought I would only have enough funds to plan the basic rooms with nice items, I've also been able to afford upgrading my bathrooms to sheer beauty. I'll be calling my contractor tomorrow with the stock numbers and the business name. The customer service helped tremendously in finding ideas and other options that can be ordered, and their assistance stood out in my mind all day.

It's the little things. I was at the restaurant next door to EL and decided to window shop. A gorgeous painting caught my eye, and I ended up buying it with a lamp to enhance the spot I plan to put it in. After discussing another room I'd like to redecorate someday, I was given some fantastic ideas by the staff. It will be the first room I've done without the guidance and security of a designer. The smallest of details were brought to my attention that I never would've thought of by myself! The staff is wonderful and felt like family by the time I left. I'd give it 5 stars!

A Mans Point of View. My wife hired an interior decorator and went to another shop very popular to the area. I went to give input and we ended up walking out the door. That shop was more concerned with selling whole packages and gave an outrageous price. At this point I was ready to fire the designer also. That weekend we went browsing on our own and the owner had the exact items we had our hearts set on as well as other items to accent our home. We bought several extra pieces and it was still cheaper than the "H" place gave on just lighting! When our family grows, we'll be back. Thanks Kathy!
