pizza pie in the sky

by SassySister124 at Citysearch

We stopped by Pie in the Sky while we were visiting Nashville last weekend. It has a big WOW factor. The atmosphere is awesome. The food was delicious. AND they have 2 for 1 beers. Yes please! We will definitely be stopping by Pie in the Sky next time we are in the Nashville area.

Good Old Fashioned Southern Hospitality

by VanTheMan at Citysearch

Without a doubt, Pie in the Sky is the best pizza in Nashville. They really go above and beyond to provide excellent quality in their ingredients. You can taste the difference in every bite. The people are so nice. I usually pick up my food and take it home. When I walk in the door I'm greeted by a friendly hostess. Then I'll head up to the bar to grab the food. They'll ask if I want a drink while I'm waiting for the pizza. Sometimes I'll grab a beer or a glass of wine if the pizzas aren't ready yet. Then as I'm leaving they offer to give me some parm and crushed red pepper to go. About 5 people say 'have a nice day' as you're leaving. Now that's what I call good old fashioned southern hospitality.“

Be Warned

by Albert788 at Citysearch

we have been here many times and it has been great.

But NOW service and food quality has rapidly declined.

We were there a few Friday nights ago and were subjected to a woman ( who held herself out to be the manager) spending most of her time talking with an older couple in the booth next to us. She was speaking in a very loud voice about her desires to be an actor/model in New York... She came back to that table numerous times, ignoring her work....speaking about her " work husband" who came up and chatted as well to these people. The other staff were obviously trying to get her attention to take calls, etc, but it was very obvious to us that she had her own agenda and it was VERY distracting. Our service which had always been great before, was also lacking this evening. Our server, a young lady, was very disinterested in doing her job. We have always enjoyed Pie in the Sky, but will never be back after this display of behavior.

Owners of businesses....please supervise your employees.

Amore!

by LJ66 at Citysearch

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie--that's amore! Well, Pie in the Sky for me was love at first sight. Watched the game last night at the Cool Springs location. Buy one get one free Miler Lite and the carnivore pizza and buffalo wings are out of this world. The wings are jumbo size and not fatty like other places tend to serve. Definitely worth the trek in the snow.

pie in the sky party

by SammieStone at Citysearch

We had our work party at pie in the sky last night and were pleased with the experience. I reserved the party room area for a couple hours and ordered a variety of large pizzas. The Carnivore, Herbivore, White Pizza, Margherita, Supreme Happy Family and a couple cheese and pepperoni. We also order a couple wing samplers. The waitress set up a long table so people could grab what they wanted. It was perfect! There was enough room to sit or stand and walk around. I'm so glad we chose to have the party here.

Happy Family

by KyleMac at Citysearch

This was a great place to duck in during the holiday traffic near the Cool Springs mall. My kids saw Santa Claus driving around in a Pie in the Sky car and begged to go. We hadn't been before, but were pleasantly surprised.

Our waiter suggested their version of a supreme pizza called a Happy Family pizza. The combination of meats for me and veggies for my wife hit the spot. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza for the kids.

We saw a sign that said, "Hey Kids! Ask for Dough!" near the kitchen window. We asked our waitor about it and he said that they give kids balls of pizza dough to play with. My children enjoyed making their own pizza by playing while my wife and I could kept an eye on them from a table nearby.

I give this place two thumbs up. We'll be back.

Falling down where it once was good

by questions123 at Citysearch

So, I've eaten there many times...seven years ago it was quite frequently...but less so as we felt they had changed the quality of their ingredients and the restaurant became a little dirtier and the service less helpful.

The cheese used to be quite good but now it is pasty and even if you pay for extra cheese, you end up with less than you might see elsewhere.

We had visitors in town and they remembered eating there and liking it some time ago...we went with concerns that they would be disappointed and we all were. It started at the front desk. When I asked how long the wait might be, the answer was given with a sigh and no smile even though there were not that many people asking and our request was given gently.

The escort to the table was just follow me with no welcome with menus thrown in a pile. Half our drink order was forgotten and we had to request again and the root beer we ordered was colored soda water. When they acknowledged that it was because they had run out of root beer, there was no friendly apology but a "well what do you want". The table smelled of sour bleach cleaning solution and the floor was dirty.

The crust remains decent but this is not a cheap place to eat given the decline in the quality of the food served, the lack of attention to how it is served, and the lack of attention to how clean the restaurant is.

Again, once was a favorite...now never again. (And don't try to complain through their website...no feedback form and no e-mail address...so don't bother giving them any suggestions online).

Pie in the sky

by J M 40 at Citysearch

We have always enjoyed Pie in the Sky but the customer service is horrible. We have tried to call and put our name on a list. They say there is not a wait and can't put your name on a list. We showed up and it was a 45 minute wait. We asked to speak to the manager when we got there to ask about the process and she was absolutely no help. Didn't apologize, didn't offer to help, just acted like we were bothering them to be in the restaurant.

Family friendly & Adult Friendly

by RaindropsAreBeautiful at Citysearch

I love Pie in the Sky in Cool Springs because it's so versatile! It's family friendly and adult friendly. One night I can take my kids, who will play with dough and "make their own pizza." Then the next night I am able to go again with my girl friends and sit in the adult section. We can sip our Happy Hour wine (buy one get one free) with a partition separating us from the family side of the restaurant. I highly recommend eating here with friends and family!

  • Pros: adult section, family section
