Pricey for average food
by blueskadoo
I would give three stars because the food was average, BUT because of the price it goes to below average. While I didn't pay for my food (I was at a work function) I could still see the price for what I would have had to pay for soup, salad and a club sandwhich and it was pretty ridiculous. Especially because it was only so-so. I've had better Chicken Tortilla soup at Sub Stop, and the Ceasar salad and club sandwhich were really on par with O'Charleys. The building is really pretty, there's ample parking and the wait staff is really nice, so that's good. But the price for the taste of the food just isn't worth it. You can find better expensive restaurants or get the same taste for a lot cheaper.
- Pros: Staff is excellent and plenty of parking
- Cons: Way overpriced for average food
Great reception for our daughter's wedding!
by Hartselletider
On May 23, we had a reception for 30+ people (family and bridal party) for our daughter's wedding. None of us lives in the Nashville area, so, other than a visit to Mere Bulles a few weeks earlier and some reviews, we had no knowledge of the restaurant. What sold us on the restaurant for our event was Bonnie, the catering coordinator, and her easy style and willingness to accommodate our requests.
Our food from the catering menu was delicious, as voiced by everyone there. The service was outstanding. Bonnie made the room arrangement as we needed and let us bring in flowers and chair covers to get the room just right. The owner even helped arrange the food on the buffet tables as everything was being set up. The waiters were responsive throughout the reception.
Our group consisted of family from South Carolina, east Tennessee, Alabama, Vermont, and Alaska; and attendants from Arizona, New Jersey, and Kentucky. All loved the setting, the food, and the overall experience.
Thank you Bonnie and Mere Bulles! You will live on in our family through the photos of the event.
- Pros: Bonnie, food, better than having to hire a caterer and a venue and table/chair rental.
Great location, decent food
by Know what I like
Wish I could write a review that the food was wonderful but the truth is the food is pretty good but should be great for the prices they charge and the beautiful location they have. They need to update their menu to add more seafood dishes. Good wine selection and reasonable prices on the drinks.
- Pros: Location, service, bar, parking
- Cons: price versus vaule of the food
I love this place!
by Girlielalala
There are not many places you can go in Nashville and receive such great service and quality of food. I think everyone should eat here at least once! Everytime I have eaten here the food has been terrific, and the service has been absolutely superb. Only one time did I have a problem with my food, and the manager quickly fixed everything and took care of us. One of the most memorable items is the she-crab bisque which is one of the best soups I have ever tasted!! I even got to hear a story about the history of the house and Maryland Farms. There aren't very many hospitable restuarants in Nashville, but when you find one like this you just have to keep coming back. I look forward to going back soon!
- Pros: service, food, parking
- Cons: none!
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED
by jkess
Mere Bulles has a good reputation in the Nashville area. Today I tried to have lunch at Mere Bulles and when I say tried it is because I could not eat the food that they attempted to prepare. I went with 4 other business professionals in the Brentwood area and the service and food was pitiful. That is the best word I can think of to explain my experience. I just got back to my office and I could not wait to write this review I even signed up on this site specifically to write this review. First we ordered our drinks the waitress gave every person the wrong drinks. After this we ordered appetizers, which again were given to the wrong people and we were not even asked if they were correct they sat down the plates and walked away so we had to hand the plates to each other. I had the lobster bisque which after a bit of shell still turned out pretty good. Probably the best experience at Mere Bulles which is sad! Then we all ordered the filet with the gargonzola cumbles, each of us asked for it to be prepared in a different way whether it was medium, medium well, or medium rare. I ordered my filet medium. Again when the food was brought out each person received the wrong steak. I checked my steak and it was brown all the way through. Not really how a steak cooked medium should look. I typically never send food back bacause of the horror stories but I was disappointed and I never eat filet well done. Then after everyone else had finished the so called manager came with a new plate for me said a quick apology then walked away before I could check my steak. The new steak was absolutely raw!! So needless to say I had mash potatoes as my entree. I was never offered a new steak instead the server just brought out 4 desserts eventhough there were 5 of us. Then when the bill came they gave us the wrong check. I know I got in depth on this review but it happened today . I receive better service at a fast food restaurant then Mere Bulles and the manager should be ashamed.
- Pros: Ambience
- Cons: Service, Food, Management
Best North Brentwood Restaurant!
by juiceplusdiva
Mere Bulles is consistently excellent ... food, service, and ambiance! A couple of our favorite menu items include the salmon spinach salad and the sea bass. Of course, we would never go and not order a bowl of crab bisque first! It's the best we have ever had and sometimes in the winter it's worth going to Mere Bulles just for the bisque! The desserts are very good as well. The creme brulee is one of our favorites.
Maryland Farms breeds run-of-the-mill dining.
by Contributor
In Short
Maryland Farms no longer breeds horses--only hearty Brentwood appetites. The original plantation house, buried among brick boxes in its namesake office park, is a bustling corporate operation. Diners include the area's enormous pool of professionals, special-occasion groups, couples and families. The game plan here is to serve decent, high-end food to a crowd expecting no surprises. Best bets are the restaurant's simple steaks, juicy prime rib, rolls and daily blue-plate lunch specials.
- Pros: good brunch
- Cons: uninspired dishes
Worth the Trip
by skyride56
I think Mere Bulles is a true hidden treasure in Nashville. Food was supperb, service was exceptional (ask for Joe), atmosphere was upscale and comfortable. It did get a bit noisy due to a large group seated next to us. Looking forward to our next visit.
- Pros: great menu, felt welcome
- Cons: Bit noisy in patio

went to set by myself at the bar and had a very slow great. several staff walked by with no acknowlegement. once we got started the food was very good, except the bread was terrible. service was ok, however not as professional as expected. overall the honest critic would return if i had an expence account, TOO EXPENSIVE for what i received.
Thanks though!
