Worst Service I've Ever Received From A Bartender
by Brandi722
June 26, 2009
I've never been treated so poorly, by a person making a living on tips, before I set foot in this bar.
Let me start by stating that I was a bartender before and throughout my college years (just graduated) and I knew how to treat customers so that they would enjoy their time, and I ALSO knew how to ensure that I was left a nice tip.
Apparently Casey (was that that blonde's name?) didn't quite grasp that concept.
Would you consider a driver's license far more valid than a government-issued military identification card? I wouldn't... but this idiot did... and treated me like I was a child trying to sneak a few drinks.
There isn't much information on both the front AND the back of this type of ID, but the bartender 'read' it for nearly one and a half minutes. When she was done, she demanded that I give her my driver's license so that she could compare the two. Almost another minute went by before she LITERALLY flicked them back to me across the bar.
Now, people.. like I said, I've bartended for over five years. I know how to be nice to people. When I walked in, I had my ID ready so that she wouldn't be inconvenienced by having to ask. Needless to say, I wasn't a rude customer nor did I deserve this treatment.
Beware if you are in the service trying to find a good time at The Stage.
- Pros: quite touristy
- Cons: service

ONE OF THE LARGEST COUNTRY MUSIC STAGE BARS ON BROADWAY!

It was a nice, comfortable bar. The live music was great. They have a large area for dancing if one desires. It seems this place has more of the "above average" talented bands performing here. The beer was a little expensive though ($4.00 just for a Pabst). I didn't stay too long.....just had one beer and watched the band.
- Pros: Large Stage, excellent bands, large dance floor, large bar area
- Cons: Overpriced compared to other bars in the same area
Avoid any time.

I went in on Friday night with my boyfriend to have a few drinks. We weren't there long before someone grabbed my butt. My boyfriend laughed and told him to go on. That same person grabbed for my breast. I was shocked. My boyfriend asked the bartender if they allowed this kind of behavior and she said she would get someone to take care of it. The next thing I knew my boyfriend and I were being thrown out. Once outside, we were told that the person (and I use that term loosely) is good friends with the door guy. I couldn't believe it. Don't go unless your friends with the door man because you could be next on his list.

This place is almost always packed and they usually have good bands. I always drop in for a few drinks when I'm downtown and it's a good time. IF you don't like crowds, this place aint for you. Most of the time there's a line waiting to get in. You never know who's gonna show up though, and that's always cool.
Fun atmosphere.

Great bands that play popular covers. A mixed crowd, college students to 50 year olds. No cover charge. The line can be pretty long Thursday through Saturday.
- Pros: no cover! fun bands
- Cons: long lines
Do some serious toe-tapping at the biggest stage on Broadway.

In Short
This super-sized honky-tonk is a staple of Music City nightlife. Giant wall mural, running the length of the room, pays proper respect to country legends of the past and a well-stocked bar brings in fans of newbies. The spacious atmosphere means that the bands are a bit bigger and a bit louder and often times than those you'll find at neighboring establishments. Come with a big group and don't fret about finding seats for everyone.

I was recently in Nahville and friends took me to The Stage. What an evening. The service was excellent and the band Jackson Hill was fantastic. They have an amazing blend of country, southern rock and good ole rock and roll. Not at all what I expected out of Nashville but it was a great night. I am a non smoker and bars sometimes get so bad you can't get any fesh air. This place made me very comfortable although folks were smoking. I will be sure to get there my next trip to Nashville if Jackson Hill is in town.
- Pros: Jackson Hill, the music and the service
- Cons: smoke but not horrible

What a night of good ol' fashion country rockin' and stompin'. Made it in and saw a new young singer named Lewis Copeland; what a great singer and entertainer! If you're in Nashville, stop in The Stage and if your lucky, they may have Copeland playing again. Great Place!
- Pros: In the middle of everything
- Cons: no food
