First visit to Provence
by Flsurfgrl at Citysearch
My husband and I first visited Nashville last summer while moving our daughter to Vanderbilt University and we just happened upon Hillsboro Village. Our daughter spent much of her time shopping at the various clothing stores while we checked out the restaurants and cafes. Much to our delight, we wondered into Provence. We've been back twice since spring break and think their soups and sandwiches are better than anything Orlando has to offer. If only Provence would come to FL and open in Orlando. I would be sipping coffee and having lunch with my girlfriends every day if we had a place like this. Things to try: the coffee, the croissants, paninni sandwiches, and the SOUPS. The staff remembered us from our last visit and the manager insisted we try the bread basket with jams...delicious, crusty breads and homemade preserves.
Can't wait to return to Nashville and Hillsboro Village!
The Absoulte Best Bakery and Service in Town!

You know I have read all the reviews of this establishment and most were very sincere and some were just down right discruntled employees talking. I wonder why did you get fired? Was it your strict morale code or your keen buisness since that made it just unbearable to stay. The fact that you write things like this about a wonderful cafe let's me know you still wish you were there. So I ask all the readers to make their own assesment of an awesome taste of France in Nashville. I love Provence and always will.
- Pros: Great Service
- Cons: Not enough locations
Wonderful food!

I tend to visit the Green Hills location of Provence the most but I also like the Hillsboro Village cafe. Check out the new paninis. I had one the other day and it was absolutely delicious! The employees were also super nice and outgoing even though there were so many people in there! Provence rocks!

Provence Breads & Cafe is a personal favorite of mine!!!
by GourmetFoodTN at Citysearch
Provence Breads & Cafe in Hillsboro Village is one of the most enjoyable places to eat in Nashville. It offers a great atmosphere, wonderful food and an experience unlike any other. I visit the cafe with clients, friends and family as often as possible.
My personal favorite is the Turkey sandwich. It is awesome! However, I also love the gourmet cookies and especially the cookies and scones. My gosh... they are great!! It is no wonder why Provence has earned a reputation as being such a great place to eat. The breads are equally impressive.
So, if you live in Nashville or just visiting for the day, check out Provence Breads & Cafe in Hillsboro Village. You are sure to look back on the experience with great appreciation!!!!
DANCING GOAT COMING BACK...IT IS CONFIRMED!
by locar at Citysearch
While walking around town today, I ran into Terry, the owner of Provence. I asked about the rumored return of the Dancing Goat coffee and he absolutely confirmed it. It should be available very soon, maybe even this week...and the self serve and refill bar is also coming back. Customers do have a voice in this establishment. Cudos to them and Bon Appetit!
- Pros: Dancing Goat coffe returning!
Hillsboro Village Bakery & Cafe

Love this place! We?ve lived in the ?Village? for 10 years and this is part of our daily routine, especially for coffee, pastry and bread. This is also a great place to take clients that are considering moving to Nashville as there is nothing more authentic, charming, and French. This past weekend we tried the new chef?s French toast stuffed with ricotta cheese fresh peaches and it was the best ever. Sometimes the line can become pretty long and we?ve even seen it go out the door but the wait is well worth it, particularly at lunch where the salads and sandwiches are always ?off the charts? delicious.
The reason we love patronizing this bakery is because of their commitment to ?all natural? ingredients in all of their foods and the fact that they are local and unique to Nashville. Keep up the good work!
Best Gourmet Sandwiches!
by JStevensJr at Citysearch
Provence offers the very best gourmet sandwiches and artisan breads in Nashville! Without hesitation, I have used Provence for catering on several high profile events and my clients have always been impressed. Personally, I enjoy the Turkey and Emmentaler sandwich and the Tuscan Pullman Bread! Yum! It is obvious why Provence Breads & Cafe is always awarded "Best Bread in Nashville" by the Nashville Scene!

Some of the best coffee in town.

There are lots of reasons to go to Provence, but I go for the coffee. Their Dancing Goat coffee is about the best I've had anywhere. Get it with a bread basket for a simple meal. The atmosphere is casual, but the tall tables are unstable and small, and difficult to balance sometimes, resulting in spilling that great coffee. Not the most comfortable place to lounge, but the coffee is worth the visit.
