In Mexico, they call it "MIERDA." It's not food, it's slop that they dish out to gringos who will horse down any crap and call it ethnic.
Best Food on the Face of the Planet.
This is the best food on the face of the planet!
Have the rainbow trout or the salmon. It's seasoned and cooked perfectly and served on a hot bed of onions and peppers along with a second plate of delicious carrot salsa, pico de gallo, beans, sour cream, guacamole, etc.
In addition, the service is better than any restaurant in the city!
Oh yea.. the best margarita anywhere.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Great Authentic Mexican Food. My wife and I have been going here for years. The food is always consistently delicious and an amazing value for the price! They make a really good Chili Relleno and the Burito Verde is just delicious as are many other dishes. The staff is friendly and orders arrive at your table super fast even when they are extremely busy. They also make a terrific margarita on the rocks. Anyone who doesn’t like this place would probably rather eat something that wasn’t authentic or perhaps something bland… like a chain restaurant such as Cancun. They understand how to season food and have the proper amount of heat. We are big fans of good local restaurants. This is one of our favorites for the value.
We went, saw, ate some of the food that literally looked like dog food, paid, then left.
I wish I could give zero stars because it was just the worst food I've ever had in my life. Bland, awful looking, no presentation, gimme a "HI" at the door would be nice.
The Taco Salad looked like they had opened up a can of dog food, dumped it in the bowl, dropped some lettuce and tomato on top, and then dumped two kinds of shredded cheese on it. Hello, Mexican people. You put the cheese on top of the meat so it melts! Like the Mexicans do in Mexico! That didn't matter anyways because the food was just luke warm.
My partner had an enchilada that had VELVEETA cheese in it. YUUUUUUK!!!!! We thought we were going to get sick right outside the door when we exited.
Don't bother. Don't go. We should have gone to Taco Bell. I may have to move back to New York to get decent food to eat. Yikes.
Best place for quick & delicious food. We have been going here for about 14 years & have never had a bad experience. The food is hot & cooked quickly. The servers are so nice. The guys are cute, too! My son loves their cheese dip & my husband & I love the beef fajitas. If we arrive early we can be seated, order, eat & go in 45 minutes! It's a great family place & when my parents come in town it's their favorite, too! Also, if it is crowded, the wait is never too long.
Best place to eat in Bellevue. My fiance and I moved to Bellevue a year ago from Franklin, and were disappointed to leave all of our favorite restaurants a 20 minute commute away. Our favorite Mexican place used to be "Nachos", but after trying US Border Cantina, we are hooked! Their chile rellanos are genuinely the best I've EVER had in my life- and I've been to Mexico several times. I can't speak on the authenticity of it like others have commented on, but I know it is owned by the people than run it, and whenever we have out of towners looking for great Mexican, this is the place we go- and everyone loves it. Their chicken tacos are also to die for, and their salsa is the best in the WORLD. THAT definitely tastes authentic- not too thick or too sweet, and a nice peppery fresh taste. Whenever we get take out, we ask for extras, and whenever we eat their, we clean them out!! Also- the price CANNOT be beat! For dinner for two, we easily get out under $20 and FULL! For lunch, the prices are even better, and a $15 tab is the norm! Don't miss this jewel, and don't listen to the haters... Maybe they're too used to Taco Bell to appreciate a real, great Mexican dinner!
Love, Love, Love. Despite a couple of negative comments below I decided to try this place since I just moved to Bellevue. I've eaten there four or five times now. I try to always order different things, and I've enjoyed it all!! The servers are always so friendly and the service is so quick! I highly recommend trying this place out. The food, margaritas, and service is wonderful!
Why do people eat here?. I just had my first and last meal at the 'Cantina. The service was ok, but the food may be the worst I've ever had at a mexican place. I really don't know why someone would eat here. I would be embarrassed to serve such poor food.
Worst Food Ever. Honestly it may have been the worst meal I have EVER had out at a restaurant. They used Velveeta type cheese to make my cheese enchiladas. The tortillas were terrible. I bet the good reviews are made by the owners. I cannot imagine why anyone would ever eat there. You are better off getting microwave Mexican food from the supermarket. The price was okay, but the portions were really small for a Mexican restaurant. Go ANYWHERE else. The service was fine. They had okay chips and salsa .
Cozy neighborhood cantina keeps the hungry satisfied in Bellevue..
Utilitarian wooden booths and tables populate the dim interior. The bustling parking lot dictates the scene inside: Dusty pick-up trucks crowd in at lunchtime, minivans and SUVs make up the early dinner rush, and later a steady stream of six-cylinder sedans pull in for fajitas for two. Hungry appetites go for the burrito supreme filled with ground beef and topped with guacamole, cheese and salad. The chili relleno practically explodes with smoky, char-grilled chicken.
