Darlenes Kakes has moved to Green Hills. After being located in the middle of downtown Nashville since 1984, Darlenes Decorated Kakes has moved to Green Hills. Now located inside Foxs Donut Den 3900 Hillsboro Pike 37215 Suite 2. Custom Cake orders can be picked up from 6am until midnight 7 days a week with no parking problems. Of course delivery is available as always. I know this is just information however so many customers find it frustrating to have the wrong address Thank you darlene

Darlene is a God Sent. For birthday's at my company, we always order cakes from the Kroger that's by Rosa Parks, and I can not recall one time that we have picked up a cake that we ordered that was correct. So frustrated, looking for somewhere to order a cake for my manager, I got on Google and found Darlene's Kakes. She has been totally great with us!! We have called last minute to order a cake, and being we put her in a last minute situation, we requested the flavors(which she has a large variety of unlike most cake bakeries I have come across), and told her to work her magic, and that is just what she did. Her cakes are so moist....I don't know how to describe her and her cakes except for excellent!! I saw a review on here that kind of bothered me. You can tell that this woman takes pride in her work and is very courteous. You could come to my office and ask anyone, she makes "THE BEST CAKES", and they deliver!!! You can not beat that! Thank you for your excellent work Mrs. Darlene, and you will be hearing from us next month for our birthday cake!!

DELICIOUS cakes and fantastic personal service. This bakery has it all! There are so many flavors and combinations to choose from and the cakes are unbelievably delicious!

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter attending school in Nashville, and it was PERFECT! It was delivered on time, was so beautiful she sent me a picture, and she told me how absolutely delicious it tasted! This is my go-to bakery every time!

Just Not Good. Our office manager insists on ordering birthday cakes for the staff from Darlene's even though no one likes them. The cake itself is mediocre, being dry, not flavorful at all and very bland. The only choices seem to be yellow or chocolate, but they taste exactly the same. The chocolate doesn't even have any chocolate flavor. The worst part though is the icing which, in a word, is disgusting. It's that nasty kind of thick, cloying, pasty icing that is made from Crisco and sugar and it tastes dreadful. They pile ten tons of it on the cake and it's just gross. The cakes aren't professionally decorated either, just some crappy icing balloons and very average lettering. It is pretty ridiculous to charge their sky high prices for a cake that is pretty much a step down from a Wal-mart cake, and Wal-mart cakes are pretty gross too. You'd be far, far better off making a cake from scratch, or even a mix. If you don't have the time, the HG Hill grocery store downtown makes DELICIOUS cakes that are far more reasonably priced. I can't recommend Darlene's at all. I don't know how they stay in business. Anyone could make a better cake and decorate it better too.

Disappointed. We ordered a cake a week or so in advance. We were told we could pick it up anytime after 9am. When we got there the cake was not ready so they gave us some money off the cake.

However the cake broken and had a big break down the middle. They took one white half and one chocolate half and stuck them together. I thought this was a very sloppy way of making a cake. My mom used to bake the two halfs at one time and they never broke.

When we called to complain they told us we could bring the cake back and they would try to fix it or we could get in store credit. We were very disappointed and didnt have the time to go all the way back downtown. Also why did we want store credit when we do not want to order a cake from them in the future.

Excellent customer service!!. I LOVE Darlenes cakes !! I am out of state and had NO idea where to order a cake for an event I was hosting in Nashville..was recommended to Darlenes , ordered everything by phone. They were awesome, got everything right, delivered cake to location on time for FREE, and I got MANY compliments on the cake !!

I will ONLY use Darlenes Cakes for any event in Nashville!!

Excellent Bakery. This bakery is a family tradition. For many years I have given Darlene's a picture of my child's favorite character to replicate on a birthday cake. Our family can't wait to drive to Darlene's before the party to see the end result and it is always above and beyond what we expected. Not only are the cakes beautiful, they are delicious. I order cakes large enough to serve the children and their parents and can count on compliments. This is evidenced by the fact that I just ordered a birthday cake for my father's 70th birthday and am transporting it from Tennessee to Alabama rather than ordering from a local bakery in their hometown.

BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING WEDDING CAKE!. Jeff designed/decorated the most beautiful cake I could have hoped for. It was not only beautiful, but tasted amazing as well. The groom's cake was also perfect! I would very highly recommend this cake shop to anyone interested in a great tasting, attractive wedding cake. We have also had cakes from here for birthdays and have never been disappointed. They are wonderful to work with and have great pricing.

Loved The Cakes!. I recently got married on August 30, 2008. During the wedding planning I searched and searched for the perfect Bakery to get my wedding cake from. Darlene's Kakes was it and I mean they were perfect. The price was reasonable $2.50 per person VS. the average $4.00 for a not so tasty cake. The wedding cake was chocolate raspberry with buttercream icing, VERY YUMMY. I had so many people asking about where we got the cake saying it was the best they had ever had. The decoration was next to perfect. I brought in a picture and they were so easy to work with. The cake looked just like the picture. The grooms cake was a Georgia Bulldog shape that looked awesome. It was strawberry with cream cheese icing. We LOVED it! One of the best cakes we've ever tasted. I would definitely recommend Darlene's Kakes to anyone. The price, taste, appearance, and customer service was a 10!
